Author's POV.
Harry called and informed Ryan of everything that has happened and that Aurora will give him a chance and wait for him.
Ryan was happy hearing it.
He felt relieved after hearing that. But still a part of him was hurt. After all, Aurora was his first love. It was difficult for him but he had to do it. For Zayn. And he's more than sure of it.
Ryan was in his deep thoughts and a call brought him back to reality. He took his phone and saw the called ID.
It was Kate. He attended the call without wasting a second.
" Hey, Kate." he said as soon as he attended the call.
"Hello, Ryan. I want to meet you. Are you free now?" she asked.
" Yeah, of course Kate. I hope nothing is serious." he said as he ran his fingers through his hair.
" Don't worry, everything's fine. Where shall we meet? Starbucks?" she asked.
"Umm... I don't feel like going out. You could come to my house. Uh .. I mean only if you don't mind." he added as he rubbed his temples, hoping she'd say yes.
"Sure. No problem at all. Text me your address. I'll be there in 15 minutes," she said.
"Alright, bye Kate." he said.
"Bye, Ryan." she said as she hung up.
Soon, she came to his house and rang the doorbell.
To her surprise, Ryan opened the door. She thought that one of his maids would open the door for her, but instead he did. He smiled at her and called her in.
It was her first time visiting Ryan at his house. She was mesmerized by the beauty of his mansion. It looked majestic.
"Beautiful mansion." she said looking at the interiors.
"Thank you." he said with a smile.
"Do you fancy a drink? Perhaps coffee?" he suggested.
"No, thanks. I am fine. I just want to talk to you." she said.
He sat beside her on the couch and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"
"Is Zayn all right?" she asked.
"Yeah. He is. I just want to see him happy, no matter what." he said
"Good, but aren't you hurt?"she asked as she turned to look into his eyes. It held nothing but concern.
"What? Why would I be?" He asked as he looked away from her, struggling to maintain eye contact.
"Ryan stop hiding. I know that you love Aurora. Why are you still doing this? You just can't keep everything to yourself. At least not always." she said as she held his hand with her soft hand and stroked it gently.
He looked at her eyes again. It held something warm. Warm enough to thaw his frozen heart. His eyes welled up.
"It's okay to cry. Never bottle up your feelings.You'll end up being hurt even more. If you ever want to talk about anything, I'm all ears." she said softly.
Ryan suddenly hugged her and started crying. Warm tears fell on her shoulder. She gently stroked his back to calm him down. She felt tears in her eyes too. She felt hurt but doesn't know why.
" You are right. I love her but I know I am not the one for her. It's Zayn. It was always Zayn. And I am really happy that Zayn has finally found someone true and precious. I know she'd heal him. She's his medicine. I know and I am really glad that I took the right decision to back off. I just want them to be happy. That's everything I'd ever ask for," he said as he let tears down his cheeks.
"You are really the strongest person I've ever met. And I really appreciate your sacrifice. I don't know if anyone would do the same thing you've done if they were in your position. You are just great Ryan. Simply great," she said softly.
After a few moments they pulled off.
"Thanks Kate. I feel much better."he said as he smiled a bit.
"I'm glad that I could help. Zayn is extremely lucky to get you as his friend. You are such a genuine person. "she said as she smiled.
"Thank you Kate. For everything." he said as he smiled.
"You're most welcome and I'll leave now. If you need anything, just ring me up and I'll be at your doorstep," she said as she stood up to leave.
"Sure. Take care Kate. Bye." he said and smiled at her widely.
He sighed deeply and sank down on his couch.
"Kate..." he whispered as he fell into deep thoughts.
At Zayn's house.
"Listen to me Zayn. She said that she'll give you a chance. So why don't you give it a damn try?"Harry asked, clearly pissed.
"I can't. How could you expect me to talk to her after everything I've said? I don't want to hurt her anymore. She deserves better. I am not the one for her."he said.
"Do you know what the fuck you are talking about?" asked Harry.
"Harry, please don't come up with this topic again." said Zayn. He directly went to his room and slammed his door shut.
At Ryan's house.
"What the hell does he mean by that?"asked Ryan, fuming.
"I don't know. He's gone nuts. He is a six feet moron!"Harry said.
"I sacrificed my love for him and he's saying this now?I'm gonna kill that Bastard! Honestly, is he on drugs?"said Ryan, agitated.
"Sacrificed your love?"Harry asked as he cocked an eyebrow at him.
Ryan eyes widened as he realized what he actually said.
"Sorry. Ididn't know what I was saying. Never mind."he said.
"I knew it right from the beginning." said Harry, in a soft tone as he placed his hand on Ryan's shoulder.
Ryan looked perplexed at him and stuttered out saying, "Wh what?"
"I saw it in your eyes, the way you looked at her, was more than enough."said Harry as he looked at Ryan straight in his eyes.
"Well, I don't now. I see her as my sister.She is Zayn's. She was never mine and never will be mine. Always Zayn's. "he said with a smile, but still sadness was obvious in his tone.
"Are you sure? This is what I never wanted to happen. I knew it from the beginning that you two are falling for the same girl. Not your fault though. " asked Harry as he sighed.
"Yeah. I didn't know that I was falling for her. Her smile made me fall deeper. It was all magical and when I was sure about my feelings, I started to see love in Aurora's eyes, not for me but for him.
At the same time I could never afford to lose Zayn's happiness again. He has had enough. So I bailed off without even trying." said Ryan as he had tears in his eyes.
"I don't know what to say or how to comfort you mate. I feel sorry for you. Zayn is literally lucky to get you as his friend. I'm amazed Ryan. Completely amazed. You let go of your first love just for Zayn's happiness." said Harry as he patted Ryan's shoulder.
"It's actually nothing cause I know that she loves him too, so there's no point in me loving her. " said Ryan.
"Great mate. You are the strongest person I've ever known" said Harry.
Ryan just smiled.
"Don't worry,we'll make it right."said Harry with a smile as he hugged Ryan and patted his back.
Ryan's POV.
I was laying on my bed, and my thoughts drifted back to the incidents that took place today.
I opened up to Harry and Kate about Aurora.
Wait, it was Kate and Harry. Kate was the first person I opened up and I don't regret anything. I am really happy for Zayn though he is a moron cause Aurora would change him sooner or later. He is a six feet moron.
I chuckled at the phrase as I was reminded of Harry.
"Six feet moron..." I mumbled as I chuckled.
Today, I feel a lot different. A lot better.
After opening up, I feel a lot better. Feels like the weight on my heart had been lifted up. I am clearer now. I have done everything I could ever do for them and I know it's the best for them.
It's time for destiny to play it's part.
After all, it was the end of a journey and beginning of another beautiful one.
Only time has to give the answers.
