Dick shouldered through the main doors, panting. His skin, hair and clothes were all damp and sticky.
"Where were you?" Tim demanded. "It's dark out -and what's that smell?"
"Cheap beer." His brother doubled over, gasping for air. "Those jerk grade-twelves at the skate park threw it while they were chasing me."
"WHAT?" He ordered. "Oh my god! are you alright?"
"yeah, just winded."
"I was at the play ground, and those drunk jerks always follow me. They chased me a few blocks, but I got away."
His brother put on a calm appearance. "I knew I should've stayed there with you, especially since there are so many creeps out there tonight, setting off fireworks at the park."
"No, it's fine." Dick said hastily.
"Oh, well you better get upstairs and shower." Tim watched his brother nod and sprint up the stairs. "Those fucking assholes!" He shouted.
"Who?" Jason and his boyfriend strolled in.
"Oh, hi Jason, Hi Roy,"
"Hi."
"These fucking twelfth graders chased Dick on his way home."
"Mother fuckers!" Jason exclaimed. "I'll beat the shit out of them if I ever see them."
"Yeah, me too. I wonder if their in Dami's class, then we can report them." Tim spat. "What are you two doing tonight?"
"Besides beating those fuckers senseless..." Jason began.
"We're gonna watch horror movies." Roy held up the bowl of popcorn he was holding. "-and Barbra's coming over later."
"You aren't watching anything R-rated, are you?"
"Tim, by your logic we can't watch anything over PG 13." Jason moaned. "We're gonna watch Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark and Holloween."
"Halloween? you're too young for that!"
"TIM!" Jason whined, his brother was totally embarrassing him in front of his boyfriend.
"Fine, but I'll have Damian duck in to check on you two frequently."
Jason tried to argue, but his redhead just thanked the fifteen-year-old and dragged Jason to the next room.
The doorbell rang.
"Trick-or-Treaters? Already?" Tim grabbed the bucket of candy at the door and wrestled it open.
"Hi." A boy stood opposite him, wearing all black, with cat ears sticking out from his untidy red hair.
"Hi Wally!" Tim smiled, holding the door open for him. "Dick's just in the shower, he'll be out in a few minutes."
"Okay." Wally came in and sat at the bottom of the steps.
"Are you a cat?" Tim asked.
"No!" Wally rolled his eyes, grinning. He pointed at his black domino-mask, and then his belt, and the jump rope lasso tied to it. "C'mon, you know who this is!"
Tim opened his mouth to answer when he heard a voice from the top of the stairs.
"Cat-woman!"
His youngest brother stood at the top of the stairs, still a little damp from the shower. He wore an adjusted version one of his father's masks.
Tim gaped. "Dickie, did you dress up as Batman?" He covered his mouth, grinning.
"Yeah, Bruce and Alfred helped me make it!"
Tim got a better look at the full costume. "Very cool! You two are ready to go? I'll just get Dami..."
"I'm here." Damian strolled down the stairs
"There you are! We're going out." Tim pulled on his coat. "Check on Jay and Roy every half-hour, and don't traumatize any trick-or-treaters."
"Be back by nine-thirty. At latest." Damian ordered.
"Roger." Tim grabbed Dick's jacket and thrust it at him. "Here."
"But Timmy-"
"No buts, I'm not letting you catch cold out there."

It was a Friday, so the red heads had permission to stay the night, since all their mentors were busy having a meeting.
They watched the credits for The Shining roll up the screen, they'd already finished their first two movies and were now just binge-watching Stephen King films.
"Spooky." Barbra commented, wiping her buttery fingers on her skirt. Jason and the red heads were dressed up as the Heathers; Jason was Heather Chandler (complete with jug of "Drain cleaner"), Roy was Heather Duke, and Barbra was Heather McNamara. They were good costumes, Jason had even raided an old croquet set.
"What now, Heather? Pet Cemetery?"
"Sounds good, Heather."
"Sure, sure, but first..."
Barbra rolled upright. "What's on your mind, Heather?"
"Halloween is prime time to scare people, and there are two very scare-able people just upstairs." The other two caught on.
Meanwhile, in Dick's room...
"Put on another episode!"
"'Kay!"Wally reached out and queued up another episode of The Haunting Hour. They were watching in the dark, eating tons of candy and keeping all their limbs safely on the bed. "That wasn't scary!" The redhead tried to sound brave.
"Yeah... that was boring!" The younger boy tried to impress his companion.
The intro started, and Dick hid in the blanket under the guise of being cold. The episode title appeared; 'The Mascot'.
"DICK! WALLY!"
Something slammed into the door. Dick threw his arms around Wally's chest. Everything wen't quiet again. "Jay...?" He asked in a small voice. nothing.
BANG BANG BANG
There were several loud knocks at the door, causing the boys to yip and clutch each other.
"DICK, WALLY, GET OUT HERE NOW! THERE'S... THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE HOUSE!"
There was a blood curdling scream.
"JAY!"
"JASON?" Wally paused the episode and turned on the IPad torch. After checking under the bed, he crept to the door and opened it.
A Huge, towering creature met him. All black, one, beady, glowing red eye watching him.
Wally stumbled backwards through the room, tripping and landing on top of Dick's fragile frame.
"...Jay?" He croaked. Dick snapped back to consciousness, turning in his bed, throwing the curtains aside and trying desperately to pry the window lock open. until he saw the face, a huge, grinning face, pressed against the glass. with a scream, he threw himself back against the redheaded boy. "Bruce!" He cried, scrunching his eyes shut.
Wally turned, cradling the younger boy in his arms, and squinted at the huge figure in the door. He noticed the red hair being held in a side-pony by a yellow scrunchie sticking out from the creature's mask.
"...b-Barbra?" He asked nervously.
"Bingo! We're ya scared?" She threw open the trench coat, flaunting the laser-pointer she'd been using as the monster''s eye.
"What-fu- WHAT IS IT?" Tim demanded sliding into Barbra and Jason, who was lying on the floor. "Dick! what- are you okay?" Tim took a long look around; Barbra standing on a step-stool, Jason, Laughing on the floor, covered in blood, Roy perched outside the window, pressing a rubber mask against the glass. Tim sighed. "You didn't..." He strode across to the bed where the boys were curled up, gripping onto each other. "Dickie, are you alright?"
Dick couldn't pull himself together, even to impress Wally.
Tim turned to the young teens. "You three, Downstairs! and I'll be talking to you're fathers about this!"
"NO! GOD, TIM PLEASE!" Jason begged.
"Downstairs!"
Dick and Wally spent the rest of the night with all the lights on, watching Gravity Falls, and trying to calm each other down.
The older three spent the rest of the night eating leftover candy and awaiting their deaths.
