Lucinda P.O.V
"Hey there little owl, come to mama" I say as I lock sights with the owl that's nested itself on one of the trees in my back garden. I throw some bird food on the ground and sure enough, the owl comes flying down. "Just a little bit closer" I say as I continue to lay down bird food in an attempt to lead it into a cage I have set up. I hate that I can't use magic for this.

I lock the cage door, with the owl successfully trapped inside. "YES!" I shout.
"Lucinda? What are you doing?" Mom says.
"I'm getting my familiar, just like you asked" I say. She walks over and looks at the owl I've caught.
"Well he's a good colour, looks health" She says. Then suddenly she open the cage door and the owl goes flying off to its nest.
"MOM!"
"Lucinda, a familiar has to be a creature that you have an emotional connection with. You can't just trap any old thing and force it to share a part of your soul" She says while looking at me. I look away as I know she's right. "Besides, it's 3am on a Wednesday morning. Go to sleep"
"You said I need a familiar by Friday, but I don't know where to find one. It seems like every creature I try to make a connection with just rejects me"
"Lucinda this isn't something that can be rushed. You just have to wait for the right animal to find you, not the other way around. Besides, maybe you've already found one"
"I'm fairly sure I haven't" I say as I walk inside. "Every animal on this planet hates me"
"It doesn't seem like cats hate you" I hear her sarcastically call out.
Ignoring her words I head straight upstairs and to my room. I flop on my bed and pull out my phone. And without even realising it I start to message Y/n.
Lucinda: Hey you up?
Y/n (gf): I am now. What's up?
Lucinda: Just a bit frustrated, and I wanted to talk to you
Y/n (gf): You wanna talk about it?
Y/n (gf): Well I mean you just said you wanted to talk but you know what I mean
Lucinda: Don't know if there is much to talk about. I can't seem to get my hands on a familiar
Y/n (gf): Well can't you just use magic to summon one or something?
Lucinda: Sadly no. I have to make a real connection with something. It can't be forced in anyway. I just don't know what to do
Y/n (gf): Well as much as I'd like to talk to you. My advice would be to get some sleep so you can tackle the problem with a clear head
Lucinda: Woah that's actually good advice
Y/n (gf): Thanks. Besides I've got an idea that just might work
Lucinda: Which is?
Y/n (gf): A surprise. But just checking it can be any animal
Lucinda: Any animal or magic creature that I have an emotional connection with
Y/n (gf): Okay. Get some sleep and I'll take care of everything
Lucinda: But babe, you sure about helping?
Y/n (gf): Yes
Y/n (gf): NOW GO TO SLEEP
Lucinda: Okay, night babe
Y/n (gf): Night
I put away my phone and get into bed with a smile on my face. Y/n's so amazing. How am I so lucky. Then just as I'm about to fall asleep.

Y/n P.O.V
"LUCINDA!" I shout as I jump out the car and head straight for her. She's just started walking up the steps to school.
I immediately tackle her arm and wrap my arms around hers.
"Hi"
"Hey"
She then leans in and kisses the top of my left ear. Sending a happy shiver down my spine.
"What you got there?" She asks, looking down at the bag I'm holding.
"It's the answer to your familiar problem" I say as I pull out a small box and give it to her. "He took me all night to get and I'm sure you're gonna be happy with him"
She opens up the box and her happy expression changes to one of confusion and disgust.
"It's a bird"
"I know, this little guy took me ages to get. You happy with him? I think he's gonna make a great familiar"
"It's dead"
I look in the box and see a dead bird. Lucinda quickly shuts the box and looks at me, very disturbed at the creature I've brought her.
"You sure Jeremy's dead?"
"You named him?"
"Yep"
"Well I am certain Jeremy is dead"
"NOOOO! MY BABY BOY. HE WAS SO YOUNG. WHY WOULD HE BE TAKE FROM THIS WORLD SO UNJUSTLY" I say as I cry into Lucinda's shoulder.
She opens up the box again to take another quick look. "It looks like you killed him"
"Oh" I say as I wipe away my tears. "So can he still be your familiar?"
"No. I don't think so"
Then Aph, Katelyn and KC walk over.
"Hey what's it the box?" Katelyn asks.
"Yeah, Kawaii-Chan thinks it smells delicious"
"His name is Jeremy" I say.
"Why did you name a box?" Aph asks?
"Not the box, what's in the box. Why would you guys assume I would name a box?"
"It's something you would do" Aph says.
"Agreed" KC, Katelyn and Lucinda all say.
I huff, grab the box and start to walk off.
"Where are you going?" Lucinda asks.
"I'm sorry Lucinda. I need some time. To mourn his death. I don't know how long I'll need. I may never be the same again" I say grievingly only for Katelyn to walk over, take the box from my hands and waltz over to the nearest bin. "KATELYN NOO!"
"What you need to do is get ready for rehearsals. You can have Jeremy back if you get a role" Katelyn says as she puts the box in her bag and heads into school, followed by KC and Aph.
"Lucinda, my son's been kidnapped" I say as I dive in for a hug.
"There there" She says as she strokes my head. "Thanks for trying"
"You're welcome" I sniffle out.
"You better hurry if you wanna get Jeremy back" She says jokingly.
"Yeah probably. What are you gonna do about your familiar problem?" I say as we both start to walk up the stairs.
"Well my mom said to just wait and let them come to me"
"Well your moms pretty smart. So she's probably right"
"I know, I just really need to do well on this test"
"Well I'm sure you'll do great. With or without a familiar" I say as I kiss her on the check.
"Thanks babe, now come on where are you and Katelyn practicing?"
"Drama 5. Why?"
"Well, since I'm waiting for a familiar to find me and I have a free period now. I was hoping to hear this singing Katelyn's been talking about" She says jokingly.
I take a deep breath in and we head up to the room.

This chapter was more comedy than anything else. Well I think it was funny. I have no idea if it actually is. If only there was a way you, the viewers, could say what you thought. Wink wink. Anyway tomorrow should be auditions, I honestly don't have a plan for that just let so we'll see how that goes. Anyway that's enough for now.
