Lucy Heartfilia used to have a great life. She lived in a nice apartment paid for with her own money, she had a dog, and she lived happily. But since she left the family mansion, her family abandoned her and hates her. She didn't mind as much as people would think, it was nice living alone with a nice and cute dog to take care of. She didn't have to worry about family expectations or reputation. Since she's left them, she could just live a normal life, like she always wanted and which wasn't possible living with her family. One day, Lucy comes home and she gets a note that says her best friend Michelle died in a car accident. All she has left is her dog plue, and everyone's best friend alcohol. She ends up going to a bar. She can't take plus anywhere else, so she has to put him in a daycare for the time being. She meets a weird bartender that offers her 'power'. She doesn't trust him so she refused and finished drinking then paid. Things get ever worse when she finds out that her house is being destroyed. She has been evicted by wishes from her father. She has no choice, she ended up going back to the bar to find the bartender. She chased him down the block just to change her answer to the question. He didn't seem surprised, or even like he wanted to know what changed her mind. It's almost like he knew she would come back. She accepts this 'power' and she finds a whole new world.

With Fairy Tail disbanded, Lucy loses her family. Not easily trusting people, she's a changed person two years later. Independent in her own right, she ventures on her own. Jellal -ex-criminal- is seeking dark guilds as he wanders throughout Fiore in the shadows. He encounters Lucy during his mission.
