"I think this is a good spot." Homura said. Currently, you were all trying to find a new location to hide out in for tonight. So far, nothing was going well. At this point, everyone was frustrated as Rei kept catching a scent that was too close by.

"There's a scent nearby." Rei commented.

And it looks like Homura had enough. "Ah of course. Let me just call a realtor and ask if there's an apartment without any ghouls nearby. I'm sure they'll be able to recommend a few places." The sentences alone dripped with sarcasm.

Fortunately, Rei was patient. "Sorry." He apologized. "I don't want them to attack you guys while we sleep."

Meanwhile, you were tired. You hung out in the back with Michael and Aika. These two have given up long ago as Rei kept on catching the damn scents near windows and doors. You three were patiently waiting for any order. Your eyes were already starting to slip close from the lack of sleep.

"I told you we should just be in an empty apartment." Aika muttered.

Rei nodded. "I think we have to. I think there's got to be some over there." He pointed at a large building that looked a bit dated. So there you guys went again. The leader picked a random balcony, looking at the couple of plants on it. As everyone crowded on the small balcony, Rei tested the sliding door and was surprised that it was unlocked. He went in first and lucky for everyone - there were no signs of anyone there!

It was almost empty inside. Just a couple of couches and chairs with paintings on the wall. You tiredly stood in the middle of the room, looking at the updated kitchen. Rei continued to investigate the place and he came to the conclusion that there was no one there. "Looks like it was just for show." He said and even you could smell the human who used to be here.

Aika nodded as she looked at the kitchen. "Yeah. They were supposed to sell it this weekend." That explained the furniture. Probably to draw in clients.

"We'll stay the night here. Is that good for everyone?" He asked and everyone quickly nodded so that he wouldn't change his mind. Finally, you took a seat on one of the chairs and the others did too. You slipped off your mask to relinquish the somewhat cool and stale air of the apartment. Resting your head back, your eyes closed. You were still tired from last night. Adding lack of sleep and with all this running around to find a temporary location in the sun? It was no wonder why you immediately slipped into sleep.

Someone shook you awake and you slowly opened your eyes. Michael's worried face appeared before you. "Y/N? Are you okay?" He whispered.

"Yeah." You mumbled, confused on why you were being awoken.

Michael scowled a bit. "You sure? You were muttering in your sleep."

Were you? How come you couldn't remember any dream or something? All you knew was that the sun changed positions in the sky. Judging by the sunlight, you could guess it was in the afternoon. "Was I?

"Yes." Michael just gave you a smile. "Go back to sleep." He said and you nodded. You snuggled back into the cushioned chair and closed your eyes. Michael stared at you a bit, worried about you. He had never seen you do that. Mumbling something along the lines of; "Please don't tell the Doves."

He walked back to the other cushioned chair and relaxed in it. Rei had woken up from the whispers he heard. He relaxed seeing Michael return to his spot. The girls continued to sleep, unaware. Michael closed his eyes. They all better get sleep before the day turned into night. After all, Rei was planning a surprise attack when night fell.

"And that's it." Re concluded his plan.

It was simple. Rei got his information of three buildings that the Akari Ki were inhabiting. Two small buildings in the city and a large one almost on the edge of the city. The plan was simple. Rei was going to tip off the Doves to one of the smaller buildings. Then you guys were going for the other smaller one. The large building will be last.

And hopefully, Doves weren't going to attack the small building you guys were infiltrating.

Everyone agreed to the plan. Your heart was thumping in anticipation. Soon, you'll eliminate her. It was only a matter of time. Good thing that you were feeling rested. Everyone slipped on their masks (yours was a bit damaged from yesterday and luckily Homura fixed it to the best of her ability) and filed out of the building, heading to the building where the Doves were. The four of you were patient as Rei slipped out a piece of paper from his pocket. You took notice that it was one of the flyers back in the apartment.

He descended down the building you guys were on and crossed the street. You watched as he tugged up his hood and hovered around the front doors. You were taking a guess that it might be a lobby or something. He gave it a tug to find that it was locked. So, he slipped the paper underneath the door. Like a cheetah, he returned to you guys.

A couple of minutes later and you could see vans pull out of a nearby garage. The familiar vans brought back distant memories. After getting the confirmation, the group finally headed to the building. It was time to start the plan.

You knew why they would choose this building. It was obviously abandoned with the 'For Sale' sign already rotting away. Overgrown weeds everywhere, making the concrete place look creepy. Now all you have to do is enter it. As you guys descended, your footsteps were quiet and every step that was taken, your senses were on high alert. Nearing the front, you crouched by the open doorway and took a peek inside.

There were a few ghouls scattered around, sleeping. You could only wonder how many other ghouls they were upstairs. Rei went in first then followed by the rest of you. Everyone was quiet as you all neared the sleeping ghouls. Your eyes switched over to a ghoul and your kagune released itself.

A slight stir from the ghouls that you stood by. And then it was done. Your three tentacles stabbed through three nearby ghouls, your family was doing the same thing. Trying to elimate the ghouls in the most quietest and quickest way possible. Although it did not go your way.

At the far end of the room, a ghoul sat up quickly. Their eyes flashed and their foggy mind tried to make sense of the situation. Getting a ghoul off your kagune, you shot it towards them. It pierced right through them and you thanked the sluggish movements of sleep when they tried to run. Clearing the first floor, there were two more floors.

The second one went like the first one. Sadly, you guys would have to fight as more ghouls resided on the third floor. You took out three more ghouls and these ones finally woke up. It caught your attention. Were they overworking the ones below them? Is that why the first two floors didn't hear you?

You spun around blocking a knife looking kagune with one of your tentacles. You wrapped the tentacle around their kagune, snapping it towards the concrete ceiling and with the infamous move - you pierced them right through their chest. Blood sprouted everywhere as the ghoul slipped from your hold. Then you started to fight off another ghoul who had a single fish type of kagune. Bikaku. Unfortunately for them, they went down easy. Suddenly your eyes caught a ghoul slipping out from a window.

You shot a tentacle to them but they dodged by the closest centimeter and your kagune instead made a dent in the concrete wall. "Rei!" You shouted, for once unsure what to do.

"Kill them!" Rei yelled back. His kagune held back a ghoul. "Make sure they don't inform the others!"

With the order given, you slipped out of the window and followed the ghoul. You hopped from building to building, thinking of a way to intercept them. Hope was finally brought into the horizon when there was a building that could give you an advantage. Straight ahead, you could see that this ghoul was going to have to make quite a few jumps to scale the tall buildings. Hoping that the ghoul didn't see you, you jumped to the other side of the street and you barely caught the edge of it. You ran the fastest you ever did to the building.

Why would it give you an advantage? It looked like it was under renovations so you slipped through the empty windows and landed in the path of your prey. A grin stretched across your face seeing them look shocked. "Decided to leave the party?"

The ghoul didn't answer you instead taking a couple of steps back. Wisps formed and two tentacles popped out. "If that's how you want to be..." You attacked first.

The ghoul dodged and shot out one of theirs. In the nick of time, your tentacle blocked it. Then, with a smile, you wrapped your tentacle around theirs. Confused, they  tried tugging it away but couldn't. Like you would be weaker than them. You shot your tentacle but it was blocked by the free one of theirs. With a tsk, you brought down your last one right into their skull. Blood splattered onto your clothes. With a sigh, you let your kagume disappear.

It was almost time.
