Lauren POV
I walked into the school with Ally to my left and Normani to my right. I had on my skinny jeans, a black red gray white plaid shirt on, my black red and white Nike's on, and a white and red snapback resting in my long brown hair. I looked at every girl that passed me and winked. Each one of them freaked out when I did. I had that power over them. I knew this was only highschool but this was my kingdom and everyone knew it.
I had the perfect life to a highschool kid. I had parents that where always gone on business trips, a huge house with a pool, a nice car, I am popular, but one thing made that even better. I am a lesbian. Everyone knows it. No one cares and no kids get bullied for it. There are some small bullying but I always put a stop to it when I see it.
I walked to my locker and Ally and Normani went to there's next to me. They where closer to each other then with me. But they where hot, so we where friends. We where all 'normal' girls. I grabbed my stuff and just closed my locker to look at people walk bye. "So what are we going to do this weekend? Lauren another party? Or something simple?" Ally asked after closing her locker. "Well it is Friday. I don't want to throw a party so any other ideas?" I said I didn't really want to do anything this weekend. I just wanted go sleep all weekend. The bell rung and we all walked to our separate classes. They went to there average classes and I went to my honors classes. I may be popular but I won't be stupid.
I walked into the class and took my seat. No one sat on either side of me. I was popular, they where all nerds, it was an obvious thing to do. The seats next to me where the only open ones in the class. The teacher stood up from her desk and clapped her hands. "Okay class we will-" someone knocked on the door and she went to open it. "Hello Mr.McHenry. Is this the new student?" She asked with a smile on her face. "Yes this is Karla Cabello. She will be starting here today. I expect you all to be accepting of her and make her feel welcome." He said in a deep voice. We all just murmured a 'yes sir.' And he left.
I zoned out looking at the girl. She was a little shorter than me it seemed and she had long black hair. She had caramel skin and deep brown eyes you could drown from looking into. Once I looked at her completely I sat up no interested in the new girl. "Lauren!" The teacher said annoyed. "Thank you for coming back to this world. Now will you please raise your hand so Camila can sit next to you.
I raised my hand and smiled slightly at the girl. Once she sat down I leaned over to her. " I thought your name was Karla." I said and into her ear. "If you would of listened you would of heard me say I don't like that name and I go by Camila." She said plainly obviously hiding her nervousness. I sat back on my seat and thought about the girl. I heard me name being called. I looked up to see the teacher saying names in pairs. "Lauren. You will be working with Camila for this." The teacher said and I looked over at the girl and smirked. This will be fun. I said and sat back in my seat.
"Okay class you can start working on your project with your partner." I turned to Camila she looked annoyed. "I was thinking we could do just a simple PowerPoint for the-" I cut her off. "What are we doing?" I said getting lost into her deep drown eyes. "Really? Just whatever. I'll do it and you can put your name on it." She said and turned away from me.
"Hey." I said and turned her back to me. "I'm in this honor's class for a reason. I don't let other people do my work for me. I'm going to do this. I was just in a different place then. So what is the project on?" I said and looked into her eyes that made me go to another world the first time. She looked shocked but took my hand of her shoulder.
"For the project we have to pick 3 books that have completely different meanings and then see how, even though they are made for different reason, they still share the same meaning in some way." She said. God the way she talks and how she pronounces words. Everything about her is- Lauren. Stop you can't fall for her. You have a reputation to keep up. "So what do you think?" She said. I knew she was probably confused because I was just staring at her in awe. "Um its cool. We should come up with 3 books we have both read before so we don't have to read 3 new books." I said and looked from the paper in front of us to her. She was looking at me crazy. "What?" I said and looked at her. "No-nothing." She said and looked from my eyes to the paper.
What did I do? The bell rang she she quickly got her things to leave. "Hey wait up! Um this sound weird and um.. C-can I have your number? F-for the project." I stuttered out. Why am I stuttering? I ask for bunches of girls numbers. I've never stuttered. She sighed and held out her hand. "Phone?" She said and I handed her my phone to type in her number. She saved it as 'camila' but I quickly changed it to a heart emoji.
She walked off but I ran to catch up to her. I never noticed her ass before. Its quite amazing. "Do you know where your going?" I asked her but she just looked away and shook her head no. "Well can I see your schedule?" I said and held out my hand this time. She gave me her schedule still not looking at me. I looked over the schedule I recognized every class and every teacher. "Well you will be seeing a lot of me. We have all the same classes." I said and put her schedule in her hand.
"Great " she said not wanting me to hear her, but I did. We got to the class and I made her sit next to me. We had a substitute anyways. He told us to work with a partner for a worksheet so I made sure Camila was my partner.
"Hey?" I said and she finally looked me in the eyes. "What did I do to make you hate me?" I said. I was always insecure and I wanted everyone to like me. But usually I hide it like I don't care. But she was different. "I never said that I hate you." She said and looked down at her paper. "Why do you make it seem like you do?" I said looking down at my paper. I knew every answer so I quickly filled it in and gave it to the sub.
She laughed when I sat back down. She has an amazing laugh. The kind of laugh you said funny jokes so you could hear her voice. "What?" I said confused. "What did you do? Put random answer and hope you got them right?" She said and looked at her paper with only 2 out of 10 questions answered. "No." I said and looked away. Why does she hate me so much? Why doesn't she believe I'm smart? Why is she bothering me? "Sorry. I didn't mean it like that." She said and looked at her paper answering another question. I didn't answer I just pulled out my phone.
I put my headphones in and listened to whatever was on my Phone. I texted Camila even though she was right next to me. But the bell was about to ring and we would go to lunch. I texted her to meet me at my house at 5, my address, and that it was me. I pressed send as the bell rung and went to my locker for lunch.
"Hey guys." I said intentionally not winking at girls and asking for numbers. I wasn't in the mood right now. "Hey Laur- Whats wrong?'' Normani said looking at me concerned. "Nothing. Just not in the mood for anything. Oh and I can't do anything tonight. I have plans." I said and closed my locker. "Oh. So who are you gonna bring over tonight?'' Ally said looking up at me. Ally was short. Like really short.
"Its nothing like that." I said annoyed they would think I just wanted to get in Camilla's pants. "Lauren stop. What's wrong with you? Why do you seem so stressed?" Ally said stopping us and looking up at me. "Not-" I stopped when I saw Camila walk down the hall alone getting looks from people. "Ohhh. You want to do the new girl?" Normani said jumping in. "No." I said simply and walked towards the big drown eyed girl.
"Hey did you get my text?" I said standing next to her as she went to her locker. "Yeah." She said simply not wanting to talk. "So you coming over? So we can do the project?'' I said rising and eyebrow. She just nodded and walked the opposite way of the cafeteria. "Are you going to the cafeteria?" I said a smirk plastered across my face. "Because if you are that's the wrong way.'' I said and she turned around. "Come on you can sit with me.'' I said and put my arm around her shoulder but she shrugged me off.
" Guys this is Camila. Camila this is Ally and Normani. " I said pointing at them. They gave each other a awkward smile. "She will be sitting with us at lunch today." I said and we walked into the cafeteria. The room went silent then the noise went back up. "So your the popular girl everyone is talking about in the hallways?" Camila said in a kind if disappointed voice as we sat down. I just nodded and she looked away scolding her self.
I heard someone stand up on a table and I looked up. "Hey look every one! The new girl is such a slut she already is sitting with Lauren. We all no what happens next!" Some girl I probably never called back said point at Camila. Camila stood up and ran off. What the hell? I stood up and ran after her. I saw someone run out the building so I followed them hoping it was Camila. It was.
"Hey! Camila are you okay?" I said and sat next to the beautiful girl. "Just leave me alone. All you want us sex from girls. I don't want that. Please just leave me alone." She said and pushed my arm away that was rubbing her back. "Hey. I-i don't want sex from you." I said not leaving. "Right." She said and scoffed at me. What the fuck? She doesn't even know me.
"Yeah that's right. I don't." I said and lifted her chin to look me in the eyes. I leaned in and she flinched. I went to her ear like I planed and not her lips. "You may be really hot. But your different. I don't want sex from you." I said and kissed her check and got up from the bench. "Remember my house. 5 o'clock." I said and walked away. You can't fall for her Lauren! You have a reputation to keep. You are gonna lose that for a silly girl! I walked to back to the cafeteria and sat back down like nothing happened. Everyone looked at me confused.
I stood up. "Just by the way!" I said quieting the room. "Yeah I may use a lot of girls for sex! But at least I'm not the one throwing myself at someone." I said simply and sat down. "What the hell?" Ally and Normani said in unison. "What did that girl do to you?" Normani said and touched my head to see if I had a fever. "Nothing. She did nothing." I said and took a bite of my sandwich.
