A couple weeks have gone by, Callie and Josh hanging out with each other almost every day. Callie wondering their status since he never strikes that conversation. Callie not sure how to approach the subject. With summer classes starting up, she hasn't had any time to sit down with Josh and ask him what's going on.
Callie looks over at her alarm clock, thinking she's going to dread her early morning classes. She leans over, turning off the alarm and planting a kiss on his forehead before proceeding to get up and dressed, leaving a note for Josh on her pillow.
He wakes up about an hour and a half after Callie left, looking over and realizing she's gone. He sees the note, picking it up. It reads:
"Had class at 8:30. Will be done at 10:50. Meeting a friend for brunch after class, stay as long as you want. I'll be back later or text me. -xoxo Callie."
He looks at the clock, noticing it's close to eleven. He sends her a quick text.
