Narrator's P.O.V
Our heroes Journey begin as they head out to Turffield, but in order to get to Turffield, they need to go through the Galar Mine. With Bella participating in the Gym Challenge, Victor, Hop, and Gloria are planning to teach Bella everything about Pokémon battling.
Bella's P.O.V
As we journey through Route 3, we ran into Sonia who showed us the area where they dig up stuff in the Galar Mine, so we continued our journey and even ran into some wild Pokémon, but nonetheless we manage to get to the Galar Mine.
Hop: [huff] we finally made it
Gloria: are you sure this is safe?
Valarie: absolutely, there may be some other Pokémon but I'm sure it's safe, if it wasn't we would've taken a Flying Taxi, but this is perfectly safe, and to make you kids happy, I got us some hard helmets
Victor: thanks [place his helmet on]
Bella: [place her helmet on] this should keep us safe
Valarie: yup, now let's go and explore
We all walked into the Galar Mine, and we were all mesmerized by the beautiful star pieces all around, there were so many colors that I wish I could take all of them, but they weren't for us to take, we needed to get to the other side of the Galar Mine and reach to Turffield to face the Grass Gym Leader. After going through the Mine to find our way out, we spotted someone at the exit, it was Bede. I was surprised at first but felt someone wrap their arm around my shoulder and glare at him, it was Hop and he didn't look happy to see him.
Bede: Coming this way? I'd advise against it. Any Trainer with a Wishing Star is in for a beating from me and my Pokémon
Hop: [glares and growls silently]
Bede: [looks at Hop] and you, keep your hands to yourself, after all the beauty over there shouldn't be even near you
Bella: [blush]
Hop: why you-
Valarie: at ease, mate. This boy is nothing but trouble, he isn't worth battling
Hop: but-
Valarie: a true trainer should never let venomous words from an Ekans poison them
Hop: you're right
Bede: [glares at Valarie] and you are?
Valarie: my name is Valarie Zafirah Goodman, I'm a Detective from the Alola Region, I'm here to teach these trainers the way of being the very best like no one ever was
Bede: typical, a babysitter for you worthless trainers [looks at Victor] and you. You and your sister are the Gym Challengers endorsed by the Champion, aren't you
Victor: [glares] depends, who's asking?
Bede: [smirk] what a joke. You are aware that the chairman is more important than the Champion, right?
Hop: [growl]
Valarie: yes, but so is the Champion, without one, there shouldn't be a Gym Challenge or Dynamaxing allowed here in the Galar Region
Bede: hmph, I was chosen by the chairman himself, so that makes me more amazing than you all. Except for the Beauty next to the worthless trainer
Hop: that does it! You and me battle right here right now
Bella: Hop, don't. We don't know what kind of Pokémon he has
Valarie: Psychic types
Bede: huh? How did you-
Valarie: a great detective knows these things, you specialize in Psychic types of Pokémon. Am I wrong?
Bede: [gulp] well...
Valarie: so I'm right, how about this. If Victor can beat you in a Pokémon Battle, you have to let us through, but if he loses, we'll give you our wishing stars
Victor: [gasp] Valarie
Hop/Gloria: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!
Valarie: trust me kids, Bede has a zero percent chances of beating Victor. Believe me I know these battles, I've been though all the regions before, and I know how this ends
Gloria: are you sure?
Valarie: I'm sure
Bede: heh, very well. I suppose I should prove beyond doubt just how pathetic you are and how strong I am
Valarie: I'll be the referee for this battle, Kaori, do you mind healing Victor's Pokemon?
Bella: o-oh sure [walks up to Victor] this will only take a second
Victor: thanks Bella
I completed healing Victor's Pokémon and stepped away from him, and I stood between Hop and Gloria. Valarie took a deep breath as we watch Victor and Bede getting ready to battle, finally it started.
Valarie: the Battle between Victor vs Bede will now-
Bede: wait! How did you know my name?! I never gave you my name!!!
Valarie: like I said, I'm a detective, I get my sources from people around me
Bede: [eye wide] [whispers] how?
Valarie: and I know what you been through... The battle shall now, begin!!!
Victor: right! I choose you!! Sobble!!
Bede: I choose you! Solosis!!
Both Solosis and Sobble appeared onto the field and battled, it was rough but we got the opportunity to learn from Rotom what Solosis is, but soon Solosis was knocked out and returned to his poke ball.
Valarie: Solosis is unable to battle, Sobble is the winner
Gloria: way to go bro!!
Hop: yeah, teach that jerk a lesson!
Bella: be careful Victor, it may have been easy but sometimes it won't be easy at the end!
Bede: the beauty is right. I'm just giving your Pokémon a little chance to shine, that's all. Now Gothita, you're up!!
Gothita appeared onto the field and used Psychic Beam, with that it only did a small damage on Sobble, but stayed strong, after the battle lasted for about a few minutes, Gothita was knocked out.
Valarie: Gothita is unable to battle, Sobble wins
Bella: you go Sobble!!
Hop: yeah!!
Gloria: just one more win!!
Bede: oh dear, what have I been doing? Well, whatever. Let's just get this over with
Bella: he's gonna try something
Just like that, Bede brought out what appears to be a small Pokémon with a round pink body and a pair of small feet. Most of its body is covered by a blue wig-like feature with a pink hat-like protrusion on top. This protrusion is decorated with a white spot and has a blue bulbous growth on its tip. The flaps on the side of its head appears to be able to function like limbs.
Valarie: whoa! What is it?
Bella: it's a Hatenna!
Gloria: a what?
Rotom: my time to shine. Hatenna, the calm Pokémon. See the protrusion on its head, it senses other creatures' emotions. If you don't have a calm disposition, it will never warm up to you
Hop: looks to me it doesn't want to warm up to this jerk
Bella: watch out, Victor!
It was a rough battle, but it got bad when Sobble became confused and didn't know where to aim. That made us all panic but Valarie just remained calm, as if our worst fears wasn't going to happen. But when Sobble stood it's grounds and tried to snap out of it, he tackled Hatenna and completely knocked her out. Victor won and Bede lost. We all cheered for Victor while Bede was mad and looked away, feeling frustrated and annoyed.
Valarie: [smirk] Hatenna is unable to battle, Bede has no more Pokémon left which means Victor is the winner!!
Hop: YES!! WOOHOO!!!!
Gloria: WAY TO GO!! BIG BRO!!!
Bede: I see... Well, that's fine. I wasn't really trying all that hard anyway
Bella: [walks up to Bede] u-u-ummm... Bede, I was wondering if, it was okay if I healed your Pokémon, i-i-it's okay if you don't want me to
Bede: [smile] for you, I'd be glad to let you heal my Pokémon
Bella: thanks
Bede allowed me to heal his Hatenna, Gothita, and Solosis. They all greeted me and smiled when I was done healing them up, Hatenna warmed up to me when she rubbed against my leg and I petted her.
Bede: well, that was unexpected. I suppose you're more able than I thought. Naturally, I'll remember your battle style and strategy now. I'm sure to easily defeat you if and when we face each other in an official match. Now that we've established that, I won't waste any more time on you... [looks at Bella] I'll see you soon, right? You'll cheer for me?
Bella: [smile] of course
Bede returned his Pokémon back into their poke balls, and handed me something since I helped him heal his Pokémon. I stood up and looked in my hand to see a star piece, it was so shiny and beautiful, that it caused me to remember something.
~ Flashback ~ No One's P.O.V
Bella: hmmm... No, No, No. this isn't right, somethings missing
Diane [Diancie]: dian?
Bella: Sorry Diane, but I don't know what this dress is missing, maybe I shouldn't go
Diane [Diancie]: dian! Dian!!
Bella: huh?
Suddenly, Diancie showed Bella a beautiful necklace she was working on with the star pieces we collected, hand crafted and made to match with the dress, the necklace sparkles and Bella was mesmerized by how the necklace matched with the dress she was wearing, she smiled and hugged Diancie.
Bella: thank you Diane, now I can go to the gala!
~ Flashback ends ~
Bella: [gasp] Diane!!
Valarie: Bella, are you okay?
Bella: where's Diancie?! Where's Diane?!
Valarie: it's okay, she's here with us, Sonia managed to give me all of your Pokémon from your original team in case you remember them. Do you feel like you can face her?
Bella: I don't know, I want to... But...
Valarie: it's okay if you're not ready
Bella:... No, I want to face her and get over my fears, I'm slowly getting used to them, but I know they won't harm me. They're my own team, they wouldn't hurt me
Valarie: okay [take out a poke ball] come on out, Diancie
[Diancie appears]
Diane [Diancie]: dian!! Di?
Bella: Diancie, do you know who I am? I'm your partner when I was a trainer, I'm sorry if I didn't remember you, but when I saw this star piece, I remember how much you loved to accessories me and always made me a crystal crown to make me feel that I'm special just the way I am [tear up] it made me feel happy, and also sad... Because I never got the chance to say thank you for always being there for me... and for [sobs] [sobs] a-and for being there for me even if I can't approach you [sobs] [sobs]
I was crying so much that I didn't notice Diancie slowly approaching me and carefully patting my back, when I felt her presence near, I didn't held back and just hugged Diane. Diancie looked surprised but she hugged me back and I was now crying in tears of joy, my friends smiled and Valarie was proud of me. I pulled back and looked at Diancie with a smile on my face, ready to ask her the question.
Bella: so? What do you say, do you wanna be a part of my team, like the old times?
Diane [Diancie]: Dian!!!! [jumps in joy]
Bella: [smile] [wipes her tears away] welcome back Diane
Valarie: we should probably get going, we don't wanna keep him waiting
Hop: "him?" Who is it? Don't tell me your boyfriend is coming
Valarie: no, don't be silly~, this person is known to be a farmer in Turffield, let's get going. Oh and Bella, here's the Poke ball Diancie came from
Bella: thanks [takes the poke ball] let's go for a stroll Diane, like old times
Diane [Diancie]: Dian!!
Hop unexpectedly held my hand as we both walked together to Turffield, when we got there, it was so beautiful how it was just like how the book explained, a field full of Pokémon, and I was super excited because I wanted to try my luck in catching a Pumpkaboo.
Hop: wow, so cool!!
Gloria: so many Pokémon
Valarie: alright kids, let's get going, we have to meet him at his farm kids, that's where we'll be staying until tomorrow for you kids to go get your Grass Gym Badge
Hop: I can't wait! I'm so pumped that I just have to battle him!!
Valarie: alright, let's get going
Bella: I can't wait, I wanna try to practice so I can learn, well... Remember how to battle, after seeing Valarie's battle against Hop, and that Team Yell Grunt, and Victor's battle with Bede, I wanna remember
Rotom: you're in luck Bella, you have three trainers and a trainer who's been at all of the regions too
Valarie: I'm sure Hop, Victor, and Gloria can help
Gloria: yeah, but why do you wanna learn so soon?
Bella: there's a Pokémon I wanna catch and it's a Pumpkaboo
Gloria: a Pumpkaboo?
Rotom: my time to shine! Pumpkaboo, the Pumpkin Pokemon. Spirits that wander this world are placed into Pumpkaboo's body. They're then moved on to the afterlife. Bzzz
Victor: [nervous smile] that sounds... interesting
Bella: I know right, I even thought of a name for when I catch it
Victor: which is?...
Bella: Boo!
Hop: Boo?
Bella: yeah, Boo. Because back then when my parents and I celebrated Halloween, I always wanted a Pumpkaboo and-
Voice: Wooloo!! Where do you think you're going?!
Wooloo: Beeeeeeh!
Before any of us could react, a Wooloo crashed right into me and I bang my head onto the ground beneath me.
Voice: are you okay?!
Hop: [panic] BELLA!!! ARE YOU OKAY? DO YOU NEED A DOCTOR?! IS THERE A DOCTOR HERE!?!?!
[VALARIE CHOP]
Valarie: [holds her chop hand] [tear up] calm down, Hop 'I can't believe I forgot about the hard helmets'
Bella: ow, my head. Don't worry Hop, I'm okay. I still have that hard helmet on
Hop: phew, thank goodness
Voice: my... Are you ok? You took that Tackle head on...
We all looked up and saw a young man in a muscular shape with peach-colored hair, green eyes and freckles. He wears a beige sun hat with a green brim, a white t-shirt with a grass symbol, green shorts and black and green boots. He also carries his Poké Balls and wears a green and black glove and a Dynamax band.
Valarie: Milo, so good to meet you face to face. Sorry I couldn't meet you earlier but I had a case to solve
Milo: it's fine, no worries
Gloria: um Val, how do you know him?
Valarie: from Leon. Kids, this is Milo, he is the Grass Gym Leader and~ the farmer who's letting us stay at his farm
Victor/Gloria/Hop/Bella: WHAAAAAAATTTT?!?!
Milo: that's right, you kids will be staying at my farm, just until tomorrow's Gym Challenge Trial. You kids must be one of those Gym Challengers, right
Hop: yup
Bella: yes
Victor: yes, indeed
Gloria: yup
Milo: ahhh, I thought so. I saw you at the opening [looks at Bella] especially you, those Pokémon you have are one of a kind. Do you mind if I see them up close?
Bella: is it okay to let Cosmo out?
Valarie: we aren't around suspicious people so yeah, it's okay to let him out
Bella: come on out, Cosmo! Ruth! Scorch!
All three of my Pokémon appeared and greeted Milo, Diane stood next to everyone else and greeted Milo too.
Milo: wow, never seen a Pokémon like that
Valarie: I can explain what Cosmo is, right after these kids get dressed and go out to help on the farm
Hop: say what?
Valarie: today's Pokémon lesson will start at the farm, you'll all be helping Milo with the Wooloos that try to escape too many times
Bella: but what about the Pumpkaboo?
Valarie: as soon as you kids complete this lesson, you can go out in the wild to find the Pokémon you're looking for
We all followed Milo to his farm where he gave us his League card that had information about him, there Valarie got us dressed in overalls, and plaid flannel shirt, with work boots, and a sun hat.
Valarie: [blush] awwww, you kids look so cute
Rotom: bzzzz. Picture taken [takes a picture]
Hop/Victor: we look ridiculous
Gloria: I like the sun hat
Bella: I think it looks suitable
Valarie: great, now today's lesson is all about strategy. Your objective is to wrangle the Wooloo into the pen, but I must warn you, it isn't going to be easy~
Hop: it's just a Wooloo, mate, how hard can it be?
Valarie: you won't be saying that when you see what kind of obstacles you have to face. Alright Milo! RELEASE THE WOOLOOS!!!!!!
Victor/Gloria/Hop/Bella: WHAT?!?!
The Wooloos were now loose and they all scurried into different directions, I noticed how one of the Wooloo was a a female, how did I know? Easy, it was wearing flowers on it's wool, probably from rolling to a flower field. We all got to work and tried to wrangle the Wooloo, but we couldn't get them to go, the young female Wooloo was frightened and didn't want to go anywhere but I came up to her and comfort her. She smiled and bah, happily. Then it got me thinking, if we can't get the Wooloos to follow us, then maybe some Pokémon can help.
Bella: Ruth!! Come to the field, boy!
Ruth [Rockruff]: Ruff! Ruff!!
Bella: all right Ruth, you cover the left and I'll cover the right! That way the Wooloo have to go in a straight line!
Ruth [Rockruff]: ruff!
Valarie: look at that
Milo: now she's thinking. With Rockruff help, she can chase the Wooloos on her right and Ruth can chase the Wooloos on the other side. A perfect strategy and a perfect team
Hop: hey Victor, Gloria, we should do the same!!
Victor/Gloria: yeah
Victor/Gloria/Hop: come on out!! Zigzagoon! Purrlion! Grookey!!
Zigzagoon, Purrlion, and Grookey joined in and copy the same way me and Ruth have done it. But before we all could celebrate our victory, Valarie had a surprise for us.
Valarie: release the Yampers!!
Victor/Hop/Bella: What?!?!
Hop: uh oh!!
Soon four Yampers were released and they came at the Wooloo, wanting to chase them. But Hop and Victor were one step ahead of the Yampers.
Hop: Grookey, use Razor Leaf!!
Victor: Zigzagoon! Use Quick Attack!!
Gloria: I guess we need to knock those Yamper out of our way. Purrlion, use Fury Swipe!!
I continued to avoid the Yamper, until finally I was able to get the Wooloo's into the pen, and close it. I opened it once more when Victor, Gloria, and Hop brought the rest of the Wooloo's back into their pens.
Hop: alright!
Gloria: we did it!!
Valarie: congrats on a job well done, now that you kids competed your task, I think it's time for you all to go out and try to capture some new Pokémon
Bella: yes, I'm going to go find a Punpkaboo!!!
Hop: I'll go with you, just to make sure you're safe. You still haven't learned how to battle, so I'll help
Bella: you will?
Hop: absolutely
Bella: thank you Hop, you're so cool!! [hugs Hop]
Milo: you know, you can find some Pumpkaboo near this pumpkin patch, they hide most of the times but I know there is a perfect hiding spot for Pumpkaboo. I'll take you to it
Valarie: I'll stick it Gloria and Victor, we'll meet back to set up our tents before nightfall
Hop: I thought we would be sleeping in a barn
Valarie: oh, nononononononononono!! No! Not even close. We'll be sleeping outside for today, after all, there's going to be beautiful stars at night. And just maybe you'll see a Jirachi~
Victor/Gloria/Hop/Bella: A JIRACHI!!!!
Hop: no way! I gotta see this Jirachi!!! Come on Bella, we don't have time to waste, mate! Let's go find a Pumpkaboo before it's too late!!
Hop dragged me away, then we reached to the Pumpkin patch where there were a lot of pumpkins all around us.
Bella: wow!!! This is so cool!!
Hop: we just gotta find that Pumpkaboo!
Milo: Patience Hop, I'm sure the Pumpkaboo will show itself, we just gotta be patient
Bella: maybe Rockruff can find it
Milo: I will admit, that would be wise, but it won't be easy since it needs Pumpkaboo's scent
Bella: oh
Hop: it was worth a try, maybe one of these pumpkins has gotta be it
Bella: Rotom, can you describe the appearance of Pumpkaboo?
Rotom: why describe it when I can show it to you, on screen!
On cue, Rotom showed us a photo of a Pumpkaboo and I was so mesmerized by it's adorableness, I really, really want one!
Hop: okay, so we're looking for a pumpkin with four eyes, a mouth, and a curve root on top. Should be easy, not all the pumpkins look the same
Milo: true, but we should be careful, we don't wanna make it angry
Hop: fair enough, come on! Bella!!
We all looked around and checked every pumpkin, but so far no luck, we were about to give up when suddenly Ruth was barking at something, I took a closer look and saw the top part of its plump, round pumpkin-like body is covered in a thick shag of dark brown hair that curls upward slightly at the ends. It has a curled stem at the top of its head, and two horn-shaped tufts of hair on either side. It has two ovular yellow eyes and a small mouth with two sharp fangs protruding from beneath its upper lip. The bottom part of Pumpkaboo's body is orange and pudgy, with two short legs and two holes that seem to have been carved out. Then, out of no where it started to float and spoke, like a Pumpkaboo.
Bella: Hop! I found it!!
Hop: you did? That's great, now you have to battle it
Bella: battle it... B-B-But, I don't know how!
Hop: it's easy, here Grookey and I will help you!
Milo: I'll help too, If things go bad, I'll help out
Hop: thanks. Alright Rotom, give us the info of what kind of moves Ruth can use
Rotom: gladly. Ruth can use Tackle, Bite, Rock Throw, and just recently he's been trying to learn Stone Edge!
Hop: okay, Grookey and I will go first. Grookey, use Tackle
Grookey tackled Pumpkaboo which only did little damage, I looked down at my Rockruff and thought of which moves to use but just couldn't, I didn't want to see Pumpkaboo hurt. But then Pumpkaboo used Razor Leaf and that could've caused some serious damage on Ruth if it weren't for Hop's Grookey pulling Ruth out of the way.
Milo: Bella, stay focus! Remember, Ruth can use Tackle, Bite, and Rock Throw! But I think it's wise to use Bite. Ghost type Pokémon are weak against Dark types. So even if your Rockruff is a Rock type, he has the advantage to use Bite!
Bella: you're right... [beathe] Ruth! Use Bite!!
Ruth [Rockruff]: rrrrruff!!!
Ruth finally used a move and used Bite which cause a big effect on Pumpkaboo, Pumpkaboo couldn't move so I took this as a chance to capture her. I got out my poke ball and whined my arms in a circular motion and tossed it, but of course I don't know how to toss a pokeball so instead it landed on top of Hop's head and rolled off of him.
Hop: ow!!
Bella: huh? I'm sorry Hop, I was trying to get the Pumpkaboo but it seems that I don't know how to throw a poke ball yet. Oh man, now I'll never get a Pumpkaboo!!
Pumpkaboo: pum? [looks at the Poke ball]
The Pumpkaboo was curious but looked down at the poke ball and just pressed the button, allowing herself to get captured. It surprised us all but then we saw the poke ball move three times until finally it clicked. I caught it, I caught a Pumpkaboo.
Hop: whoa!!! That Pumpkaboo just allowed itself to get caught?! Is that even possible?!
Milo: hey, anything's possible
Bella: I don't believe it, I caught a Pumpkaboo!
Milo: congrats Bella, you caught your very first Pokémon. As Grass Gym Leader I proclaim you Bella an official Pokémon Trainer, that is until you get your Dynamax Band
Hop: oh right! The Dynamax Band, I completely forgot. You need to get your Dynamax band
Bella: I hope I get mine soon
Milo: well, you caught your Pokémon, why not bring it out
Bella: [smile] come on out, Pumpkaboo!
[Pumpkaboo Appears]
Pumpkaboo: Pum!! [smiles]
Bella: like I said before, I wanted a Pumpkaboo, so I'll name you... Boo!
Boo [Pumpkaboo]: Pum... Pum!! [spins around in joy] Boo!
Bella: that's right, Boo!
Boo [Pumpkaboo]: Boo!
I laughed in joy that I didn't realized I hugged Pumpkaboo as she cuddled up to my chest, Ruth, Scorch, Cosmo, and Diane were cheering in joy feeling proud that I was opening up to Pokémon. Hop, Milo, and I left as our Pokémon followed us home. We saw that Victor caught a Electrike, and Gloria caught an Eevee. We were all proud of what we accomplished that it was time for us to eat, we all ate outside our camping grounds that our Pokémon enjoyed the food, however Ruth has been behaving strange lately, maybe he's this close to evolving. If he is does that mean he'll be on his own? Who knows.
Hop: alright Val, no more stalling, tell us about Jirachi!!
Gloria: yeah, will we ever see a Jirachi?
Valarie: okay, I'll tell you. Jirachi also fulfill a desire to people who really need and will appear when you least expect. It's always sleeping, awake for a week every 1000 years. Though, if possible, if It's captured by a trainer, it will be awake longer then a week but will still fall asleep if needing to recharge its energy.
Bella: wow
Valarie: Once every 1,000 years, the singing of a pure voice will rouse this Pokémon from its near- perpetual slumber. It wakes for only seven days
Hop: whoa!! Can you try Val?
Victor: yeah I wanna see it!
Gloria: me too
Victor/Gloria/Hop: PLEEEEEEAAAASSSSEE~!!!
Valarie: okay okay [clear her throat]

Suddenly we all heard a sound of a Pokémon and looked back to see what we all wanted to meet. A creamy yellow and white Pokémon with small black eyes. Under her eyes, there are V-shaped markings that are light green. Her head is yellow and resembles a star, but with only three points. Hanging on those three points are three light green bands that are said to be part of Jirachi's ability to grant wishes. She also has two wavy yellow strings streaming from behind it. We all stood there stunned by the Pokémon appearance and saw that it was really a Jirachi, but what surprised us more is that the Jirachi went straight towards Valarie and cuddled up to her chest.
Hop: whoa! A real Jirachi!
Valarie: yup, Jodie is a bit shy but she loves to play with my Pokémon
Victor: Val, why did you names that Pokémon Jodie?
Valarie: because I caught her when I was your age
Victor/Gloria/Hop/Bella: WHAAAAATTTTT?!?!
Valarie: yup, Jodie's part of my team, well she was my mothers but my mom insisted that I take care of Jodie
Hop: wow!! [yawn]
Valarie: seems to me you kids need your sleep, tomorrow's the big day, get your Pokémon ready in the morning, your Trial will start tomorrow
