"Ah.. Appy Burday mommy" Kemoni yelled through FaceTime, sticking her face in the camera. I laughed and smiled, pulling my cup away from my lips
"Thank you baby. I love youuuu"
"Luhhhh youuuuuuu" she repeated before quickly switching to a yell as Nasir's hand went across her face, trying to get in the camera
"Ma!" He yelled with a smile
"Stop siir!" Kemoni fussed with a frown. My momma then grabbed the phone and shook her head
"Alright y'all two!... bad asses"
"My babies ain't bad" Kentrell muttered, still holding the phone
"Well ima let y'all go finish being grown"
I laughed
"Alright"
"And Happy Birthday again baby"
"Thank you momma"
Kentrell then hung up the phone and I started drinking from my cup again. My eyes wandered over to Kentrell as he kept his attention on his phone a little longer. I don't know if this liquor was starting to get to me or what, but all of a sudden he was finer than usual even though he was dressed down and comfortable. After finally looking up from his phone he glanced over at me
"What?"
Just as I was about to open my mouth to say something, Elena called me
"Noel! Y'all look at this"
I stood up and walked over into the kitchen where everybody else was and Kentrell followed behind me. Elena was standing against the counter with Kd literally right behind her as she showed him something on her phone with a smile
"What?"
I walked up beside her and she showed me her phone
"Awweee you bout to make my sister cry" Elena's voice boomed through the phone as a video played from years ago when Kentrell surprised me with gifts at school on my birthday
"Those were the days. Now I feel old as shit"
"Cause you is old as shit" Kentrell told me so I turned around and punched him
"My nigga you older than me"
"So"
The door opened and Ben walked in with Tyler behind him
"BEST FRIENDDDDDD"
I looked at him and laughed. As the door was about to close behind Tyler, it was opened again and Tip walked in
"Hey y'all"
"Bitch where you been hiding?" Elena asked tip, causing her to stop and see everybody was looking at her
"I been chillin"
"Mhmmm. Chillin on some dick" I spoke up and tip looked at me, laughing
"Lemme find out she sneakin round with a nigga. Why you ain brought him"
"Cause we discrete right now"
"Yo Damn relationships always discrete" Kentrell replied to tip as I wrapped my arms around him
"Although yb right, that nigga can't even spell discrete" ben cracked so Kentrell took a pen that was on the counter and threw it at him
"Nigga ain't you barely graduated?"
"And you barely made it past yo freshman year" Kd joined in causing everyone to laugh
"Not too much on my man" I defended Kentrell "especially if y'all don't want me to start on y'all"
"Noel you ain't safe either. We can get on yo ass too"
I frowned and the door opened again. This time it was Makayla, boomer, baby joe and Liyah
"Where's my best friend?" I could hear liyah ask. I pushed Kentrell back and damn near jumped on her making Kentrell feel some type of way and Liyah laughed
"Liyah! I missed you so much"
"I missed you too"
"Damn Im glad Liyah the only person you saw"
I hopped off of Liyah and smiled, hugging Kayla
"You know you was next. I just ain't see Liyah in a couple weeks. I see y'all asses all the time"
"Yeah yeah. Now go ahead and show me what Kentrell got you this year for your birthday"
I started cheesing. I didn't expect Kentrell to go all out for my birthday this year but for some reason, he went above and beyond
"come on" I motioned for them to follow me they did. I went down the hall to our bedroom and opened the door, turning the light on so they could see. On the bed were flowers, bags, boxes and jewelry. He already said he had one last surprise for me but it wouldn't be done until the end of the week
"Okay Kentrell showin' out for wifeyyyy" Makayla said as she walked over to the bed and looked at the stuff. Liyah went over to one of the boxes and opened it
"Oh! Oh shit. This is cute"
I walked over to see what she was talking about and it was a chain that he got for me
"Them diamonds dancing ain it?"
"Forreal" she continued to look at it then looked at my hand "and I had a feeling he got the ring to match too"
Kayla grabbed my hand and looked at the ring
"Look at y'all. Make me sick"
"You know you love us"
"My nigga quandoooooo!" I could hear Ben yell and Liyah rolled her eyes
"Y'all still ain't cool?" I asked her
"It's complicated. It's just awkward as hell everytime we around each other. And I told joe I hate that I put him in an awkward position"
"But I mean you and joe wasn't even talking and you said what happened with Tyquian just happened out of the blue. If anything Tyquian was the one holding onto it cause joe didn't even have to know"
"I know.... but you know what, I'm happy, we happy and it's your birthday so we ain't even gone worry bout it"
"All we need is some drinks in our system and everybody good. Come on" I grabbed her hand and exited the room.
We went back into the kitchen where everybody was and I couldn't help but realize that Elena and Kd were extremely close tonight.
"Noel!" Tyquian called out my name, walking over to me. I let go of liyah's hand and hugged him "Happy Birthday witcho old ass"
"Why y'all tryina play like y'all ain't older than me"
"I tried to tell her" Kentrell muttered. I stuck my finger up at him and he laughed.
"Lena and Kd, y'all lookin extra comfortable tonight" Liyah called them out and they stopped talking.
"Told y'all they was gone be fuckin again"
Elena rolled her eyes at Kentrell's comment
"We ain't together again"
"But that ain what I said. I said y'all was gone be fuckin again"
I looked at Elena and she looked at Kd
"Mhmmmm. Asses busted"
"Shut up" she and Kd both laughed
"We all knew it was gone happen eventually. I ain even surprised nomo" Kentrell shrugged as somebody knocked on the door
"Who that knocking?" Ben asked and I made a face
"Shit you act like we supposed to know"
"Well this y'all crib"
"And everybody we know just walks right in"
"I'll answer it" Liyah walked out of the kitchen and to the door, baby joe followed behind her
"Probably tip secret nigga" Elena mumbled and tip kissed her teeth, laughing.
"It's not"
She then leaned back against a counter and looked to her left
"You either lyin bout something or hidin somethin"
"Ion got nothin to hide"
Tyquian started chuckling and Kentrell paused for a minute, looking at him then started laughing while looking at tip
"I know you fuckin lyin mane"
"What?" I asked him and he sipped from his cup
"We gone talk later"
"Aye, Yb" Baby joe called him to the door. By the time of his voice it didn't sound so good
"What?" Kentrell looked at me then walked off, going to the door. Everybody looked at me and I knitted my eyebrows together. The talking in the kitchen went down to a minimum and I could hear a female's voice at the door. We tried to stay quiet for a little bit so we could hear
"Oh hell no!" I could hear liyah blurt our after a while before walking towards the kitchen "Noel! Come here"
"Unt unt. What's the problem" Elena asked as I walked over to the door, just about everybody following behind me
When I got to the door a girl around our age stood there, sounding like she was semi-arguing with baby joe and Kentrell. Kentrell's face was bawled up and baby joe looked some type of way
"So you tellin me I'm lying Kentrell!?"
"Hell fuckin yeah!"
"What's the problem?" I asked as I walked up beside Kentrell. The girl looked at me and scoffed
"What? You wifey now?"
"And who the fuck are you?" I asked her, with attitude. I wasn't even gonna come at her like that but she already started off wrong
The girl rolled her eyes at me and looked at Kentrell again "Kentrell do you think I would sit here and come to your door just to lie to you! If I wasn't sure I wouldn't be here. Don't act like you don't know me"
"Excuse me?! I know damn well I'm not invisible"
Kentrell shook his head "mane I ain bout to entertain this bullshit"
"Wow" the girl laughed then looked at me "me and Kentrell used to mess around a few years back in high school before I left"
"Get this bitch outta here" Kentrell hissed, walking off
"And why is that relevant now? He ain't worried about you."
"I don't care about him being worried about me. All I care about is him being worried about Karter"
"Who the hell is Karter?" I asked, looking back at Kentrell then at the girl
"His 5 year old son"
When she said that my heard damn near stopped and I froze up while she stood there with her arms crossed, staring me down
