Marinette and Adrien have finally acknowledged their feelings for one another! They've been going on dates, suffering teasing from their good-intentioned friends, and sharing everything with each other.
Well, almost everything.
Unlike anything the heroes have faced before, a sinister new villain is taking over the streets of Paris. No matter how hard they try, people are going missing, even turning up dead. How can Ladybug use her Lucky charm to fix everything when she can't find the villain in the first place? How can Marinette and Adrien keep their relationship intact when everything regarding their identities is on the line?
EXCERPT:
His phone buzzed in his pocket. Marinette was calling him. Marinette! The love of his life, Marinette, was calling him of all people! Marinette was a good distraction. It'd taken them a year plus three months of dating to reach their point. He loved her and knew without a shadow of a doubt that she loved him back. He loved going on quiet dates with her and holding her hand. He loved the support he had from their friends, even if they were overbearing at times.
He answered the phone on the last ring. "Good morning Marinette!" he grimaced. It felt too forced, as happy as he was to hear her voice.
"Adrian!" He heard her smile in her voice. She sounded as tired as he was. "Will you," She took a deep breath, "Would you like to come over to my place after school?"
"I'd love to," Adrien paused to collect his thoughts but was interrupted by Natalie opening his massive front door. "I have to go. I'll see you in a few minutes though."
Marinette hung up without a goodbye. Which, with anyone else, may have seemed curt. But she understood how tedious his requirements were. It was better for her as well. Fewer words are less stressful.
He wondered what his mother would think of her.
