At the bridge, they see the others, Luka's phone ringed, he walks down a little bit, and takes the call.
Alya: Thanks again for agreeing to come with us.
Marinette: Sure thing. So what should we do?
Alix: We could go see the new movie that's playing in the theater.
Alya: Maybe.
Ivan: I heard the museum is displaying a new Ice Age exhibit. It would be cool to check that out.
Alix: Oh yeah. My dad told me about that. They're presenting the display today.
Rose: Wow.
Nino: I heard there's a carnival in town. We could all go there.
Max: Sounds fun.
Mylene: Cool.
Timmy: Never been to a carnival before. It could be fun.
Alya: So we all agree to go? *Everybody agreed to that.* Okay. Let's go. *They all start walking, Marinette sees Luka, and she decides to go up to him. *
Luka: Thanks. Bye. *He hangs up. *
Marinette: Hey.
Luka: Hey.
Marinette: Come on, we're going to the carnival.
Luka: Okay. But... there's something I have to tell you.
Marinette: What?
Luka: I got accepted to a university.
Marinette: That's great.
Luka: But here's the thing. I'm leaving Paris.
Marinette: You're leaving?
Luka: Just for 4 years.
Marinette: I don't understand.
Luka: I got accepted at a four-year university in England. I start in the fall.
Marinette: I had our summer planned together. You're not gonna be there to spend it with me?
Luka: Of course I will. I'm not leaving in the summer, I leave in the fall. We'll still spend some time together.
Marinette: But it won't be the same.
Luka: It will. Just...
Marinette: Just what?
Luka: I don't want to upset you or anything, I know people do long-distance relationships and it can get hard to do that.
Marinette: So what you're saying is... it's not gonna work for us since you'll be leaving.
Luka: I'm not saying it like that.
Marinette: Then what are you saying?
Luka: I don't know what I'm trying to say. I'm trying to...
Marinette: Trying to what?
Luka: I'm trying to see if this can still work if I'm not here.
Marinette: It won't work if you're far away! I'm finally happy with someone and you're leaving when you know I can't fight my own battle when there's a villain out there. Who knows when that will happen if you're not here?
Luka: I'm not sure if I can go.
Marinette: What?
Luka: I know I got accepted to the school, not sure if I'm ready to go. Not sure if you can handle it without me here. So... I'm gonna think about this.
Marinette: No. You're not dropping out because of me.
Luka: I didn't say I was. I'm just gonna think this over. That's all. Do you understand that?
Marinette: I guess I do.
Luka: There. See. *He kissed her on the cheek. * Nothing to worry about. Even if I am away, I'm gonna visit you, I promise.
Marinette: If you insist, okay.
Alya: Hey lovebirds, we're heading to the carnival. Come on.
Luka: Let's go. *They both walk down the bridge and follow the others. *
