Narrator's P.O.V
Our heroes are rested well and are still fast asleep, meanwhile the early riser Valarie cook up breakfast for the trainers while their Pokémon stretch and exercise for the trial and for whatever Pokémon they're about to face. But while they are training Ruth decided to take a couple of food to a certain Pokémon to regain his strength.
No One's P.O.V
Early rise in the morning, Valarie woke up bright an early to make everyone breakfast, Ruth woke up with Rocky to see if anyone was watching, he then quietly takes two pancakes and goes back to Bella's backpack where he rummage around for the Poke ball he's looking for and found it. He brought it out and clicked it to let out Nickit, he handed Nickit a pancake while he ate the other. They both happily ate pancakes together until they were interrupted by the sound of Rocky bark.
B.U.S.T.E.D
Ruth and Nickit looked down ashamed while Rocky scolded them both, one for convincing Ruth to steal, two for Nickit following us as he his still not completely healed yet. But Nickit soon explained to Rocky why he followed them in the first place, it took Rocky a while but she was convinced that Nickit wanted to be a part of Bella's team, but didn't know why he didn't just showed them that he wanted to join Bella's team in the first place. But before she could get an answer, the kids were beginning to wake up and Nickit returned in it's poke ball while Rocky told Ruth to act like he's playing with the poke ball, and that's what Ruth began to do.
Bella: [yawn] morning Rocky, huh? Ruth, what did I say? be careful, I can't lose anymore poke balls
Ruth [Rockruff]: ruff!!
Bella: [yawn] we don't have time to play right now, we have a badge to collect. After breakfast, we'll train
Ruth [Rockruff]: ruff!! Ruff!!
Bella's P.O.V
After Gloria, Hop, and Victor woke up, we ate breakfast, our Pokémon gobbled up their food and smiled happily. After breakfast, Hop decided to help me train to battle, when he got his Grookey out to battle, while I got Boo out to battle, we trained and battled when suddenly we all saw Grookey beginning to evolve. We all stood there and saw Grookey evolve into Thwackey.
Bella: wow, he evolved!
Rotom: time to shine! Thwackey, When it's drumming out rapid beats in battle, it gets so caught up in the rhythm that it won't even notice that it's already knocked out its opponent
Hop: whoa!! No way, that's awesome, mate
Victor: you said it, my Sobble evolved into a Drizzile
Rotom: Drizzile, the water lizard Pokémon, an evolve form of Sobble. Drizzile uses special pores to create water balloons secreted from the moisture in its palms as a use of attack
Gloria: so cool, my Scorbunny already evolved into a Raboot. Come on out! Raboot
Raboot appeared and he looked a lot different, he had his ears down, he looked like he was wearing a hoodie and had his hands in his pockets.
Rotom: Raboot, the Rabbit Pokemon, an evolve for of Scorbunny. It kicks berries right off the branches of trees and then juggles them with its feet, practicing its footwork
Bella: wow, look at that Scorch, you'll evolve into a Raboot soon
Scorch [Scorbunny]: scor!!
Valarie: alright kids, training time is over, now it's time to head to the gym, time to get your grass badge
Victor/Gloria/Hop/Bella: RIGHT!
We all got ready and went up to the Gym, there we all got changed and then registered how many Pokémon we'll take. I was taking Scorch and Ruth. I looked back and saw the rest of my original team and thought maybe if I took Fennekin, maybe I could remember something, so I asked Valarie if I could take Fennekin as part of my team and she agreed, she handed me the poke ball and I placed it on the bench to tie my shoes, when I looked up I saw Ruth trying to grab one of the poke balls and I slightly glared at him and pout at the same time.
Bella: Ruth, what did I say?
Ruth: [whimper] ruff
Bella: I know you wanna play right now, but it's not a perfect time to play. Come on, back in your poke ball you go
I returned Ruth back into the poke ball, and attached the rest of my team onto my belt, I then showed up and followed Victor, Hop, and Gloria to see that we were in a field. When the referee explained to us what the challenge was all about and we all realized that all that Wooloo wrangling was part of our trial practice, Victor, Gloria, Hop, and I had to go one at a time in order to complete the challenge, but we all support each other no matter what. After the Trial, we all waited one by one to go up against Milo until it was my time to shine.
Bella: [gulp] I'm a bit nervous, but I know
I can do this
Valarie: don't worry, the referee is allowing you to use your Z-Ring and Mega Evolution Crystal. You'll be fine
Hop: yeah, we'll be cheering for you from the sidelines
Victor: you'll do great
Gloria: we're here for you no matter what
Bella: okay. I'm ready
I got up from the bench and walked up to the field to meet at the center where Milo was standing, we both faced each other and I was prepared for this battle.
Milo: don't worry Bella, you got this
Bella: okay
Referee: the battle between Gym Leader Milo vs Gym Challenger Bella. Begin!
Milo: alright, Gossifleur, you're up!
Gossifleur: Goss!
Bella: okay, Scorch! Come on out!
Scorch [Scorbunny]: Scor!!
Bella: Scorch! Use Ember!
Milo: Gossifleur, use Magical Leaf!
Bella: be careful Scorch, dodge it!
Scorch dodge Gossifleur's attack and strikes with ember, the battle went on and on until I decided to use my Z-Move.
Bella: alright Scorch, ready to show everyone in Galar what Z-moves are all about
Scorch [Scorbunny]: Scor!!
Bella: let's go! [cross her arm] the fire within us is greater than one, be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. Let's do it Scorch!
Scorch [Scorbunny] Scor!!!
Bella: here we go. INFERNO OVERDRIVE!!!
Just like that he shot a huge ball of fire at Glossifleur, which hit it with a K.O. I was proud of Scorch since he used a Z-Move for the first time, then it was time for the big event, which mean I had to fight harder to beat Milo's last Pokémon, which turned out to be Eldegloss, that's when I started to worry.
Referee: Glossifleur is unable to battle! Milo has released Eldegloss to the field!!
Milo: Woohoo! We're not going to be done in that easy! We're tough as weed! Come on, then! It's Dynamax Time! You're about to be uprooted
Milo then brought Eldegloss back in it's poke ball only for his Dynamax band to activate and create a beach ball like size poke ball, he tossed it up in the air and it released Eldegloss, only he was 10 time bigger than any average size Pokémon. I gulped but still kept my cool, I wasn't backing away from this Pokémon battle.
Milo: this'll really leave you in shock and awe. It's our Dynamax move! Eldegloss! Use Max Overgrowth!!
Bella: oh no
Milo's Pokemon used Max Overgrowth and it caused some serious damage on Scorch, since he still didn't evolve into a Raboot, I was scared but nervous, so I tried using Quick Attack on Eldegloss, but it still didn't have a strong effect. Then before Milo could use another move, Scorch somehow evolved into a Raboot like Gloria's only instead of staying on the field, he fainted from exhaustion.
Bella: Scorch!!
Referee: Scorch is unable to battle!!
Bella: Scorch return [Scorch retuned into the poke ball] 'okay, let's think things through, I only have Ruth and Fennekin, they're my only hope, so maybe Fennekin can help out, that's it!' [take out a poke ball] I hope this works, come on out!!
I tossed my poke ball and out came what I thought was Fennekin, when in reality, it was~ A NICKIT?!?!?!
Bella: Huh?! [froze]
Milo: Huh?
Victor: no way?!
Gloria: is that?!
Hop: the Nickit Bella rescued?!
Valarie: [spit take] but how?!?!
[What Really Happened] No One's P.O.V
While the others were distracted, Rocky created a diversion to catch Val's attention when she decided to pretend that something was bothering her ear while Ruth, grabbed the poke ball that Nickit was in and swapped it in with Fennekin so that Nickit would participate in the gym battle.
[Back to Reality] Bella's P.O.V
Everyone stood there confused of what was going on while Bella stood there frozen like a statue and panicked, Milo noticed how scared I was that he showed the Referee that he needed a time out to see if I was alright, they allowed it and he ran up to me to see if I was okay.
Milo: Bella, are you alright?
Bella: n-n-n-no... I-I-I-I don't know what to do... I don't think I can do this Milo... [sobs] I give up [sobs] I can't be a Pokémon trainer [sobs] I-I-I-If I can't [sobs] battle like a trainer [sobs] [sobs]
Milo: hey, it's alright Bella, you were able to beat my Gossifleur, that's a start
Bella: b-b-but I can't [sniff] I can't dynamax like you Milo [sniff] like Victor, or Gloria [sniff] or anyone. I can't even go near my own p-p-Pokemon [sobs] [sobs]
I was too scared to battle any more, but when I saw Nickit approach me slowly, he sat down and looked at me with a smile. I looked back at him and remember how much I took care of Nickit, and how I saved him from the Murkrow. Nickit was happy when he was with me, so maybe he wanted to be be a part of my team. Which means... He was part of my team back when we camped at the Wild area. I carefully allowed my hand to reach out to pet his head, he slowly approached me and I felt his head on my hand. I looked up and saw Nickit smiling and barking in joy, I smiled and wiped my tears away, we both hear the crowd cheering and I was confused as to why they were cheering. But soon I heard Valarie shout out my name, I looked up and saw Valarie with a Dynamax band, she threw the dynamax band like a baseball pitcher. I ran back a little and reached out to catch it, but it simply slipped into my arm and fit perfectly. I looked back at Nickit and smiled.
Bella: Milo. I'm not giving up just yet, I wanna continue this battle!
Milo: alright then, let's not keep the crowd waiting!
Milo ran back to where his Pokémon waited, and I stood my grounds, I recovered my confidence.
Bella: you ready, Nickit?! Ready to Dynamax?
Nickit: ruff!!
Bella: let's do it!!
I brought Nickit in his poke ball, and watch as my dynamax band activated and created a bigger pokeball, I was able to lift it and toss it up in the air only for me to fall on my butt, I watch as Nickit appeared and he was ten times bigger like Eldegloss. I stood up and looked back and thought back what kind of moves it can use when he's dynamax, then it hit me.
Bella: alright Nickit! Use Max Darkness!!
Nickit used Max darkness and it was incredible, I noticed how it lowered Eldegloss special defense, which means that I could use Max Strike soon, after Eldegloss used Max Overgrowth, I decided to use Max Strike and soon, Eldegloss was defeated. Nickit went back to his normal size and I was shocked yet happy that I won. Everyone cheered, and Nickit was jumping in joy.
Bella: YES!!! WE DID IT!!! NICKIT WE DID IT!!
I ran up to Nickit, lift him up and hugged him close. He rubbed his head against my chest and I rubbed my cheeks against his head.
Bella: we did it, we actually did it... Thank you Nickit, if it weren't for you, I would never be able to continue on
Nickit: ruff!!
Bella: Nickit, I want you to be a part of my team, but once you're a part of my team, you need a nickname... I'll call you... Nico
Nico [Nickit]: [smiles] ruff! Ruff! [barks happily]
Milo: congrats Bella, you finally did it, you conquer that fear of battling and now you won yourself a Grass Gym Badge [offer his hand]
Bella: [takes his hand] [shakes] thank Milo, that was an amazing battle
Voice: an amazing battle indeed, Bella
Bella: huh? [look at the entrance] Leon!
Leon: the one and only, I saw your battle Bella, you were remarkable, you finally got to battle for the first time and now look at you. I Champion Leon proclaim that you Bella are officially a Pokémon trainer!!
[Crowd Cheering]
I smiled and looked back at Nico, I was happy to have Nico as part of my team. Once we left the stadium, Milo gave us a Grass Uniform as a gift for completing the Gym Challenge. Leon has to head back in order to prep for the Championship. As for the rest of us, we went to the Pokémon Center to get our Pokémon healed and be prepared for our next journey to Hulbury. Nico decided to stay on top of my head so he can get a clear eye view, while Ruth insist that he stay next to me when we walk to our next journey.
Narrator's P.O.V
With a surprising addition to Bella's team, Nickit has officially been declared Bella's first Pokémon along with Pumpkaboo. Our heroes completed the challenge and our now heading to Hulbury to collect their Water Gym Badge, as their journey continues.
