Chapter Twelve: Babe? That's Freaking Cliche

"What day is it today?" Someone asks me from the back as I turned around to see the guy named Ryan staring at me, a pen gripped on his hand, the nib pointed at the place where we're to write the day. I whispered.

"It's Monday."

It's not supposed to happen despite what I've been through this past days but nevertheless, my stomach gave a funny jolt thinking how I didn't realize days have passed this quick and today was the day Jayden will be starting to tutor my math. Not even by my choice, Mrs Goldwell's handpicked, the perfect student Jayden Flynn, who stood first in this term.

Ryan slightly nodded and focused on his paper, writing the day and I turned around, silently smiling, don't even know what for. I hated that playboy.

The time passed so quick and soon, my time was moving nearer and nearer, which was annoying at all point but there was at least one good thing I have came sure of. I wasn't going to get expel from school.

As the bell of the last period rang, clouds came breaking over my head. Why today had to be that special Monday? Groggily, I dragged my feet to my locker and threw the books and notebooks into it. Collecting the stupid posters of Johnny Depp, I buried them in my backpack making a mental note to tell Rose later about them. Who use posters these days?

My soul took my body to the 5th floor, room 59 exactly where Mrs Goldwell told me to go. I went to the left side of the corridor, because earlier when I went right almost unknowingly, there was 52, 54, 56 and 58. So obviously it would be the left for the rooms of odd numbers. My heart jumped. There was it. Room 59. I twitched my lips. Is Jayden here yet?

Carefully entering inside, I discovered him sitting with his legs placed on top of the table where he was sitting and fiercely typing something on it and smiling wickedly. My eyes almost rolled itself inside its socket. What more can I expect from Jayden Flynn?

"Would it be a crime if I ask you when did you get here?" I entered in the room looking around as I asked him.

But he shrugged nonchalantly as though not interested to answer my question.

"I don't know."

I dropped my bag on one of the table and sat next to him, trying to see what he's doing. Taking a glance, I gasped and whipped my head away seeing those dirty chats.

"Who're you sexting? Is this one that junior who was swallowing you the other day or someone else?" My body shuddered in disgust. Jayden looked so normal, even with his wicked grin or maybe perhaps I was getting used to it.

"No. I've met a leech again yesterday and God, she's too clingy but I'm seriously enjoying talking with this chick. This one knows how to start things."

I sighed in exasperation. "What's her name?"

A frown grows on Jayden's face. His concentration flies away in a blink as he scratch his head, trying to remember something. "I don't- her name...shit! Wait wait. Addison.. Anya.. Goddammit! I can't remember."

"Anita?" I said, staring at his phone. He saved her number and it was showing on the top of his screen. It reminded me somewhat of Sam when he gave his number to that shopping mall girl. People have eyes for a purpose right? Otherwise we wouldn't be able to see at all but this guy here doesn't seem to get it.

Jayden looks at me with his mouth hung open and then at his phone and rub his hands on the face in the mean time when I burst out laughing, banging my fist on the wooden table. I heard him muttering, "What's wrong with me?"

My laughter slowly died down and he proceeds to blacklist her number after almost five minutes of this shit. Then he turned to me, his lean body flexing as the fabric of his tight not that tight t-shirt- which suits him too well- stretched with him, his face expressionless.

"Are you usually this dumb or did you just lost control for a moment?" I said, regaining my breath.

He scowled, flipping his hand. "What do you mean by lost control?"

I sucked my bottom lip. "I mean, I know you're thick headed, but were you always this idiot or you aren't but in that moment, your brain just stopped working for some seconds? Do you need another perfect definition of dumb?"

His face twitched in annoyance but the trade mark smile bloomed anyways. "I'm not thick headed Queen. How did I get first then?" Jayden straightens and recline his hands forward to its full length. "Wasn't I supposed to teach you? What am I even doing here? Did you revise that part of Calculus I told you to the other day?"

"Uh- yes." I lied. He narrowed his eyes at me then brings out his math book, the book I've been dreading for all my life. I gulp audibly. He's not going to test me now right? Jayden flips the pages, his face now serious. Even in this moment, I couldn't help but notice the stubble on his cheeks prominent, giving a clear impression that he's not shaving them for days.

I slapped my cheeks firmly. Focus.

Jayden's eyes zero on me as his eyebrows scrunched up. "What kind of people whack themselves? I knew you were a crackhead."

I rolled my eyes. His fingers stop at a page and I swear I saw him licking his lips like that math was a feast and he looks up at me, eyes shining in possibly delight, if not: gratification. "Do number 9."

I didn't let him see that I'm horrified inside when I took the book confidently and gazed at the fricking number 9 and hard to believe, I know but I couldn't believe it too when I noticed I had done it without any problems or interruption.

I felt a hard strike on my back and an obvious shriek coming from him. Grinning at him, I pushed the notebook towards Jayden as he snapped his fingers in excitement not bothering to check my math. "I don't need to do that. I know the answer is right, I know them like the back of my hand. Alright alright, no time to lose. Do.. number 13."

Surprisingly, this one too turned out to be extremely easy. A thought crossed my brain and it took me aback a bit. I am able to do it right that's because I know the basics which Jayden had taught me at that cafe. And not only this, my mind instantly realized, I can do all of them no matter what happens.

After almost one and half hour of doing math and memorizing peculiar formulas, we both called it a day and start to pack my things, me satisfied by all the study. After all, math isn't that bad, I think. Slinging the bag on shoulder, Jayden jumped up and down for a couple of seconds like a kid in an amusement park for the first time and said, "Did you enjoy it? Am I good teacher? Tell me, tell me!" I swear a four year old is stuck inside of this 18 year olds body.

"Yeah maybe." I mumbled, checking my phone if there was any texts from Blake. Things were pretty easy on us from that incident. He even told me to join with Owen, Noah and Kai in a Mortal Combat match last day. Though I didn't. Video games aren't my thing. Rosetta maybe plays Call Of Duty Modern Warfare or something like that, so I told him to ask her.

Jayden purse his lips in a pout. "Come on. Just give a proper answer."

"Okay, it was great. I honestly understand things better than I did before. Are you still not happy?" I huffed.

"Yup." He popped the p. I laughed at that, as we got out from the silent room that was filled with our loud talks, walking in the corridor side by side.

There was a noise beside me and I tilted my head, seeing a struggling Jayden who was muttering things and trying to bring out his phone from his pocket. At last when he does, he hissed at the screen like a snake ready to strike.

"This fucking chicks won't leave me alone. Look at that, I'm not even on her photo and she tagged me all over this." he shows me a photo of certain someone and I got distracted by the face at first then disgusted at the short green shorts practically underwear and the tank top- don't get me started. Kate Gosling would be the only one to do this job. I stick my tongue out and moved the phone away from my sensitive eyes. Sweatpants and jeans are enough for me.

"How do you know Kate?" he asked me, pushing his phone inside his pocket after silencing it.

I breathed loudly. "You tell me. Who doesn't know the cheer leading squad? But I wonder, you do nothing. Then why are you so famous among people? Even guys envy you and for a mysterious reason, they want to be your friend."

Jayden looked diverted for a moment. Putting his arms behind his head, he blew a raspberry with his mouth. "I don't know Queen. But trust me, I never wanted to be like this."

Questions were starting to bubble up in my stomach yet I didn't want to ask him about them. I don't want to be nosy about things I know I shouldn't. Biting my lip, I ran my fingers through my hair, slightly pushing it back.

"You know what that Alexis girl told me last night?" he suddenly chuckled as I felt the Jayden Flynn vibe coming back again so I played along.

"Anita. And what is that?" I asked.

"Whatever. No difference. She told me to call her babe since we're a thing now. I couldn't help it when I said I was having a hard time remembering her name but still she won't let me go. But that's fun talking with her that she doesn't even know I was going to blacklist her number later. Oh boy she'd be in trouble."

I snorted. "Babe? That's freaking cliche. What does this girls find with this couple shit? Kate is getting a new boyfriend every week even so she won't let go of you. When was the last time you guys had.. that?"

"I don't know. Last Wednesday? Although I told her it was still a one time thing." This guy... "Why do you ask by the way? Oh don't tell me..." his hands cupped his cheeks, rather too dramatically that I had to cringe. "Are you jealous?!"

My head whipped towards his direction and I whacked him with my hands until I'm fully satisfied and him screaming to stop. Jayden rubbed all over his arms where I hit him and scowled. "Come on Queen seriously? You could be jealous. Every girls want me. Even boys want me. It's horrible."

"Well lucky for you, I'm not those girls who drools over guys like they are a piece of steak which is so tasty." I grimaced. It was so evident that I had to hide a sneer. That was a terrifying scenario.

He gesture towards his body and grinned. "But certain people does drool over me because they want a piece of this tasty steak."

I rolled my eyes at the remark. "Gross."

The moment we stopped in front of my house, the first thing I noticed was dads car on the lawn. I and Blake don't get to see him this days since he is a very busy man with his all job and stuffs. I hopped off from Jaydens bike. It would be a great problem if he sees me with him.

I looked at him from my side. "That's my dads car.  I might have to go now."

He nodded. "Yeah sure."

I walked forward and heard his bike turned around and stopped at a little distance. That wasn't truly my intention, but I couldn't help but turn around and smile at him and he returned it with his dizzying one.

Stepping inside of my house, I heard an unfamiliar female voice and indistinct talking of my parents.

"Mom? Dad?" I called out, opening the door of the living room.

A lady with a white trouser and blue top was sitting beside mom and dad was at the opposite side of the couch, all three of them rather smiley. I caught a glimpse of the lady's face, which looked oddly familiar for two reasons. One of the reason was maybe Jayden and another one was maybe Jessi.

She was their mom. Mrs Flynn.

The lady... Mrs Flynn, kindly smiled at me as she waved her hands childishly at me. "Hi sweetheart. You must be Evelyn? Jay talks about you all the time at home. I'm Nicole."

Putting a smile on my face, I walked forward to shake hands with her but mentally praying not to say anything about Jayden and me further. I have to be in trouble for this. Does telepathy work in this kind of situation?

"Hello Mrs Flynn."

"Oh dear! Don't call me Mrs Flynn, it makes me feel older than I am already. Please just call me Nicole." she sweetly says, and I realized from where Jessi got her charming. There's absolutely no fake tone in her voice and I liked her immediately, just like Jessi.

The back of my pocket vibrated where my phone  was, giving me the notice that it was a text. I take my phone out from there.

Unknown number: its stupid but i wonder if my mom is at yours?

My mind instantly remember, he had my number since the start. I quickly texted back.

Me: its not stupid and yes, she is here.

I save his number as 'Mr Biggest Idiot In the World' and smiled at myself as I  went back to our conversation again and I see the three dots popped up just bellow his contact and there was another message from him.

Mr Biggest Idiot In the World: Imma coming over.

Me: Okay. if u want.

Another moment later, our calling bell rang throughout our house and I imagined how fast he could walk despite how little time it has passed since his last text. Barely 20 seconds?

I run to the door and opened it and without a hesitation, he straightly walked inside, not even bothering to leave his converse. Following him there, I called him from behind. "Do you even know our house? Sorry it's a bit messy though..."

"Mom, there you are!"

All three of them stared at  Jayden at the same time and I wished I could sink inside a tube right now.
