I smile and turn my head to continue munching happily on my food, soon finishing and getting ready for bed. We all set up our futons and lay down, the clock now reading it was almost 10 o'clock. Sakura and Naruto say goodnight and fall asleep, leaving only me and Sasuke awake.
"Goodnight, Sasuke." I whisper out facing his direction. He stares back for a couple of seconds before turning his head away from me suddenly. I quietly laugh and close my eyes to sleep.
"Night, Y/N."

I woke up with a shuffle as I slit my eyes open at the source until they finally rested upon a smiling blonde. I grumble slightly and turn my head away for a split second before rubbing my eyes.
"Good morning, Naruto." I yawn out as my body lifts itself.
"Morning Y/N! Come on we have to get ready and go!"
I frown and get up to get dressed, folding my futon and setting it beside the other ones. I leave the room and meet up with the squad before we head off to the lord's place, ready to begin our boring mission.
"Ah hello young Genin, take a seat."
We all oblige and sit down calmly waiting until the annoying runt came into the room, his eyes baggy and hair messed up. He takes a seat next to the lord and we are told about our mission. Our mission was to escort Idate Morino, who was the runt, until he reached the finish line of his race. He was basically a fast runner but since the attack rates were so high we were chosen to make sure nothing bad happened to him....even though I wouldn't mind or care what would happen to him.
The race was starting soon and the sun wasn't even up yet meaning we still had some time before the event started. I decided to stretch a bit and headed out to get some food and by food I meant dango. Halfway down the town I hear my name being called causing me to turn around and see Sasuke slowly walking towards me, taking his sweet time.
"What's up Sasuke?" Sasuke stops and coughs slightly before talking.
"Where are you going Y/N our mission will be starting soon."
"To get food duh, wanna come?" Sasuke seems to hesitate and think before huffing walking in front of me and farther down the path making me run to catch up with him, accidentally hitting my toe in the process. We finally reach the sweet shop where thankfully there were a few orders pf dango left to which I took the rest in a hurry. Both Sasuke and I speed walk back to the docks where we reached just in time for the race to begin.
"Hey Y/N! Sasuke! Where have ya been?" Naruto questions eagerly while waving his hands, Sakura standing quietly though her face seemed troubled.
"Oh! Sasuke came with me to get some Dango! Want some?"
"Dango? Of course Y/N! I would love on-"
"Naruto shhh!!! The race is about to begin!" Sakura whispers angrily as she crossed her arms and looked away from the three of us, her cheeks puffing out in irritation. I sigh out loud and hand Naruto a stick of three colorful Dango. He happily yet quietly takes a bite of it, careful not to tick off Miss Billboard Brow. After a few minutes of quietly eating my delicious sweet I watch as our runner, Idate, make his way to the front of the docks along with a separate person. I mean what is the race for if it doesn't include somebody else?
"When this race begins!," Started the lord of the village, "You two will race to the boats and sail it to the other side until you reach an island!"
Our competition nodded his head while Idate stayed quiet...a little too quiet.
"On your marks..."My eyes shift to my arms as the hair on them began to stand on edge for an unknown reason.
'It's a gut feeling...' I thought to myself.
"Get set!...."
"Sasuke, Sasuke, Sasuke!" I repeat as I quietly jerk his sleeve towards me.
"Y/N? What are you do-"
"I have a bad feeling."
Sasuke's expression changed from one of slight annoyance to one of curiosity as he lifted his eyebrow asking me why.
"I- I don't know! But I feel like something- something BAD is going to hap-"
"GO!!!"
I was cut off short as both flew their feet back and took off in an immense speed. However, something happened that not only surprised me but the rest of the squad as well. Idate didn't take off towards the boat like he was suppose to, he ran off towards the woods.
"I- wai- wait wha- oh my god! IDATE! WAIT! ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!?" I scream out trying to comprehend what had just happened through my mind. Before I could register the events, Sasuke takes me hand and we follow in suit of Naruto and Sakura.
'I cannot believe Idate just pulled a quick one on us like that!'
"Idate! Where are you going!? The water is the other way ya know!" Naruto yells out at the runner but Idate ignore him, making a smart remark as a response as he kept running, finally making it into the forest.
I swiftly dodge branches and rocks as we make our way past the thick threes and hallow leaves of the forest. After what seemed like ages I finally caught up with both Naruto and Idate, trying to high tail them like a wagon would to another on a travel through the mountains. After another couple on minutes Idate suddenly stop in front of a big tree with a cut down the middle. I take noted of that tree almost half an hour ago!
"Just what I though, this is a gen-"
"Hah! Genjutsu!" Idate slyly says before putting his hands together and releasing the jutsu. I huff and follow in pursuit, rudely slapping my fingers together and closing my eyes.
"Release!"
Idate takes off again taking me by surprise as now I was back where I started, trying to find and catch up to Naruto and Idate. I felt my legs get suddenly weak as my brother unknowingly left me behind, 'alone' in these woods. Alone with a weird sense of someone else's presence yet one that I have felt before.
"Who is there..?" No response followed my question making me even more uncomfortable.
"Hello!?"
*snap*
I quickly twist my head towards the sound, my eyes widening and starting to slightly water from surprise.
"Who are-...you.."
"Y/N.."
His voice slurred out in a quiet and hushed tone.

"Ugh, where did those three go?" I ask no one in particular as both Sakura and I tiredly tried to find out where Y/N and Naruto went off to while chasing the runner. I hear Sakura huff out in annoyance making me irritably stop in my tracks.
"What's wrong Sakura?" Sakura stiffens and her face goes red in embarrassment as she points her fingers together, her right foot moving in nervous circles.
"Sasuke~, um maybe we should take a break. I'm sure Y/N and Naruto will find us soon! It's just you look so ti-"
"I'm fine." I state, making sure to keep up my monotone act. I didn't want to feel any more emotion the rest of the mission, not even annoyance.
"But Sasuke," She scoffs, "I really think you should get some re-"
I don't bother to hear the rest of her plea before I kick some dirt off my shoes on the side of a tree before taking off again, not really caring whether Sakura would keep up or not. If she gets lost she can find her way back, she's a smart girl and can handle herself.
After about 5 minutes I look behind me hoping Sakura wouldn't be behind me, but unfortunately she was impressively keeping up with my speed with little trips here and there. I smirk and look forward again, trying to keep a look out for Naruto and....Y/N. Lately I have been feeling this familiar presence but I haven't been able to tell who's it is. I continue to keep my act up until I hear Sakura's voice behind me.
"S-Sasuke! Look! Idate is about to run off a cliff!" I whip my head the direction Sakura was hopelessly pointing in as she tried to turn to change her direction of course. I spin around and dart towards the three and find a long piece of rope on the side of the mountain, taking it, I throw it around Naruto's torso before he fell and yell for Sakura to hold on tight.
She follows my directions and prepares for the sudden impact of the tug. We shoot slightly forward but manage to get a good grip and wheel up the tree who had undoubtedly fallen from a double genjutsu.
Once Naruto and Idate get up I continue to pull up for Y/N but instead is met with the end of the rope, that was untied when Naruto got on the floor to help Idate get on his feet.
"Naruto....Where is Y/N..?" I watch as Naruto lifts his eyebrow and shakes his head side to side to look around the area and soon a look of sudden worry washed over his face.
"I- I don't know where she is..."
Everyone gets real quiet as we process the situation we were just put in. I watch my hands rise and angrily grab Naruto by the collar.
"What do you mean you don't know where she is!?" I yell in his face, making his face burn up in irritation.
"I SAID I DON'T KNOW OK!? IF YOU ARE SOOOO WORRIED THEN LET'S GO FIND HER!!"
"WE HAVE TO YOU LOSER!!!"
"Guys...Now, let's just calm down.."
"Hmph! Well I don't exactly have time to spare to look for one of my guards who failed to watch over me."
I stop in my tracks and slowly turn my head towards the punk, my eyes activating without my permission.
"What did you just say you loser?" The fact that my voice sounded so quiet and calm seemed to spook the boy since his eyes went wide and he started rubbing the back of his neck.
"I- I mean I guess but we have to find her quick then! I have to win this race!"
I scoff out and throw Naruto's collar off my hand before scanning my red eyes over the premises, soon being able to sense her chakra, but barely.
"She's this way." I state before jumping on the branch of a tree and running towards the source of Y/N's chakra, Naruto directly on my tail.
'Hmph, some brother you are to forget about her. I'm understand her more than you ever will.'

I scurry to my feet from what had happened just now. I rub my shoulder's and right wrist in pain from the sudden grab he had given me. I wonder why both of them were here for me at this time of day, I would think they both didn't expect the circumstances they were put into. Either way, I am glad that is over.
"I cannot believe they would both appear with Sasuke so close by, they had to have known he was here so...were they after him too? No, that can't be it..."
"Y/N!?"
My head perks up from the sound of my name making me quickly get to my feet and turn to the source of it. I feel my tears finally dry and my mouth curve into a smile as both my crush and brother appeared before me.
"S-Sasuke! Naruto! Ooooh I am so happy to see you two!" I exclaim bringing them both into a tight hug.
"Y/N! Are you ok? I am sorry for not noticing you were missing..." I laugh and shake my head.
"It's ok Naruto, everything is good."
I let go of the hug and look at Sasuke, who seemed to be preoccupied with something...my wrist. He grabs it and studies the marks.
"Who did this?" I freeze, to scared to tell him who did it, I am sure if I did he would want to kill him even more.
"Ummm, the people! That put us in that genjutsu! Yes! But...I couldn't get a good look at their faces...they covered my eyes."
"I see..." I cough as Sakura and Idate finally meet up with us.
"We have to go, like, right now" Sakura informs us. We all nod and get back on track. My mind still on the events that had happened 15-20 minutes ago.
