Pov Naomi
Today is the day i will be a student for a day at my new college, Just to see if will like it. As you can imagine, i'm pretty nervous. My anxiety is already Kicking in.
Why? Because i don't know anyone, and i am the most awkward human being walking around on this earth. Trying to make friends will be, well, interesting.
Last night i tried to fall asleep for 2 hours, i couldn't stop thinking about Sunset Curve. It makes me anxious to know that there are insanely talented people like them walking around in that college.
I put on a casual summer dress. After that, i brush my teeth, and quickly apply some makeup to conceal the dark circles that Decided to say hello.
Before almost falling down as I walk down the stairs, I made it safely to the ground and put on my shoes.
''Naomi, why are you up already?'' I hear my dad ask me from out the kitchen. I stumble towards him, still trying to get one shoe on, and sit down at the dining table with a deep sigh.
''Why do you think?'' I answer his question, with another question. Something he gets irritated by very quickly.
But this time, he just chuckles and looks at me. ''Let me guess, your unicorn woke you up?'' I snort and look up at him, what is he on?
''Dylan told me about your little excuse yesterday... You had to walk your unicorn?'' He explains when he noticed the confusion on my face, trying to be serious but failing miserably.
I groan and note not to forget to hit my brother when i come back from college, he deserves it after all.
''Forget about that, i'm just nervous, dad. When Dylan and i went to that concert yesterday.. i- they are just really talented, way better than me,'' i mumble and focus my eyes on my hands that are placed on my lap.
''Naomi, you have something special, and i am not just saying that because you are my daughter. You are talented. There aren't a lot of musicians like you in this world, trust me.'' He tries to assure me with a small smile on his face.
I decide to just leave it for now. I am very open about my struggles and feelings, but when i am in the moment of my feelings, i just want to be left alone. I don't know if that makes sense, but for me it does.
''Thanks dad, but now nothing can calm my nerves down. '' i bite my lip and sigh deeply, I will be alright, i know I will. But i think going to a new school or college is nerve-wrecking for everyone, not just me. I know i'm not the only one feeling like this right now, so it's fine.
After breakfast i still have to wait an hour before i can leave, I woke up way too early. Thanks to my nervous ass.
My dog Aleika walks over to me and lays her head on my leg, i giggle and shake my head. when i'm nervous or when i am having a panic attack, she always calms me down by comforting me. It is the sweetest thing ever.
I pat her head softly, ''Hey little girl,'' i whisper.
She wiggles her tail and licks my hand, basically telling me that she is there for me. My parents bought me Aleika when she was a puppy. It was in a time where i was having a lot of panic attacks and where i was really depressed. It is still the best present i ever got in my whole life.
I hear someone coming down the stairs, and i already know who it is by the heavy steps. My brother. And besides that, it can only be my brother because, my mom always works early shifts, she is a doctor.
I smirk and run towards the door, hiding behind it and ready to hit him. I didn't think he would be awake so early, normally he sleeps in until 12am. That lazy shit.
''Naomi, where are you?'' He sings. When he finally walks through the door, i hit his head and start laughing.
"y-y-you should've seen your face," I laugh harder while mimicking the face he made.
''I- What did you do that for?'' He screams in shock before bursting out in laughter.
I shrug and laugh, ''You told dad about my secret unicorn, '' I grin.
He stares at me and sighs deeply, ''dad, you and mom clearly did something wrong with this one. It is way too early for this,'' he jokingly says while turning to our dad who is just looking at us with a proud smile on his face.
''I know, but that is what you get from spilling my top secret,'' I tell him confidently while crossing my arms.
He stares at me with a straight face, probably thinking about how weird i actually am. Even though we both know he is just as crazy, if not even crazier.
''Whatever, i am bringing you to your college, let's go!'' He happily says while laying his hand on my shoulder.
My eyes widened, i forgot i had to go to college for a second. ''Uhm, yeah let's go!'' I laugh nervously and follow him towards his car after saying goodbye to dad.

When i arrive, i couldn't help but notice how big this college actually is. I found some pictures on the internet yesterday when i couldn't sleep, but it's nothing compared to how it looks in real life.
It was literally a 5 minute walk towards the entrance, because the park where students study and hang out is massive.
When i'm finally at the entrance of the school, a girl that was handing out the schedules welcomes me and asks for my name.
''Naomi Anderson,'' I stutter nervously. Naomi, get your shit together. You don't want people to think that you're a weirdo on your first day, or ever.
The girl smiles kindly, ''I'm Madison! And oh, here it is! Don't be nervous by the way, most people here are really sweet, just make sure you avoid talking to that girl.'' She points at a girl standing a few feet away from us, with pretty, long hair and green eyes. Her fake laugh while handing out a flyer irritates me, so i quickly turn back to the nice girl standing in front of me.
''That is Carrie, she thinks she is all it, but in the meanwhile her dad pays people so she can perform. Others have to work for it, she just gets it. Anyways, have a great day and don't let anyone ruin it!'' She smiles while handing me my schedule.
I thank her and walk into the building where i bump into a girl. Great start Naomi, really great. Note the sarcasm.
I quickly apologize and look at the person i bumped into, she has her earphones in. And her long brown hair sways from side to side as she walks away, not bothering to look back.
Another beautiful girl, seriously, what is this college? A model agency? What am i even doing here. The girl doesn't look back to apologize, and keeps walking to wherever she is going. Maybe she just has a bad day.
A few minutes later i finally found the classroom that i'm in for today. This college is like a maze, you get lost very easily. Just like my green eyes. Ha, funny.
I take a deep breath and walk into the classroom where the professor immediately welcomes me. Everyone sitting in this class looks really kind , which lessened my nervousness a little.
''Attention class! My name is Mrs Kelly! I see some nervous faces, but don't worry, we are only going to do fun stuff today besides me giving everyone the information they need,'' she explains excitingly. I take another deep breath, don't fall asleep, i tell myself.
2 hours later -
That were probably the longest two hours in my life. The professor is really sweet, but as she said before, she had to give us a lot of information. And well- i have to admit, it was very hard to stay awake.
Now i am searching for the toilets, and let me tell you - it is way harder then you think.
When i finally get there, i notice how long the line is. I guess i'll just come up with an excuse if i pee myself. Like, my water broke or something.
The same girl i bumped into earlier was standing slightly ahead of me, waiting to go the toilet as well. I notice her looking around impatiently before she gets out of the line and walks my way. When she sees me, she pulls me away from the line as well and drags me towards the men's toilet.
What the? I don't know this girl at all.
''Okay so 2 hours ago, you didn't even acknowledge me, but now you're dragging me towards the men's toilets?'' I ask her confusingly.
She grins, ''well, i didn't want to go alone? so...'' She states matter of factly, like it's normal to drag a stranger you don't know into a toilet. A men's toilet, may I add.
"Are you scared of me or something?" She asks when she noticed I was still quietly looking at her.
I don't like to judge people, but this girl is crazy.
