And for the first time in almost 4 years, we were back in Arizona. Kentrell, Kd and Baby joe ended up coming along because they wanted to be there for us and even though I really appreciate that, I just pray they don't get into anything stupid out here
We all ended up staying at my grandma's house, which my mom usually rented out to people after she died, and liyah and baby joe just went to liyah's sister's place.
While Kemoni quietly sat on my lap watching tv, I decided to do her hair.
"Noel" my momma called out my name as she walked out of the kitchen wiping her hands. I stopped brushing kemoni's hair and looked up at her
"Yeah?"
"You hungry?"
"No. Not really" I shook my head and she sighed
"I need y'all to eat. You, Elena and Dana... Kemoni you hungry?"
"Yeah. Some Chicken" she suggested while throwing her hands up. I looked down at her and laughed while my momma did the same
"Alright then. Come on and help me cook some chicken"
Kemoni looked back at me and waved "bye mommy"
"Bye? I'm doing your hair"
She slid off of my lap and walked over to my momma who grabbed her hand before looking at me
"You go upstairs and check on your sisters. All of y'all isolating y'all selves and y'all need each other the most right now"
"But I was doing her hair-"
"Don't worry bout her hair, I got it... these ponytails ugly so I was gone take em out anyways"
I rolled my eyes and stood up while they walked into the kitchen. As I started up the steps Kentrell was making his was down
"Where you going?"
"Outside"
"Oh" I plainly responded, knowing he was about to go smoke "Where Nasir at?"
"With Lena"
I nodded and headed upstairs to the room Elena was in. Kd walked outta the room, about to close the door but stopped when he saw me heading towards there
"I was just about to look for you"
"Why? What happened?"
"Yo sister askin' questions I can't answer"
"Oh lord" I mumbled before walking into the room while Kd followed behind me. Elena laid back on the bed with Nasir sleep beside her while she ate on hot Cheetos. Once she saw me she pushed her glasses up some
"Hey! Is it true that you can eat your placenta after you have your baby?"
I stopped walking and looked back at Kd, who made a disturbed face with a shrug
"I mean. Yeahhhhh. But why?"
She picked up her phone while stuffing more hot Cheetos in her mouth
"This website says it raises your energy and breastmilk quantity. And I plan on breastfeeding so ima have to produce a lot. Especially if this baby is as greedy as she is in the womb"
"Well I mean, if you wanna do it then have fun"
"If I was to cook it would y'all eat it with me?"
"No"
"Hell no" Kd responded along with me and she frowned.
"Well fuck y'all too"
"Lena I didn't even eat my own placenta. Why would you think I'd want yours?"
"Cause mine probably tastes better" she shrugged and scrolled on her phone. I looked at Kd and he shook his head
"She been acting like this since we touched down out here"
"Noel" Dana called out my name while she walked into the room carrying a sleeping Kaleb "let momma know we bout to head out for a little bit with my homegirl Joya"
"Okay" I replied while she walked out the room and then sat on the bed beside Elena.
"Okay, what if I deep fry it?"
"Elena nobody wants to eat your placenta!" I instantly responded back and she frowned
"Fuck y'all then"
"Aye Kd!" Kentrell called out while walking into the room "you seen my lighter?"
He shook his head and Kentrell looked at the three of us
"The hell yall in here talkin bout?"
"If I was to cook my placenta after I have Kennedi, would you try it with me?"
"The fuck? Hell no" Kentrell rudely answered and she shook her head. Nasir started moving around beside her and eventually popped his head up with the nastiest look on his face
"What's wrong papas?"
He held onto Elena's shoulder as he stood up on the bed and tried to lay his head on her shoulder so she held him and started smiling. When I saw a tear fall from Elena's eye I cocked my head to the side
"Lena, you okay?"
"Yeah" she nodded while still holding him tight "I'm just so ready to have my baby"
"Trust me when they get here you wish you could send em back to where they came from"
"Ain't sending my kids nowhere" Kentrell muttered. I grabbed onto his jeans and pulled him in front of me
"You feelin better now?" Kentrell asked me and I shrugged
"Feel better for what? I've been perfectly fine this whole time"
"So that's a no?" He replied and looked at Elena who was still hugging Nasir tight "and I know you ain Alright"
"I'm fine. I'm just enjoying the love I'm getting from my nephew" Elena mumbled and I laughed a little
"Noel, Elena" My momma walked into the room with Kemoni behind her, eating a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar
"Why are you eating ice cream?"
"Cause I gave it to her. Leave her alone" momma answered "anyways. They're supposed to be doing something at your dads house tomorrow if y'all wanted to go"
"Can you go with us?" Elena asked and momma laughed
"Girl them people can't stand me. They had a whole cookout to celebrate when I divorced your daddy. I think I'll just stay here cause this is already hard on y'all and I don't wanna start no drama if somebody says the wrong thing to me. Besides, Derek is flying out here tomorrow morning and I don't feel like hearing them say anything about me bringing him over there"
"So! Let em talk. You here for us and Derek is doing exactly what any great stepdad would do, be here for us when we need it the most. Forget them people" I told her and Elena shrugged
"I say we don't go then cause if somebody say the wrong thing to you ima-"
"Whatcho Pregnant ass gone do?" Kentrell asked her and she made a face
"No y'all gone go" momma told us "I'll be alright"
"No, you going too ma" Kentrell told her while Kemoni walked over to me and jumped on my lap
"Yeah. And trust me, you ain't gotta worry bout nothing. We got our boys if they try anything"
Kentrell threw his arm across my momma's shoulder "Yeah, you know me, baby joe and Kd gone wreck shit up for you"
She laughed and shook her head "I asked the lord to bless me with boys. And he gave me y'all fools. What did I do?"
"I all done" Kemoni told momma while she stuck out her ice cream bar which was barely eaten. Before momma could grab it she turned around and put it to my lips "here ma"
"I'm good baby. I don't want it"
"Hmmm" she tried to press it to my lips so I bit a piece of it causing her to smile. She then turned around and handed it to Kentrell. He grabbed it from her and started eating it while my momma twisted up her nose
"It's disgusting right" Elena spoke out of the blue and my momma nodded
"What?"
"You and Kentrell just eat after each other like that"
"Especially after Kemoni" Kd added
"We both know where each other's mouths been"
Elena looked at Kd "I will NEVER!"
"You ain't got worry bout none of that"
"Y'all just some haters. Ain it Kemoni..."
"Yeah" she smiled and looked over at Elena with Nasir now sitting on her lap
"Come on Siir"
Kemoni tried to hold her arms out for him but he just laid back against Elena's stomach looking at her some type of way. When she realized he wasn't coming for her, she hopped off of my lap and walked closer to Elena
"Kemoni, girl let me bond with my nephew"
"I want siir" she whined a little bit then looked back at Kentrell before looking at Elena again
"Whatcho daddy gone do? He can't touch a pregnant woman"
"Tuh" he muttered while still eating the ice cream and I slapped him in his stomach
As soon as Kemoni reached and touched Nasir's arm, he yanked it away and mugged her, yelling. I guess she didn't like that so she tried to roll her eyes and went over to my momma, grabbing her hand
"My chicken"
"Let me go cook this girl her chicken" momma sighed and followed Kemoni out of the room
