Hyunjae woke up in an unfamiliar yet familiar location. She looked around, Yuta's room. She could tell by the sheets and the posters on the wall. She looked around once more for her phone. It was charging on the bedside table, she picked it up seeing a few messages from Kunhang.

Hyunjae groaned locking her phone as she fell back onto the bed. Since she knew where things were front last time, she got up to freshen herself up. Thank god she didn't drink so much that she had to throw up.
While she said her goodbyes Taeyong was also coming back to his dorm. The events of last night played in his head. He wondered what Yuta was doing with Hyunjae. Hed seen Yuta a couple times when he came over to their dorm to hang out with Sicheng. He didn't know much about him though. He also did recall that he was in one of his composing classes. To be fair he didn't seem shady so that was a huge plus. But then again who knew.
"I what?" Hyunjae gasped in horror at what Kunhang was telling her.
They were currently in his dorm while his roommate was out and about. She was on the couch listening to what had happened last night cause quite frankly she couldn't remember much. All she really remembered was clinging onto Yuta the whole night.
"You wouldn't stop calling him handsome," Hw laughed eating his egg tart.
"You're lying. No wonder he wouldn't tell me before I left this morning," She groaned covering her face.
"Yeah it was hilarious not only that but Taeyong saw you two," He smirked.
"WHAT?!"
"Chill you didn't let me finish. He didn't like see anything but he saw us when we were taking you home. Although nobody was there so. Yeah he just saw you on Yuta's back."
"Oh god he's gonna ask me about it and I'm gonna panic and then-"
"Chill out he probably won't question you. If anything just say you're friends. You are in the same class anyway."
She nodded, "True but like i don't know..."
"You'll be fine I've got your back. And everyone knows I'm the best liar."
She laughed at his response, "Youre right maybe life is finally starting to look up."
Her phone vibrated signaling a text. She opened it. Maybe it wasn't starting to look up.

"Fuck me," she groaned looking at the message.
This wasn't good, this was never good.
"What happened?" Kunhang asked surprised.
"My mom texted saying that we need to talk."
"Like face to face?" Kunhang asked worried.
She shrugged, "I didn't answer. So I don't know. I'll have to answer her to find out."
"You know you're not going to meet her right? She'll probably just do some dumb shit again or try to expose you again," He said.
She sighed knowing he was right, but either way she was going to have meet with her one way or another.
"I know I'll probably ask you to tag along," she chuckled, "I'll answer her later though. I have to ask my sister something though."

She locked her phone groaning. Why her. Why her? She was trying so hard to forget the past but it always managed to find her.
"That bad?" Kunhang asked.
She showed him the conversation. He stared at it wide eyed.
"Sheesh talk about decency."
"It's not her fault I know my mom basically brainwashed her. She's too scared to retaliate even though she's untouchable now."
She kind of felt bad for her sister. When they were younger she tried to stay in the shadows, she always being spoiled by their mom since she was the baby of the family. Whenever Hyunjae did anything bad she would be punished and her sister would watch scared. Hence why she never retaliated against their mother. Even though sometimes she really did deserve it. Her sister's dream wasn't even supposed to become an idol but since their mother pushed her to it, she couldn't say no. There couldn't be another failure in the family.
"She called you Yeojin though. That doesnt sit right with me," He said handing the phone back to her.
"Like I said, brainwashed."
But in all honesty it did bug her. Her sister did push quite a few buttons in their conversation. Though she wasn't gonna let it get to her.
"Wanna go grab a bite?" Kunhang asked with a smile.
"Yes!"

Hyunjae stared at her phone dumbfounded. There was no way out of this. She knew what her mother was capable of, if she wanted her there she'd find a way to get Hyunjae there.
"Someone's thinking."
She completely forgot she was outside. Her last class had ended so she was sitting against the wall of the building.
"You always manage to find me in this big ass campus," Hyunjae raised a brow looking up at Yuta.
"It's a gift," He said sitting down next to her, "What's up? You look like you had a midlife crisis."
She smiled at the joke, "Something like that. Just... family stuff."
"Anything I can do to help?" He asked.
"Unless you have a time machine to stop me from being born then unfortunately no," She chuckled, "But I appreciate the help."
He pouted, "You not being born would kinda suck you know. Just a little bit."
He made a gesture with his hand that reminded her of one of the emojis on her keyboard. The ok one (👌🏽).
"Just a little bit?" She smiled.
In all honesty his presence did put her at ease a bit.
"Just a little. Do you think painting will help or some McDonald's?" He asked.
He was done with classes for the day anyway and if he was being honest he hadn't painted in a while.
"How bout both? But I'll buy this time," She said standing up.
Hyunjae was getting a bit hungry. Her plan was to go get something to eat after class but those texts from her mom really did a number on her.
Yuta gleamed at her response, "I'm down!"
Hyunjae held her hand out for him to take. He took her hand as he stood up.
"Wow how sweet," Yuta teased but he did think it was cute how she was the one helping him up. He didn't let go of her hand either.
They walked to his dorm happily talking about their day as well as the plans for later.
The pair painted for a good two hours and then ate their food as it arrived. After eating they took a break to let the paint dry. Hyunjae say on the couch and Yuta laid on it with his legs over hers.
"Did Kunhang tell you about the deal you and I made?" He asked her out of the blue.
She shook her head intrigued, "No he only told me the embarrassing parts of the story."
"Oh we agreed to get a piercing together," he smirked.
"HUH! I WOULD NEVER!" She said standing up quickly in shock.
She forgot that Yuta had his legs on her so he fell off the couch. He hit the floor with a thud.
"Oh fuck! Sorry!" she panicked crouching down next to him.
She didn't mean to knock him off the couch but she panicked. She would never agree to get another piercing even if it was with him.
He sat up laughing, "it's okay I'm fine. I just didn't think you'd react like that."
"Are you sure you're not hurt?" She asked forgetting about everything else.
"I'm fine I swear. I think you forget that I play soccer. I've fallen on things way harder than this," He smiled reassuring her.
Oh right.
"Still, I was scared. That was scary," she said letting out a breath of relief.
"You got hella flustered," he chuckled, "It was cute."
She narrowed her eyes at him, "Dont try and change the subject here. When did I agree to getting a piercing?"
He laid back down on the floor, hey it was comfortable, with a smile.
"After the club the other day on our way home," He said gesturing for her to lay down.
"I don't believe you," She said laying down regardless.
It didn't sound like something she would agree to even while drunk. Needles scared her shitless, so why?
He put his arm around her with a chuckle, "Just ask Kunhang, but it's not like I'm gonna force you to do it. I was just asking cause I wanna get another piercing soon so I thought might as well."
She pursed her lips, "What are you getting?"
He shrugged, "I don't know I haven't decided. Maybe another earring, maybe nose, or I might surprise you and her a belly button piercing."
She chuckled, "I don't doubt you would. But I don't know I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to needles."
She got her ears pierced when she was quite young so she doesn't remember it. But she does remember going to the doctor and getting flu shots and things like that, the needles were always the scariest part. The dentist was just as bad for her like when they had to remove cavities. So to numb her gum they'd use a giant needle. It freaked her out that they had to put her in anesthetic.
"It's like I said I won't force you," He said genuinely, "It was just to tease you and to remind you to never make any promises while drunk."
She smiled, "Noted. Now I think the paints dry."
He nodded already knowing that, "I know let's just stay like this for a few more minutes. I'm tired."
She couldn't even go against him, she too was kind of tired. The day was pretty overwhelming.
"Okay but can I do something to your hair? There's something I've been dying to do."
"You got it wannabe."
"Man fuck you!"
