Y/n P.O.V
SNAP!
I hear behind us. We both look around to see an all too familiar Meif'wa hiding behind a camera.
SNAP!
She takes another picture. It's of me and Lucinda both still holding hands, just outside the main door with students walking either side of us. Lucinda to the right and me to the left. We're both looking confused at the camera. My hair is tucked round my right shoulder and rests on my chest so it can barely been seen in the photo. While Lucinda's hair rests on the back ending at the waist. My right ear points upwards while my left is angled sideways. We are both standing fairly close together, Lucinda being slightly taller than me. My tail's behind Lucinda, almost wrapping around her knee. Lucinda's uniform is flawless while mine is fairly scruffy despite all the work I put in this morning. Our fingers are interlocked though the red of my knuckles is clearly visible.
"Awwww Kawaii-Chan thinks Y/n-Senpai and Lucinda-Chan look sooooo cute together" KC says causing us to let go of each other's hands. As soon as we do I immediately feel the cold creep onto my hand. Not that today is very cold, just the absence of Lucinda leaves a lot to be desired.
"KC!" I shout in frustration.
"Kawaii-Chan couldn't help it. Kawaii-Chan's soooo happy Y/n-Senpai and Lucinda-Chan are together" KC gushes.
"KC! I haven't told Lucinda that I told you yet" I whisper shout, but Lucinda clearly hears. I turn my head and look at her with a guilt ridden face. "Sorry"
"Y/n, you have nothing to be sorry for. You're the one who wanted to keep things between us. Behinds it's pretty cute that you couldn't stop yourself from telling someone" Lucinda jokes causing me to get slightly flustered.
"Lucinda!" I say as I clench my fists and drop my ears looking flustered. Lucinda just stands there with her arms crossed and a huge grin on her face. And what do you know.
SNAP!
"Would you stop doing that!" I shout, still flustered.
"Sorry" KC says, guilt ridden.
"Come on. We gotta get to home room" Lucinda says as she walks me inside. I turn my head and give KC an evil glare.
Katelyn P.O.V
"So are you thinking about taking part?" Nicole asks, as we walk down the halls on our way to the lunch hall.
"Urrr definitely. I love musicals and acting. Why wouldn't I. Though I do have to sing in front of an audience" I say slightly scared.
"You'll do great. You're an amazing singer" Nicole reassures.
"If you say so. Though I don't wanna do it alone"
"Don't look at me, I can't sing or act. I'd be terrible"
"Yeah you probably would be" I joke causing Nicole to playfully punch me.
We walk into the lunch hall and see students filtering in. Either queuing up for food or just going straight to a table.
Lucky everyone in the school has accepted that one of the tables belongs to our group and so it's completely empty apart from one familiar Meif'wa huddled over some kind of book.
"Hey Y/n" I say cheerfully. I then wonder if that was the right thing to say. Things might me weird between us.
"Hey Katelyn" Y/n says cheerfully. Guess not then.
"What you doing?" I ask as I sit down next to her and Nicole goes into the lunch queue.
"Nothing" Y/n says as she angles her book away from me.
"What kind of nothing includes. Fairy lights?" I question.
"Shut up" She says, clearly flustered.
"Okay okay sorry. Anyway did you tell Lucinda how you feel?"
"Yes"
"And?"
"Well. We're going on a date tonight"
"A date that involves fairy lights"
"Yep" She says shyly.
"Well good for you two. Anything I can do to help?"
"No not. Well yes actually. I need time to set this all up so can you distract Lucinda after school"
"Sure thing"
"What you two talking about?" Nicole says as she sits down opposite Katelyn.
"Nothing" We both say.
"I assume it invokes that book of yours Y/n. You've been writing in that all day, what is it anyway?" Nicole asks.
Me and Y/n look at each other nervously.
"It's to do with the musical" Katelyn says.
"It is?" I ask.
"It is" Katelyn assures.
"It is" I say.
"Good. I didn't want Katelyn to be alone" Nicole says as Teony and Aphmau sit down.
"Hi" They both say.
"Hello" we all say back.
Teony and Aphmau start talking to Nicole and so Katelyn leans in.
"Sorry about that. First thing that came into my head" She whispers.
"It's alright. I've actually been thinking of taking part. Though I won't be singing" I assure.
"Fair enough, auditions are on Wednesday. So what do you need me to do about tonight?"
Laurance P.O.V
"You hear that Garroth. I think Y/n's got a date tonight"
"Laurance I don't think we should be doing this, remember what happened last time. I don't want my baby sister to look at me like that again" Garroth says guiltily.
We're both hiding behind a bush listening in on Y/n.
"Garroth do you really want your baby sister to break her heart again?" I say.
"Well no. But this just seems like the wrong way to go about things"
"But nothing. We're doing this to protect her"
"I guess you're right. So what's the plan?"
Y/n P.O.V
"Thanks Mrs Lucinda's Mom"
"You're welcome. I'll be out for the whole night so don't destroy everything while I'm gone"
"If you don't mind we asking. Where are you going?"
"I've got to do some set up for the Witches exam on Friday"
"Witches exam?"
"Yes the Witches exam. Every witch has to take one. Even Lucinda, though unless she finds a familiar by Friday she might not pass. Though you don't need one to pass, it would be better for her grades if she had one"
"Is it hard to get one?"
"Some what, it has to be an animal which she has a strong connection with and then during the exam we do a spell to bind their souls together"
"What's the point in having one, if you don't need to?"
"Familiar's help control and strengthen their masters magic and they are also a loyal companion. So it's good to keep one around. Though if one dies, it's like loosing a piece of your soul, so some witches choose not to have one. Anyway that's enough of an old woman's rambling. I'm sure you have work to do"
"Well I do. But I don't mind talking, it's interesting learning about how magic and all that works. I'm clueless when it comes to that stuff"
"I would have thought you'd know something about magic, considering you're a magical creature yourself"
"You know about that?"
"A trained witch can sense magic in all its forms. And you my dear a undoubtably magic. It's subtle, but it's there. If you want to know more, you can always ask my daughter, you being her girlfriend after all"
"You know?!?"
"Well you're here setting up for what I assume is a date. And I didn't have to drag Lucinda out of bed since she was already up and getting ready this morning. She was practically glowing"
I stay silent and smile to myself.
"Well I'll leave you too it then. Have fun"
"Thanks Mrs Lucinda's Mom" I say as she leaves. I turn around and start work.
I move the sofa and TV outside. Put dinner in the oven to cook. And set up a small table in between the sofa and TV where I can put dinner. I then grab a ladder and tie one end of the fairy lights to the house. I then shift into a cat, climb up to the roof. Grab the end of the fairy lights in my mouth and run up and down the trees. Once I make it back to the house, though on the other side of the garden making it so the lights go round the whole garden, I hop down and shift back inside my clothes. I stand up and look at my hard work, switching on the fairy lights.
The scene is set.

Anyone notice the use of italic and bold. Looks like I'm stepping up in the world. The world of writing that is. I'm not going anywhere in real life considering I've sprained my leg and so can't walk. Yeah it's a long story. Also, two chapters in two days, maybe a third tomorrow? Who knows. Well anyone who's reading this after the next chapter is up knows. But I don't. Anyway cya next time.
