You already noticed that this time Shi Shen particularly focuses on his job so most of the time it is about the Entertainment industry this is an indirect way to say that Shi Shen begins to enjoy his life.
In the previous worlds, the story revolved around him going his way to do missions but this is the other way around in Arc 4.
You may wonder why both of them never say 'I love you' to each other. One of the reasons being that both of them are not used to say those words so they particularly value them. They want to confess at the right time and place to be something like a memorable memory for them.
Unfortunately, due to this, they miss the timing to say to each other.
And the reason why Shi Shen did not say it even till his last breath because he knew that it is useless doing so since he is going to leave soon and it will be more painful for Gao Chen that's why he ended it up with just a simple goodbye.
I will cut you some slacks and will not write Gao Chen's ending so it might be less depressing to read....probably.
