A yell is what you earn from a middle aged woman towards you making you stumble and take the nth box out of her hands.
It was another stressful day of your life where you tend to think about just giving up, run away, hide or just jump off a cliff. There are many ways you can disappear and you're not quite sure which way you would take if you had to. But all you know is that it's not favorable and how your mother always suggests you 'stay positive'.
Of course you're not the only person who thinks that way, and you also know in the end of the day you'll be laughing to how much you overreacted about this moment right now, or how unnecessary of you it was to take it so hard on yourself and think that way. Then the best way you could stop is to sleep it off. But thoughts like these are way too small and easy to forget compared to how far you go sometimes. At least you knew when to reach your limits.
However the conflict right now wasn't the tiniest you experienced. And thinking about sleeping it off isn't really possible for you. Is it?
"Hurry up!"
Is what the woman had just yelled gesturing you to.
It wasn't a great idea, hell not even a bit. Moving out of your home was a big mistake. For you at least. Not your parents. Together with them you just arrived at the new mansion and you already regret it just by looking at it. Your parents who instited since a while to move out of your town seemed to be very pleased.
They had planned it all in less than two days and everything happened so fast that you didn't even had the time to say goodbye to your friends which was upsetting. You never had been mad discomforted before. This all happened in a rush. It felt as if you only had to blink once or twice and everything changed.
"Oh and let's go visit the Kang family!"
Kang...
You sigh under your breath not knowing how to respond at first. Except for your parents who saw them way often, the last time you saw Mrs.Kang or in all the whole family was about five years ago. The reason behind it was probably your school and you quite weren't always free. It was exhausting and it makes you feel even more when you realize you'll be attending a new college soon. Nonetheless you barely remember anything about the Kang family, except for your childhood friend only, who was their son.
His name which you almost forgot but your mom told you about on your way here, was Yeosang. You thought it was Yeo, since you always used to call him like that, probably because it was the nickname you gave him. Nothing more or less. It's kinda weird knowing you're going to meet him now, five years later.
Evidence is you grew up and for sure so did he, sadly, without each other. You remember his face a little bit, not really everything about him it's like puzzles that need to be placed together. It's strange that you're not able to recall much of your memories at all.
However you know the day he left and moved out. You had asked your parents why but they never really responded. Maybe it was just business his father had to run? Since then you both lived miles away and lost contact faster than you thought you both would. Now that you moved in to the same town as his your parents expect to see him and his family quite often. However you're not ready and you feel nervous. It wasn't the right time, not now when you moved out of your home.
"Mom do I have to come with you?"
The mid elderly woman raised an eyebrow sending you a 'I can't believe you said that' look. You shrug rolling your eyes looking away putting the box which was full of your books down on the floor after you attended the house. You hear her suddenly speak next to you as she hands her box to one of the workers.
"Aren't you looking forward to meet your first ever childhood friend?"
You shrug again making her cross her arms in front of her chest. She was definitely your mother.
"Not even a bit?"
Her eyes search on your face for a reaction and she also finds it soon letting out an chuckle before grabbing your wrist. You yelp at the sudden contact as your mother pulls you with her out of the mansion before yelling a 'Honey we are leaving' which was directed towards your father who probably didn't hear a thing since he was the stairs up helping the workers.
As she pulls you towards the car you stumble groaning for the last time. Then you realize.
The day just really started...
The drive was pretty quiet and peaceful, not awkward at all. It went also fast by which you were very surprised about. Your mom told you that you could actually just walk to their house for thirty minutes sending you a certain glare. She probably was awaiting that you visit them often and you're not sure if you're going to.
The car's door opened hastily as it came to an halt and your mom grabs your wrist again pulling you like a lost puppy behind her. You look up just to notice another huge mansion in front of you. It seemed familiar and you exactly know why. As your mom stopped in front of the entrance she storms the bell.
That's also when you notice that your hands were sweating. That probably always happens when you're nervous or apprehensive towards something. You bite your lip as your mom gestures you to stay behind her so the person who opened the door didn't notice you first.
"Ohmygod Haerin!"
Yells a specific voice your mother's name making you shiver. The two woman hug as if they didn't saw each other for an eternity yet she saw her last month. The screeching sounds coming from them didn't got unnoticed either which made you almost close your ears.
The way your mom nowadays behaved is as if she still was on her twenties. You really looked up to her for that because she always was positive, no matter what. It felt as if a kid in her was still there, which it was funny but also annoying at times.
Your thoughts get interruped as soon as someone pulls you in their arms. Your eyes widen and you snap for breathe. It felt as if they were compressing your bones together, that's how tight the hug was. After they let go you finally get to see in a old persons face. The dirty blonde haired woman smiled as her wrinkles showed on her forehead. Last time you saw her you remember the wrinkles not being there.
"Oh God!! You grew so much Hana!"
And you swear you could see the way her eyes sparkled, probably because she was almost on the verge of crying. You nod only after the certain woman pulls you in the house together with your mom. As you skip the floor she happily pushed you in the living room. You sit directly on one of the couches letting out a stressful sigh which luckily was unnoticeable for both females. Your mom and Mrs.Kang.
But it's not yet the time for you to relax cause you soon hear Mrs.Kang yell a distinct name.
"Yeosang!!!"
Your blood in your veins froze as soon as she mentioned the males name and you couldn't move out of the place you sat in.
"He's coming, I hope you guys are happy to see each other!"
All you could bring out was a nod not being able to process much what was happening as you hear some steps get heavier and louder. Your eyes were fixed on your hands immediately. They were all of the sudden interesting for you.
"Yes mom?"
A deep males voice spoke sending a shiver down your body making you suddenly flinch. Why were you reacting this way? It's not as if you're going to die is it? You take all your courage and stand up noticing how silent it was in the room. The next thing you realize is probably the captivating eyes which couldn't be torn apart from you. Your head shots up and you meet them feeling all of the sudden surprised.
The puzzles in your head suddenly come together and you feel your eyes widen as you realize how much he changed. The infant face was gone, he looked more grown up. The way he let his hand sink on his blonde hair made him stand out. And just then when you thought you're going to perish he flashed you a small smile taking steps towards you.
You weren't able to react much when he stood inches away. Your mother and Mrs.Kang had already left the room, sparing you both a special moment which you didn't notice at all.
"Hello"
He whispers and chuckled as soon as you tilt your head in confusion.
"Y-you-"
Before you could even finish your words you feel his arms suddenly wrap around you as he pulls you in a warm welcoming hug. The second time you almost hear your bones break. You chuckle a little as Yeosang pulls away and smiles widely.
"Wow my Hana is a grown up woman now I can't believe it. It's been awhile huh?!"
You blush at his sudden statement not knowing how to react making him laugh even louder than he already was.
"And still shy "
You snicker sending him a death glare all of the sudden. This eased the situation in the room and made it easier for you to not get awkward.
"I'm not shy"
You deny crossing your arms in front of your chest. Yeosang chuckled before aprubtly sending a wink your way.
"Yeah yeah whatever"
You laugh shaking your head not believing how he is all acting now. It's new, fast, yet so refreshing. Your perspective on visiting the Kang's family changed directly. Maybe it wasn't as uneasy as you thought it will be. Subsequently meeting your long 'lost' good friend. You decide to put your thoughts away as your gaze diverted at your watch. Yeosang smiled widely before he decided to speak up not letting the atmosphere die and asked you.
"Wanna see my room?"
Your eyes lit up and you nod eagerly before he gestures you to follow him the stairs up.
He opens a precise black colored door as soon as you come in the second floor, bending a little with a smirk on his face.
"Ladies first"
That made you laugh and you shake your head before stepping in.
Since when has he become so flirty?
Your eyes widened as soon as they wander around to notice how actual subordinate his room was. As far as you remember his room used to he always a damn mess.
"Make yourself at home"
You nod only wandering around the enormously huge room. The bed Yeosang threw himself on was king sized, there was a small table next to it, his wardrobes were huge and they were all decorated with black pattern. The wall was colored in white nothing mucht special.
Just then something certain caught your eyes. A picture that hung over his bed on the wall. You raise an eyebrow as you observe Yeosang. His hairs were dark brown in it, the whole opposite of his hairs now. Therefore your eyes land on someone next to him. On the picture was another male who had laid his arm around Yeosang almost strangling him. What perplexed you most was the way his hairs stung out.
Purple.
His hairs were purple. And you weren't going to lie, the male looked attractive. You furrow your eyebrows together. Yeosang had already noticed where your attention was drawn to. He stood up now sitting on his bed, deciding to answer before you ask.
"That's me and my best friend, last summer."
He almost whispered and you nod smiling a little. It's adequate that he has found other friends. You remember Yeosang being pretty introverted the past few years. It was hard for him to interact with new people. Now that seemed to change, it kinda made you glad that he was doing alright.
"You replaced me now huh"
You grin crossing your arms. Assuming by the look on your face, he already knew it was a joke so that's when he also decided to play with.
"Yah, you did too didn't you?"
Your jaw dropped and you pretend to be shocked at the same time hurt as you laid your hand on your chest before speaking up.
"Me? I would never!!"
"Stop lying!"
"Lying? I never lie you always has been the liar between us both!"
Yeosang shook his head furiously trying his best to hide his grin.
"Ma'am you're wrong! Very wrong!"
You can't help but burst out in laughter as soon as your friend called you ma'am. Not noticing how much you guys actually missed each other, you giggled together happily. A small smile is left on your lips after your laughter slowed. Deep down you cherish your mom for tugging you all the way here with or without your will. Cause just at such a moments you realized how much you were thankful.
