"someone's here" he said
"well, you have a mask. we can just leave." eddie suggested
"yeah? and go where?" spiderman started "they probably followed may back to my house. they know that we would probably go there."
eddie started to freak out, spiderman's hands on both his arms in an attempt to calm him down but the attempt blew out the window when a policeman bursted into the room pointing a gun.
"oh fuck." eddie cursed backing up, hand in hand with spiderman.
just their luck they were close to a hole in the building, and just their luck, it was extremely high up.
eddie continued backing up from the policeman, spiderman was steading his web shot for the gun. you could tell the officer wasn't well trained, as he was blatantly shaking the gun in front of the boys faces. he looked scared as well.
spiderman took his shot, his web was weak signifying that his web shooters were running short. though, the web still knocked the gun out of the policeman's hand. the policeman started reaching behind him- probably for a taser. this made eddies breathing heighten and he took another step back.
"STOP MOVING!" the policeman yelled, pointing the taser.
spiderman went to take a step back to be closer to eddie when his foot caught on a ledge and he stumbled. spidermans hand was intertwined with eddies so he couldn't stable himself as he started to fall backwards. eddie looked behind them and suddenly everything was in slow motion as they feel. the ground became closer and closer, spiderman squeezed eddies hand and felt the wind blow on his back. he tried shooting his webs but he was out. there was nothing he could do.
connor was watching from the street, he saw his twin brother and spiderman start falling out of the building. at first he was struck but he needed to act quick. he hopped onto his drone and called for two more drones. connor flew underneath spiderman and eddie to try catching them with his strength and the power of the drone. to his luck, it worked. eddie and spiderman were slowed down enough for the two other drones to catch up and land safely underneath them.
eddie clung onto the drone- they were still really high off of the ground. spiderman stuck to the drone with his fingers, confused. he didn't know why connor would save them after he was a complete asshole and they were assholes back.
"connor?" eddie asked, clutching the drone with his life
"listen eddie." connor started while the drones set turned them invisible to everyone around "i'm sorry. i am. i have a lot of explaining to do."
"yeah no shit." spiderman rolled his eyes though no one would see through the mask. eddie would elbow him so hard if he could.
the drones landed on top of a random building, to make sure no policeman could find them. although there were helicopters out, they stayed on their drones and stayed invisible.
"speak." spiderman said taking off his black converse with white doodles and pouring out two new cartridges of webbing. eddie elbowed him as he snapped them on his wrists.
"connor, how did you even know we were twins in the first place?" eddie asked.
"dad. he told me a few days ago, i'm still getting used to the news too." connor started "before we were born, obviously- beck and sonia met, fell in love, and had us. they divorced and dad took me while sonia got you. i guess she remarried in order for you to have a dad which.. didn't work out." connor said, he scratched his head while spiderman got closer to eddie. eddie held out his hand so spiderman could hold it.
connors eyes glared.
eddie stayed silent, half expecting connor to continue talking. but connor kept his mouth shut, the three boys sat in awkward silence until
connor spoke up again.
"eddie, i know we got off on a bad foot but.. since i'm your brother do you think you could give me a second chance?" connor asked
"..second chance?" eddie repeated harshly "second chance!" he stood up and yelled into connors face, jumping off the drone. "do you have any idea what you put me through! remember the day after the amusement park when i went to get an inhaler and you fucking jumped me! what the fuck is wrong with you!"
"i what!" connor backed up, surprised. "eddie i would never hurt you like that." connor shook his head.
eddie lifted up richies frog shirt and showed the faded bruises that connor left on his body. connor covered his mouth with his hands in shock.
"you think i did this?" he started tearing up "ed's i'm so sorry but, i would never hurt someone like that. you know how weak i am, right?"
"one, it's eddie. two, i do know how weak you are. you're too weak to admit to your own failures." eddie snarled
"eddie, sorry. i don't know what you saw or what you think but.. a human can't cause that kind of bruising." connor said, running his finger gently over his bruises.
"what do you mean?" eddie asked, pulling away from connors touch and letting richies shirt fall back over his body.
"i personally know that when someone gets beat up like that- their bruises don't look that way." connor said crossing his arms, he looked down at his shoes.
"how would you even know that?" spiderman asked, suspiciously.
"dad." connor said
before connor could explain more a helicopter roared close to the building, and that's when eddie realized that his drone was gone- there was no way to turn him invisible again. a reporter started filming eddie, walking closer. eddie has no place to escape.
spiderman stuck out his hand and pulled eddie onto his drone even though the both of them would be to heavy. Spiderman tried swing away still on the drone but ended up not getting far before the drone fell- but that didn't matter now because they were swinging away leaving connor on the roof.
barley escaping, spiderman was able to not get caught by that helicopter again, he swung for about 10 minutes nearing the trainstation. spiderman landed in top of a train that was heading for new jersey. luckily the train had an open car door so the boys swung inside. the whole ride neither eddie or richie spoke, they didn't have any words.
eddie dropped his head into his knees and hugged himself tightly. richie considered just options and decided to stay put, he didn't want to fuck up eddies mood anymore than he felt he already had.
but eddie needed his comfort. eddie needed something that never came.
