Jiang MingYuan looked in the direction that he was pointing at and all he could see were crowds and crowds of people walking in front of them.

"What?"

"Right over there! The little kid in green shorts next to the adult. Let me tell you, that kid looks exactly like you when you were his age!" The man next to him pointed in the direction again, but after looking again carefully, he couldn't find the two of them again.

"Shoot, I think they are gone." He made a "tsk" voice and egged his friend on, "Do you want to go see the security footage? Maybe he is your long-lost son."

Jiang MingYuan casted him a glance. This guy was so tasteless. He then turned and walked in a different direction.

Cheng Huan had no idea that she had just crossed paths with the male lead. She walked inside a kids' clothing store with Little Star and started picking out clothes for him.

As a 4-year-old, Little Starhas his own preference. Unfortunately, his sense of fashion was a bit off. Everything that he picked out looked somewhat outdated. Cheng Huan had no choice but to reject all of them cold-heartedly.

Luckily, Little Star wasn't the type of child who'd throw a hissy fit when he couldn't get what he wanted. All he did was pout after he was rejected and still followed behind Cheng Huan like a little tail behind her.

Inside the kids' clothing shop, there was clothing for both boys and girls, mostly girls. Cheng Huan was distracted by all those cute little dresses and was locked in place.

Little Star, seeing how his mother kept on looking at the dresses, feared for himself. He tugged at Cheng Huan's clothes and called out to her softly, "Mom."

"Hmm? What's up?" Cheng Huan turned toward him.

"Those are for girls," said the little kiddo seriously with a straight face. "I am a boy."

SNICKERED.

The salesgirl behind them couldn't help but bust out laughing and said to Cheng Huan, "Your little brother is so cute."

Little Star's voice was too soft when he called Cheng Huan "mom", so the salesgirl didn't hear it. She thought the two of them were sister and brother.

"This is my mom!" Little Star exploded before Cheng Huan could say anything. He threw his little arms around Cheng Huan's leg. With his cheeks puffed up, he cried out, "Not sister, my Mom!"

The salesgirl looked a little embarrassed. She feigned a laugh and said to Cheng Huan, "Pardon me. You look so young. I thought you are sister and brother."

"It's quite alright." Cheng Huan smiled and lowered her head to say to the little kiddo, "Alright, this big sister did not say that on purpose. Will you forgive her?"

Under his mother's look, Little Star reluctantly acknowledged it. Holding Cheng Huan's hand, he turned to the salesgirl again and said, "She is my mom."

"Big sister already knows that she is your mom." The salesgirl reached out her hand, stroked him on his little face, and said, "Big sister was wrong earlier.. I am sorry. Will you forgive me?"

This was the first time Little Star ran into a situation like that. He had no idea how to respond. He looked up at Cheng Huan. Under her guidance, he said to the salesgirl, "Okay, I will forgive you."

Cheng Huan stroked him on his head and said, "Good boy."

After that incident, the little kiddo stuck on to Cheng Huan even more. Every time he saw someone looking at them, he'd tell them that she was his mother.

Cheng Huan was resigned about his pronouncement, but she also understood that his behavior was caused by his insecurity. He had been ignored by the original owner this whole time, and when he suddenly received attention, he wanted to hang onto it as tightly as he could.

Not wanting Little Star to get the wrong idea again, Cheng Huan stopped looking at the girl's clothes and took Little Star to the boy's section to pick out clothes for him.

The look of a kid's outfit was secondary, the most important part was comfort when he was wearing them.

Cheng Huan had Little Star tried on everything that looked alright to her and asked him how they felt on him after he had put them on. The little kiddo was quite expressive and could reasonably express himself.

After shopping for most of an hour and buying three sets of outfits, Little Star was too tired to walk any further.

Seeing that, Cheng Huan decided to end their shopping trip. She could go on for longer, but three sets would be enough for a while. They could always come again if that weren't enough.

They had a lot of expenses ahead of them, and they'd need to conserve.

Thinking about her current situation and the money left in her bank account, Cheng Huan let out another long sigh.

Yup, poorness brought about all sorts of issues...

Now that they needed to conserve, eating out would be impractical.

XingXing was very happy when he found out that they'd be having lunch at home. After that morning, his mom had already taken the spot of the best cook in the world.

Being carried by Cheng Huan, he wrapped his little arms around her neck and said, "Mom, can we have buns again for lunch?"

Cheng Huan was still contemplating what to have for lunch and lifted her brows when she heard him say that. "You like buns that much?"

"Uh huh!" The little kiddo nodded decisively. "I like buns the most!"

Cheng Huan looked at him and asked, "Don't you want to try something else that I make?"

His arms around her neck tightened som,e and the little kiddo rested his little chin on her shoulder and said softly, "I want buns the most."

"Okay, I will make you more buns then." Cheng Huan gave in. She didn't mind granting him such a small request.

"Yay, mom's the best!" After his request was accepted, the little kiddo turned lively all over again. He sat up straight and planted a kiss on Cheng Huan's cheek. "Little Star loves his mommy!"

Meeting the little kid's gaze that's filled with anticipation, Cheng Huan didn't hesitate for too long before she, too, planted a kiss on his cheek back. "And mommy loves Little Star also."

Cheng Huan regretted a little for accepting the little kid's request.

They ended up having buns for three days straight.

The kid was smart. He could tell that Cheng Huan would give in and has been pushing his luck. Every time around meals' time, he'd come and moan and whine about wanting buns.

Cheng Huan was a pushover and gave in every time after he gave her a few kisses.

It's been THREE days! Now, she felt nauseated even just looking at buns. The little kiddo, on the other hand, showed no sign of getting tired of it and wanted more and more each time.

Dinner that night, Cheng Huan firmly rejected his request for more buns.

The little kiddo didn't cry or fuss after he was rejected. He just stood to one side and looked at her with his big, round eyes, making him look even more pitiful than usual. One look at him and Cheng Huan almost gave in again. But remembering those damned buns, she made up her mind again and turned away from him.

Little Star was sad for a little over an hour before he was revived with a full HP at the dinner table.

In his bowl, there were gluten balls. The filling inside was made with pork belly, water chestnut, and carrots along with Cheng Huan's house sauce. It was incredibly savory.

Little Star ate so much that his whole face was covered in grease. He had long since forgotten about the buns. Stuffrf, he sighed as he leaned back in his chair.

"Meat is so tasty!"

Cheng Huan gave him a look and asked, "What about buns?"

The little kiddo didn't even miss a beat when he said, "Buns are tasty too!"

He was much closer to Cheng Huan now. Having said that, he leaped off of the chair, walked in front of Cheng Huan, and flattered her, "Everything that Mom made was tasty. The tastiest in the world!"

"How much have you ever eaten to know that it's the tastiest in the world?" said Cheng Huan as she tapped him on his nose. His words, however, made her much happier inside.

Kids were, indeed, the cutest of all creatures. Transmigrating over here was a good deal!

After dinner, Cheng Huan went to do dishes. The little kiddo, as usual, followed behind her. He stood at the entrance of the kitchen and watched her as she did dishes. From time to time, he'd ask her some random questions.

Cheng Huan had a lot on her mind, so she didn't put too much effort in responding to him.

After she had put away the cleaned bowls and dried her hands, she walked over to XingXing and squatted down in front of him.

"Darling, there's something Mom wants to talk to you about."

"What is it?" The little kiddo became solemn as well.

"This apartment is too small. Mom wants to move to a bigger place. What does Little Star think about that?"

Cheng Huan had been thinking about moving since the first day she had transmigrated over. She had looked at quite a few apartments online and had some ideas. All of them are much better than their current place.

She thought about it for a few days and decided to start looking at them in person tomorrow. She wanted to discuss it with Little Star beforehand. After all, this was the place that he had been staying at since he was born. She was worried that he'd be scared to move to a new environment all of a sudden. She wanted to give him a heads up first.

Little Star was only 4 years old and didn't have any concept of moving. Cheng Huan explained it to him in detail.

After he had listened to her carefully, he thought it through in his not-so-big head and asked, "Is Mommy going to bring me with her?"

Cheng Huan nodded. "Yes. We will move together."

"Okay, let's move then." The little kiddo threw himself at her, and in his soft, milky voice, he said next to her ear, "As long as Little Star stays with his mommy."
