Rose POV

Why am I always the one to have to tell Anna and Jace to stop doing... whatever they are doing. I huffed as a shuffled down the hallway with Flynn followed behind me. He was serious for once, no easy smile on his face. We all knew what was about to go down. We had gone over it many times in the last few days.

I had gone over the plan earlier with Annabelle while we ate lunch in the kitchen. I was not shocked to hear she barely understood what was happening. However, she did know what to say and when to say it. That was the important part. Her innocent face and passionate love for those around her, especially Jace, would show through the camera and I even believed that may be enough, even if she forgot all her lines.

I reached Elizabeth's office and knocked on the door. Creeping it open I saw Jace sitting across from Annabelle's brother. Annabelle was standing by her brother. I smiled, "Umm, it's time guys... gear up."

Jace nodded, thanked me and took Annabelle's arm. He led her out of the room, leaving me standing in the doorway. Annabelle's brother walked up to me and held out his hand.

"Kyle," he said warmly, smiling at me. Shockingly my heart faltered. He was gorgeous and had a warm voice, smooth like honey.

I shook his hand shyly. "Rose".

I heard Flynn clear his throat behind me. I spun around to a very annoyed looking Vampire. I rolled my eyes at him, strutting off down the hallway. The nerve of that man.

I could hear Flynn and Kyle following me down the hallway, talking. I couldn't help but be annoyed with Flynn 99% of the time. He just knew exactly the buttons to push, even if he was doing it unintentionally.

I needed to clear my head of my frustrations quickly. We would have to work as a flawless team to pull off the initial takedown. We needed this plan to work.

Flynn would head into the station, under the guise of news from the king. I would be entering with him as... his pet. I would then communicate with Stanley once we were inside the control room. While the other 6 teams would clear the building for Annabelle's and Jace's entrance, Flynn would work on setting up the system from our side, while the team's back at the house would keep systems running. I would guard the door.

The escape plan was a little hazier. We would be using cloaking spells to confuse any extra guards that arrived and fighting our way out. The army at Elizabeth's disposal would be prepared in case things went wrong. However, we won't use them unless too many bodies started dropping.

Everyone was standing around, getting ready to be transported in the armies disguised van brigade. The drive would take an hour at most. It was the easiest way to get there without being suspicious. A powerful Witch could transport us, but it may alert other Witches in the area. Witches with reasons to tell Vampire guards.

Flynn stood behind me. He placed one hand on my shoulder. Despite my frustrations with him, I leaned into it. We would keep each other safe.

He was beginning to understand I was not like Annabelle. She is so... kind. So gentle and soft and even though I was bothered by these things, I also envied them. She chose the path less travelled. One of love and peace, even if those around her did not have the same values or make the same choices. I was different. I fought against anyone who fought me. I would not go down without a fight and I would work to keep him safe as much as he would work to keep me safe. I still remember parts of my pack life and it is how we were raised. We were a team and everyone had everyone's backs.

Elizabeth stood at the front of the room, preparing the groups. I was busy watching Annabelle. She had her eyes tightly squeezed and she and Kyle were holding each other's hands. Jace stood next to them, looking slightly queasy.

I was zoned out when I heard Flynn whisper in my ear. "You ready to go?" His breath was cold against my neck. Is anything about Vampires warm?

I nodded. "Mm-hm."

Flynn and I got in the first van with four others. We sat in silence for the entirety of the ride. 20 minutes in, Flynn engulfed my knee in his hands, massaging it absentmindedly. I tried to ignore it and think of our task, but he succeeded in distracting me until I was no longer fussing over our mission.

We arrived at what appears to be a town on the outskirts of a city. In a quieter part of town, the van stopped, letting Flynn and I out. In the car, he had placed a collar onto my neck. I couldn't help but grimace the entire time, my stomach churning. Flynn hooked a leash to the collar silently.

Outside, we walked down the streets, seeing mostly Witches and Wood Fairies wandering the town. Most stopped and stared. I tried to hold my head up, but after a while I let Flynn lead me by the leash as I trailed behind him slightly, looking at those who looked at me.

Once inside the city line, we began to see more Vampires, some Fallen Angels and even some leashed slaves or pets. Werewolves and Shifters, some older, but most young. I silently hoped that we could save them and that our plan would work. That people would see there is another way and that all of these slaves and pets wouldn't be too broken to fight.

Flynn tugged on my leash once. That meant we had arrived at the station. Flynn walked in without an issue, and I trailed behind him, starting to get more and more nervous. At the first sign of trouble, I would shift. That was the agreed-upon plan. I did not want to shift too quickly, we want as much of a chance as possible.

Flynn walked towards a woman that looked like a receptionist. A young-looking vampire with long black hair who was playing with her nails.

"I have a message that needs to be delivered."

The women ignored Flynn. He cleared his throat and she looked up annoyed.

Her entire demeanour changed once she looked at Flynn. "Oh, yes of course." She smiled at him flirtatiously. "What would this message be?"

Flynn stayed deadpan as he said his next line. "It is from the king, I need to be brought to the control room immediately."

The women's eyes widened. "The king! Oh, you must be important. Of course..."

"Flynn." Said Flynn, giving his real name. I questioned his reasoning for this but couldn't exactly say anything.

The woman led us down a hallway and made sure to brush Flynn's arm as she showed him which room he would need, letting him know that a man named Steven would be able to help him inside. I had to hold back a growl as the woman glared at me as she left.

"Come on Rose," whispered Flynn.

A large recording studio, almost like a newsroom had one person recording. It didn't appear they were live at the moment, as other screens had another program playing. This was a broadcasting room for one of the most prominent channels and they were recording their next show.

There were two Dark Angels operating cameras filming the Vampire man in the tight suit. A woman, who appeared to be a Witch, was sitting at a desk. One man, who looked like he was in charge, was wandering around the room, and a large man stood by the door. He would be the most difficult, as ideally, we would like the doors locked before we started the takedown.

One of the cameramen called for a wrap and he and the Vampire in the tight suit left the room. Two down, easy.

"What do you want?" asked the angry man wandering around the station. He took a minute to size me up before moving towards Flynn. I am assuming he decided I wasn't much of a threat.

"I have a message from the king. It needs to be broadcasted immediately."

The man looked angry. "What? We have a schedule to keep up with! We cannot just run on his schedule."

Flynn shrugged, "take it up with my manager."

I couldn't help but smirk.

"What are you smiling at WOLF?" screamed the man. I shook my head in disbelief. I guess I had been around somewhat reasonable people for the past little while that I forgot what it was like dealing with this type of Vampire.

Flynn's POV

The man yelling at Rose was enough to frustrate me. I jumped in with my only question for this man. I WAS going to try and get him to do some of the work for us, but it didn't seem like that was going to get us anywhere and we were running on precious time.

"Are there any other entrances to this room?"

The man looked at me dumbly. "No... what kind of question is that?"

"Good." I smiled and punched the man knocking him down easily. Turning towards the guard at the door, I attacked, trying my best to take him by surprise.

Rose quickly locked the door and shifted. In a minute I had the guard knocked out. Rose looked up at me shocked. I couldn't help but smile. I can be impressive sometimes.

Realizing the task at hand, I asked her if she had alerted Stanley. She had. The takedown would move forward. Rose quickly overtook the cameraman, ripping out his neck.

I knew Rose was a fighter but I didn't think she would go straight for the kill. I shuttered.

I moved to the woman who was sitting at the control desk, her hands in the air. She wasn't going to try and fight us, however, she was still a liability. I quickly knocked her out and caught her before she hit the floor. She was going to have a nasty headache in the morning but there is no point in killing those who we don't have to. Knocking them out is fine. Rose's bloody snout seemed to say different.

I had the studio ready to go live on all available stations. This would happen as soon as Jace and Annabelle came through the door.

Rose had been staring at the door for the last few minutes. We could both hear the noise. There was a fight going on, but I couldn't tell who was winning.

She stepped away from the door and barked, indicating for me to unlock the door. Annabelle and Jace moved in, with a bloodied Stanley following closely behind them. I did not know if he was covered in his blood or someone else's, but the way he walked with pride had me thinking someone else's. He took his place next to Rose, guarding the relocked door.

"Are you ready?" I asked the wide-eyed pair. They both nodded and Annabelle took Jace's hand, standing in front of the camera I had set up.

"A bit to the right." They moved.

I took a deep breath and we went live.

They did a good job of begging and pleading. They sounded so sincere and looked so in love that I had to imagine it reached out to some people. We were looking to place the idea of change in everyone's minds, give everyone something to think about. Jace explained that Vampires can stand together and make the change. Annabelle explained that there is a better way, that we can work together.

The broadcast shut off after 3 minutes. It was the power that was cut, not the broadcast. That meant our Witches did a good job of keeping it open. There is not much we can do about the power.

The power being cut actually would go well for us. We could escape in the confusion. Although most of us, Vampire, Werewolves and Shifters, etc. have pretty great night vision, it is still going to confuse a lot of the city.

Rose and Stanley flanked Jace and Annabelle's sides, ready to unlock the door and fight our way out. Before that happened, we could hear a scream from down the hallway. I look at Jace, back up has arrived.

Stanley growled.

"We have to go NOW," I scream. We opened the door into chaos. Annabelle looked at Jace fearfully and shifted into a wolf. Smart girl, she may have disguised herself, even though she is a different size than the Werewolves. Rose and Stanley jump into the chaos, ripping into Vampire flesh. I see royal colours, the guard is here.

I hear a gunshot go off and a scream. I try to keep my eyes on Rose but I quickly lose sight of her. Hoping she can protect herself, I focus on getting Annabelle out.

Before I can move forward, Jace has been stopped by 4 guards. I run towards my cousin, ripping guards off his back as he knocks out two of them.

Once all four guards are down, he turns toward me, panicked. "Where is Annabelle?!"

My heart stops. I turn back toward the fighting and see Stanley killing the last guard. The hallway is almost clear. "She must have gone with Rose! Let's go!"

Jace and I both follow Stanley out of the station and into the busy street. We race towards the meeting point, with Stanley running proudly beside us. I think he enjoyed that more than he should have.

In moments, we were in the last of the disguised vans, heading back towards the manor. Stanley shifted and put on a pair of gym shorts that were waiting for him. Once we were moving, I could see Stanley wincing. He was injured, however, it appeared to just be his shoulder. "Don't look at me!" He scolded me. "Worry about him."

I turned my attention back to Jace who was frantically calling the drivers of the other vans, looking for Annabelle. He was on the last van when we could hear Rose on the other end. "Rose! Thank goodness! Is Annabelle with you?"

There was a long pause on the other end.

Annabelle's POV

I thought my best bet would be shifting into a wolf. It was easy to fight like a wolf and I may be able to disguise who I am. I started to run down the hallway after Rose, Jace hot on my trail. Suddenly, I heard him scream from behind me. There was a Vampire, a guard from the palace, who had jumped on his back and sunk his teeth deep into Jace's arm. I knew it would heal quickly, but I couldn't help but run back towards him.

He had told me that if anything happened to him, to continue running, to get myself out, and even though I had agreed, I knew that would never happen.

I was stopped by a guard. He paused for a second and I growled. He chuckled. "I know who you are little missy."

That is the last thing I heard before I woke up, hours later, back in Jace's bedroom. With two grinning devils staring down at me.
