Y/N
I was worried for Deku and Uraraka, since they seemed really out of it after their battle. Iida was named MVP of the battle, to which Yaoyarozu explained to the class why. I shot her a small smile as she finished, in awe of her inspection abilities.
Now it was my turn. I was nervous of course, but I realized something when the teams were announced. I would be on the villain team with Ojiro, and we'd be going up against Todoroki and Shoji. I walked over to Todoroki, tugging on his sleeve.
"Um.. please don't hold back today, Todoroki-kun!" I squeal, just barely loud enough for him to hear. He saw me in my weakened state. Normally if I was in a real battle my mind would've been distracted from those feelings, focusing on the battle in front of me. However.. just standing there and watching, not being able to do anything took its toll on my mental state.
His eyes flashed with a hint of.. concern(?) before he nodded and turns away. "Oh by the way, just Todoroki is just fine."
After that, I head back to Ojiro as we begin formulating a strategy. "I saw him use ice during the quirk assessment test, so his quirk definitely involves the use of ice somehow." I state as we pool together what information we had.
"His dad is Endeavour, the flame hero so we should probably watch out for fire as well."
I nod, before continuing, "He was a recommendations student, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had a decent amount of control on his quirks either.. Shoji on the other hand can't do long ranged attacks, because his quirk isn't suited for that. He'll probably be able to tell Todoroki exactly where we are though.."
I pause, thinking before I continue. "Todoroki is probably smart, so he'll want to wrap things up as quickly as possible, and the quickest way to do that would be freezing the building and us in our tracks."
Ojiro nods, catching on. "So assuming he'll try to do that first, we'll counter with your fire then?" I nod.
He appears to be blushing slightly, making my arms unconsciously wrap themselves around my body.
I continue, "If he does decide to use his flames, I can make a protective barrier for you. I have quite the resistance to strong flames, so I should be fine. If I stay here to guard the weapon, do you think you capture Shoji?"
He replies, "Yeah, I think I can do that."
Once we get inside and set up the bomb, Toshi tells us that the heroes are entering. I look out the window just in time to see them walk in, while Shoji walks back out a few seconds later. 'When I thought they wanted to get this over quickly, I didn't think it would be that fast..'
"Ojiro, trust me for a second okay?" He nods, as I feel the air begin to chill.
Producing Purple Flame, I create a slide and send him down, making sure he was safe before facing the doorway. I could hear the cracking of ice heading my way, so I quickly put a sphere like shape of fire surrounding the weapon, so the ice wouldn't be able to reach it. After that, I put a ring of Orange Flame around myself.
"Are you okay?" I whisper to Ojiro through my circlet.
"Yea.. he hasn't seen me yet," he replies.
"Todoroki is getting close, so we probably won't be able to talk again until this is over."
"Got it. I'll leave him to you then," he states before cutting out.
The dual-haired boy appears before me, his expression emotionless as ever. The rest of the room, aside from where I and the weapon stood, was covered in ice. I stare at him, trying my best not to be intimidated.
'I was right.. now if Ojiro manages to capture Shoji, it'll be up to me to take on Todoroki.' Suddenly, he sends spikes of ice towards me quickly, almost not giving me enough time to leap away. Since the room was small, there was no point in using my wings because the semi-delicate feathers would most likely end up getting frozen.
I can see his flushed cheeks, reminding me once again what Midnight had done to my costume. 'Speaking of Midnight.. I think I have an idea.'
Crouching down, I make contact with the ground and send Blue Flame throughout the entire building. I made it purposefully the weakest I could in hope of not burning it down, while still sending out plenty of calming energy throughout the area.
You see, my Blue Flame was already naturally one of the more gentler ones. It radiates calmness, which I multiplied this time around. Too much calmness would create drowsiness, and in return put my victims to sleep.
Seeing that he was about to pass out, I glow up my legs with Yellow Flame, rushing over to catch him while wrapping capture tape around his wrists. 'Oops.. I might've overdone it a bit.. Dang, Midnight would be so proud of me right now.' I think, immediately regretting the decision.
"The villain team.. Wins!!" I hear Uncle Toshi say through the loudspeaker. I smile, silently thanking Ojiro for all his help.
I lay Todoroki down on the ground before going outside to check out what had happened. Surely enough, Shoji had capture tape wrapped around him and was sitting on the floor, in a mess of tape. 'Oh dear..'
After making sure there wasn't anyone else in the building, I lift up Todoroki again, placing him on a small island I made out of Purple Flame. Touching the floor once again, I melt all the ice, sending blue flame out once again, but this time without the energy and with a little more heat. The whole building glowed blue, as the ice disappeared leaving droplets of water in its tracks.
I bend down to wake up Todoroki, but see him sleeping soundly. 'Yeah.. I definitely overdid it this time.'
After sending a little bit of Yellow Flame energy through his body to wake him up, I step back as he jolts awake. He narrows his eyes, taking in his surrounding before landing his gaze on me. I give him a shy smile and a wave, before walking over to help him up.
"My team lost, didn't we?" He asks, although by the slight disappointment on his face I could tell he already knew, somehow.
"Mhm," I nod, "You didn't hold back or anything.. did you?" He shook his head.
I shoot him another smile before waving a goodbye and jogging off to join the rest of the class.
The rest of the battles flew by relatively quickly, or it just felt that was because I was exhausted from overusing my quirk.
Toshi ends the class by stating we'd all done fairly well for our first day of battle training, before sending us off. I wanted to ask him about why he seemed to be stalking Deku the other day, but it seemed like he had some business to attend to. 'Next time then,' I tell myself, before heading over to Recovery Girl's office.
When I got there though, I heard a voice I hadn't expected to hear.
"I apologize, Recovery Girl." 'Uncle Toshi?'
"Don't apologize time me!" She yells back at him quietly.
Not wanting to eavesdrop on them, I open the door slowly. Inside Deku was lying on the bed, fairly battered but less than when I'd last seen him. The 2 adults didn't seem to notice me, since Recovery Girl was facing away from me and Toshi kept nervously glancing at Deku. Then I heard something that made my heart stop.
"This is that despicable power you've granted him. The least you can do is refrain from indulging him!" Recovery Girl scolds, before turning around after hearing my gasp. 'That.. ohhh, that explains a lot'.
"Y/N-! I can explain-" he starts, but I cut him off.
"It's all fine! I was wondering why you were stalking Deku yesterday, haha. It makes sense. So he's the next one, I'm assuming?"
Toshi nods as I direct my attention to Recovery Girl. "I take it he's probably pretty tired, so if it's alright can I heal him?" I ask, glancing at the greenette's sleeping form.
"Go ahead, dearie. Just be careful you don't overwork yourself." I grin at her, striding over to Deku, gently gripping his arm that seemed to be the most injured before activating my Green Flame.
"So, you still wanna explain, Uncle Toshi?" He gulps as I turn to him.
"Well.. I saw potential in him a few months back so I started to train him.. he got into UA, and you basically know the rest." I nod, before breaking into a smile.
"You should've told me! I knew~ I felt something familiar that day," I smirk slightly, teasing him. I look back down at Deku, who seems to be mostly healed now. "Anyways~ I should probably head back before Dad kills me again, haha," I wave goodbye to the both of them, stealing one last glance at Deku before leaving.
Midoriya
I woke up in a cot, specifically, one of the ones in Recovery Girl's office.
"Hello, dear."
"O-oh, hello.. I'm sorry for the inconvenience I've caused you," I mumble.
"It's not an inconvenience at all, it is my job after all. Honestly, you shouldn't have been healed yet until tomorrow morning, but Y/N came in earlier and finished the process up. All Might was here too. He wanted me to let you know that Y/N knows about your power now, and that it's completely fine." She sighed, before continuing. "You really need to learn how to use your quirk in a less destructive manner, dearie."
I nod, still fazed at the last few sentences she had relayed to me.
'Y/N visited me..?'
My cheeks flushed as I buried my face into my pillow, groaning. 'I'll have to thank her later too'.
I felt.. kind of happy that she was here. She's so.. sweet.

And that was the end of that exhausting day.
