Emily's PoV
"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks," Edward explains fighting tactics, "Jane and Alec will try and take me out first because I can anticipate their moves."
Garrett sighs gazing over to Bella, "Too bad we don't all have your shield."
Bella shrugs folding her arms across her chest, "Doesn't help me fight, though."
"No, but you could help the rest of us, if you could project it," Tanya smiles.
"What do you mean?" Bella asks blinking in confusion.
I roll my eyes, "She means if you could shield someone other than yourself."
Bella looks at us her eyes lighting up with curiousity, "Is that possible?"
Carlisle nods contemplating, "Gifts can be developed. Over time."
Kate grins, "At first, mine was just in my palms," she gestures twisting her wrist, "Now I can radiate it all over my body."
"How do you do it?" Bella questions stepping forward.
Kate looks at her blankly, so Bella reaches and grabs her hand hard, it cracking under Bella's newborn strength, "Tell me!"
I chuckle as Kate stares in irritation her eyes flickering from Bella to her trapped hand, "Ow!"

"You need to visualize it," Kate whispers to Bella as we all stand in the back garden, "See how it moves. What color it is. Now picture it expanding."
Bella stands still, focusing deeply.
"Will it to go beyond you," Kate mumbles as I watch Bella sigh frustrated.
Stepping out of her concentration she looks up at us, "I can't do this."
Kate turns to Edward, "I think she needs something to motivate her."
I bite my lip, my eyes rolling lazily while I lean against the tree trunk, watching as Edward steps forward.
Bella's eyes widen as she realises what is happening, "No!"
"It's all right, I can take it."
Garrett laughs, "He says that now."
I grin, raising my eyebrows at Bella who continues to gaze at us in horror.
Emmett smirks, "Focus, Bella, or he's gonna be hurting."
Edward slowly puts his hand up close to Kate.
Bella shakes her head profusely, "Edward, I'm not ready to do this yet."
Kate wraps her hand around Edward's wrist a painful shock flowing through him.
Within seconds of enduring the pain Kate releases Edward who turns to Bella, a slightly pissed expression on his face. I bite my lip to surpress a laugh.
Bella shies away from her husband, "I'm sorry. I said that I wasn't ready."
Emmett steps forward, clapping Edward's shoulder, "Dude, you're not motivating her. "
"You want to try?" Edward retorts annoyance in his eyes.
Emmett puts his hand up in mock surrender, stepping back next to me.
They try again but it doesn't work, getting frustrated I intervene, "C'mon guys, this isn't really going anywhere."
Edward gives me a pointed look, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Move!" I demand, shoving Edward out the way.
"Emily it's not going to work with you, your immune," Edwards murmurs, taking a stand next to Emmett.
"Oh please, my sister may love you, but Bella and I have a special bond, she wouldn't let me get hurt," I say turning to look at Kate.
"Besides I think I can turn this shield thing off," I mutter, "Might as well take the chance to peak into my thoughts," I wink at him.
I stand up straight, my eyes narrowing on the nearby mossy stone. Taking a deep breathe, I close my eyes.
A sharp pain huts my heart as though I had just been stabbed. I fall to my knees, opening my eyes to spot my sister clutching her chest, feeling a murmur of my pain.
I struggle to stand, eventually making my way to my feet, looking over at my sister, "Let's get on with it."
I hold out my waiting hand in front of Kate, "Go easy the first time."
She rolls her eyes but nods all the same, holding her own hand.
Slowly I press my hand against hers.
A huge electric current zaps into my palm.
I scream out in pain, "Jesus Fuck!"
I step back rubbing down my hand, looking down at the small burn.
"That bloody hurts," I growl, watching as the wound slowly heals.
My eyes flare at my sweet sister who looks at me opened mouthed her face full of shock, mixed with guilt.
"Bella," I face her, "I love you I do...but...what the hell happened?"
She shakes her head out of a trance, fumbling over her words, "I....I didn't think...anything wou..would happen....to you."
I inhale sharply, "Sis, get yourself together. You can do this, you just have to believe it's actually possible."
She steadies her breathing.
"Now, please focus, " I glint my eyes over to Kate who smiles devilishly, "Kate is gonna go full power now, no doubt."
Bella blinks several times struggling to focus under the sudden pressure.
I raise my hand up to Kate who leans forward twisting her palm around my forearm.
Bright blue sparks absorb into my semi marble skin.
I scrunch my eyes up in anticipation of the pain.
And yet none came, nothing but a constant stinging sensation.
I blink open my eyes, turning to my sister happily feeling a weird aroma hugging me.
Kate releases my arm as I smile.
"It's slightly painful, but bearable," I mutter, a huge smile creeping in my face.
Bella races forward hugging me tightly, I accept, punching her in the shoulder once she releases me.
She frowns holding her elbow, "What was that for?"
"For letting me get hurt," I raise my eyebrows.
She smiles shaking her head in amusement.
I look at Edward, "Well it's up to you now. I'm gonna put my shield back up. I mean that shit hurts like a bitch."
Edward rolls his eyes, as I step back feeling a warm fuzzy sensation in my heart. I let out a pent up breathe.
Edward sighs, "I can't read you thoughts anymore."
I wink at him, "It's not like you really want to be in my head."
I chuckle knowing all he saw was Jasper and I.
He looks at me with disgust, flipping me off as I walk away.

"Leah," I call out, moving to take a seat next to her on a log near a flowing river.
She turns her head, a small smile on her face, "Emily."
Fumbling with my hands, I decide to get to know Leah a little more.
"How have you been?" I ask calmly, throwing a rock in the water.
She sighs, "Getting used to phasing, being surrounded by bloodsuckers all day or the fact that I've imprinted on your son?"
I chuckle, "All of it, I guess. But let's start at the beginning."
She rolls her eyes throwing her own rock in the flowing water.
"Tell me what life was like before you phased..."
"It was amazing, like I had nothing to worry about but school and...and...Sam...." She trails.
I sit in silence letting her explain at her own pace.
"I met Sam roughly four years ago during school on the reservation," She fiddles with the hem of her white vest, "We became fast friends and I ended up falling in love with him."
Her face turns from content to extreme bitter, "That's when he disappeared. For two weeks. At the time I had no idea he had phased."
"What happened?" I question, placing my hand comfortingly in her shoulder.
"He became highly distant, overwhelmingly hot and almost aggressive in nature."
"Because of his transition..."
She nods, "Yes. But that's not where my disgust comes from. That spawned when Sam broke my heart, leaving me..for someone else...for my cousin."
"Emily Young?" I murmur.
"Of course I had no idea Sam had imprinted on her. I assumed that the last three years meant absolutely nothing to him, that he just used me."
"But now?"
"Now I'm finally able to release those unwanted memories and move on to something better," she explains, "Imprinting on your son has freed me from my own personal hell. And for that I'm truly grateful."
I smile reaching out to squeeze her hand, "I'm glad you're able to feel happiness once again."
She offers a lopsided smile, "What about you?"
I turn my gaze from the clear ripples of the river over to her.
"You and Jasper?"
I smile in amusement, "Now that's an interesting story..." I mumble delving into a tale, "It all started two year ago..."

A knocking on the front door woke me from my brief nap on the sofa in front of the raging fire.
Rubbing my golden eyes, I stand up stumbling over to the door. I pull it open revealing my dear sister, looking highly nervous.
"Hey Bells," I greet, cracking the door open further.
"Hey Em, can I come in?" She asks, an unreadable look in her eyes.
I nod, gesturing for her to come inside.
She wanders into the living taking a seat on the sofa as I close the door behind her.
"So...how are you?" She questions, crossing her legs turning to face me.
I sigh, "Honestly, I'm not sure. Lots is happening at the moment that I feel as though I'm unable to process what is really happening."
"And Jasper?"
"Losing him, again, is like a knife to the heart. But I know for sure that this time, he will be back. And when he returns I may give him a piece of my mind, before relishing in my love for him."
She smiles, the aura turning to one of silence as I look up at her expectantly.
"What are you doing here?"
She raises her eyebrows, "What do you mean?"
"Is there something you wish to talk to me about, other than my husband?"
A sheepish expression covers her face, "Actually, yes, there is."
"I would like you to join me to come meet someone," she mutters lowly, "I figured out the meaning behind Alice's note. It instructed me to tell you, but I can't explain everything right now, not with ears listening in all the time."
I nod, "I understand. We can go when we drop Renesmee and Matthew off at Dad's."
"Okay," she whispers, "That sounds good to me."
