A/N ok first off I am soo sorry I didn't post.. I went to the state fair with my family and was super tired when I got home.. my toes still hurt.. but anyways this is really just a head cannon as to why Ned's real name is Edward but his nickname is Ned..

Ok so the head cannon is.. what if one day, when Ned was younger, he was getting in trouble and his parents shouted "NO ED!" (cus I'm guessing Ed was his old nickname) and his little sister (imma just think he gotta little sister) tried repeating it but said "N- ED!" But it came out as Ned instead of "no Ed." Then the name Ned just kinda stuck around cus his parents thought it was cute..
But that was just my really short head cannon as to why his nickname is Ned but his real name is Edward..
