Chapter Eight
'Wanna see a movie today with my best friend and her boyfriend today?' I texted Luke a few days after we spent the night together. In the few days we haven't spent together, we have talked usually via texting and sometimes at the letterbox or when we put our bins put for collection.
'Sure. What time, what movie?' Luke replied after one minute of me sending the text.
'6pm and the other two wanna see the fault in our stars, so bring tissues...' I reply.
'Okay, where should I meet you?' he texted me again.
'I'll meet you at your flat and we'll walk there' I reply.
'Okay cool, see ya then' he texted with a smiley face emoji at the end.
'Yep xx' I texted, ending the conversation.
I put my phone down on the coffee table and walked into the kitchen.
I leant against the kitchen bench and looked around, wondering what to do.
I walked over to the cupboard and pulled out a chocolate pancake mix.
I put water in the contain, shook it for two minutes and started making the pancakes.
My iPhone started ringing and I looked at the caller ID. A picture of Ashlee and her name came up.
"Hey Ash" I said.
"Hey!" Ashlee said cheerfully through the phone.
"How are you?" I say flipping a chocolate pancake.
"I'm good, how are you?" Ashlee asked and I heard her fridge closing through the phone.
"Great" I say.
"So are you definitely coming tonight?" Ashlee asks.
"Yes. And Luke is definitely coming" I say grinning, I knew Ashlee was excited I'd met a guy who wasn't Jamie, and I could potentially have a crush on someone who isn't Jamie.
"I'm so excited to meet him! Have you guys seen each other recently?" Ashlee asked.
"Mmm, not really. He gets really busy with work but we text and stuff" I say ripping a bit of pancake off and eating it.
"Speaking of work missy, how are you going to pay for your apartment?" Ashlee asks in a more strict tone than usual.
I tapped my fingernails on the bench behind me. I had completely forgotten about getting a job, because Jamie would usually let my side of paying the rent slide, but now I had my own flat.
"I'll start looking" I say honestly.
"Good. What type will you be looking for?" Ashlee asks.
"I don't know, I'll check The Little Coffee Shop and see if they need an extra worker. Maybe something like that" I say grabbing my stack of pancakes and sitting on the couch.
"Good idea. I've got to go, Josh just came home from work, I'll see you later tonight" Ashlee says and I hear the door open on her end of the phone.
I looked at the time on my iPhone: 12:05pm. I decided to go and visit The Little Coffee Shop. I walked to my bedroom and pulled out a pair of white jeans, a black singlet and a brown cardigan.
After getting dressed I put on makeup, creating an eyeliner flick on my eyelid, putting lipstick on and fill in my eyebrows a bit.
I put on my black studded ankle boots and grabbed a black shoulder bag with tassels on it, filling it with essentials.
I walked out of of the flat, locked the door and ran down the stairs.
I walked out onto the street and made my way to The Little Coffee Shop.
The Little Coffee Shop isn't too far away from my apartment, it's just a short walk away.
After a few minutes I was standing outside the cafe. Luckily the store was open, and a staff member hadn't gone out for a break or anything.
I pushed the glass door open and was welcomed with a wind of mixed scents such as coffee and chocolates.
I walked up to the counter and looked at the girl with her brown hair in a pony tail and strands or hair falling out around her fringe area. She had brown eyes, lone eye lashes and she was wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans. She looked my age, maybe a year or two younger.
"What would you like to order, miss?" the girl asked, smiling at me.
"Oh, thank you but I don't want to order anything. Is the manager of this store here?" I ask politely, giving her the warm smile she was giving me.
"Yes, I'll go get her for you" the girl said and I saw her name tag, revealing her name to be Lottie.
A few minutes later Lottie came back will a woman who looked a little older than me.
"Hello, I am Rachel, you wanted to speak to me?" the older woman said smiling.
"Hi Rachel, it's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Jade. I was wondering if you have a job spot open?" I asked grinning.
"Please do sit down," Rachel started and directed me to sit down at a table.
"So you are looking for a job? Well that seems to be good new for you that I came in today, but I do happen to have a job for you, I think Lottie does need another person working with her, so you are okay with making drinks and foods?" Rachel continued.
"Yes, as long as Lottie can show me the ropes" I say looking per at Lottie, knowing she was listening to us because there was no one else in the cafe and nothing to do.
"I'm sure Lottie can do that, when can you start?" Rachel asked smiling.
"Tomorrow? What days will I work?" I asked.
"Week days, but come in tomorrow for a learning day" Rachel said warmly, she was a nice person and must be a good boss.
"Sure thing," I say excitedly. Admittedly, I had gotten this job easier than a lot of people would.
"Come in tomorrow at ten a.m." Rachel says.
"Thank you, nice seeing you," I say shaking her hand.
"Nice to meet you, Jade" Rachel says shaking my hand back.
I wink at Lottie and walk out of the cafe.

I checked my self in the mirror, making sure my curls were alright, and looked at my white dress with a few red or orange roses. A few cut outs had been made on my stomach. I had white converse on and my makeup applied thinly.
I grabbed my handbag and walked out my door, only turning around to lock it.
I had told Luke to meet me at the cinema, because he could get there earlier and all.
I walked down the stairs at a moderate pace and walked down the street.
In the local shopping centre was the cinema based in the middle, so I was making my way to the shopping centre.
I walked into the shopping centre and walked past all the shops and coffee shops.
I walked up to the entrance of the cinema and greeted Ashlee and Josh hugging them each. Luke walked over from the seat on the other side of the shopping centre.
"Ashlee, Josh this is Luke, he lives near me and he's a good friend" I said smiling.
"Nice to meet you" Ashlee said smiling widely, proud I had another male on my mind that wasn't Jamie.
"You too," Luke said grinning.

I'm so sorry this is so short and it is boring, it's just a filler.
Some interesting scenes will be happening soon and I'll try to post a new chapter as soon as possible, after this one is posted.
