"Mama you gone blow out your candle?"
Kemoni looked around at all of us recording her, smiling big for the cameras instead of looking at the cake
My babygirl was finally two and I think I've been emotional about it all day. While she continued to pose, sitting on the table beside the Mickey Mouse cake, Kentrell stood behind her to ensure that she wouldn't fall and I was busy recording with one hand while bouncing Nasir who was starting to not become a people person
"Come on Kemoni" I leaned over beside her and she looked at the cake before reaching for the candle then looked at Kentrell
"That mine?" She asked pointing to herself and he nodded
"Yeah, blow outcha candle"
Kemoni began smiling and reached over to the cake and attempted to blow out the candle. Thank god it was her own personal cake because she was letting out more spot than anything. Eventually I ended up helping her blow out the candle and everybody started clapping so she did the same
"Yayyyy" she yelled and then stop clapping long enough to stick her fingers into the cake and put them in her mouth before looking at Kentrell. She put her hand back into the cake and grabbed some of it before reaching it out to him
"Hmmm"
"Nah I'm good shawty" he told her with a laugh. Kemoni smiled then ate the cake, getting it all on her shirt
"You making a mess Moni" Micah told her and she frowned up her face at him
"No!"
"Leave my baby alone. Whatchu is? The cake patrol" Kentrell asked Micah and he started laughing while letting off a shrug
"Ma!" I called out while looking for my momma, finding her right beside me making a face
"The hell you had to be so loud for child. I'm right here"
"My bad. Can you go cut the other cake for them kids for me. I'm bout to go put him to sleep cause he gotta attitude problem" I referred to Nasir who was busy mugging everybody in his eyesight then let out a yawn
"Go ahead. I got it"
"Thank you" I thanked her before walking off down the hall towards Kentrell and I's bedroom, meeting Elena in the hall as she exited the bathroom
"You had to pee again?" I asked her with a laugh and she nodded
"This child is sitting on my bladder. She childish just like her damn daddy"
I laughed and shook my head while I walked into the room and she followed behind me, closing the door behind her
"You know what I've been meaning to ask you"
"What?"
"You and Kd.." I started while I laid Nasir back on a pillow, grabbing his bottle and gave it to him "so are y'all together again or what?"
"Nah. I honestly don't think we'll ever get back together again. I believe what we have now works for the both of us"
"And what's that cause one minute it seem like y'all together then I don't know"
"We're just co-parenting"
We both sat down on the bed causing Nasir to look at us but he went back to sucking his bottle
"That boy got mean as shit"
"Apparently all of Kentrell's kids hit that mean stage around 9 months. I had to bring him round here before he started being fussy and if he start crying Kemoni gone cry cause her brother crying. If she start Kaleb and Bryson gone start for no reason and Micah the little peace maker gone damn near stress himself out tryina get them quiet"
Elena laughed "Micah always trying be a damn peacemaker. Act just like his momma"
"I swear"
I looked down at Nasir. He was falling asleep but he was still tryina fight it a little so he threw the bottle to the side and rolled over on his stomach while inching his way to me, laying his head on my lap then closed his eyes
"My babies getting big" I sighed while I rubbed his head full of hair
"And the older they get the more they look like Kentrell"
"Forreal" I looked down at Nasir again and this time he was going to sleep. "With his nappy ass hair"
"Whatchu doing for his birthday?"
"I don't know yet. We took Kemoni to Disney world for her first birthday"
"Correction. They took YOU to Disney world for her birthday"
"Fuck you bitch" I pushed her a little and we both laughed "you heard anything about your ex-fiancé lately?"
"Girl he going through it. His lil girlfriend left him after they blew through the same money I told him to save up. Now he stuck with a fucked up back cause he can't pay for therapy and the nba don't wanna pay because they don't know the possibilities of him being able to play again, now he back in Baton Rouge"
"Well that didn't last long. Lost his whole career because of an argument over some text messages"
Elena nodded with a grin on her face which made me give her a questionable look
"Whatchu did?"
"I didn't do nothing. But I know what Donovan did"
"What he do?"
"You know Daejah, Kentrell's ex?"
"How can I not know that bitch"
"Well her baby, that's Donovan's"
When Elena said that my eyes nearly popped out of my head
"Wait what!?" I asked out loud, causing Nasir to jump a little so I quickly quieted down
"Yup. He actually was cheating on me, flexing like he was loyal the whole time but I didn't find out until after we broke up. That's when I saw Daejah in a store one day with that baby and she was with some girl talking about how Donovan act like he don't wanna do for the baby. So I hit him up and was like damn, you had a whole bitch pregnant on me. That's when I guess he was feeling bold cause we ain't together nomore so he just spilled everything and we were going back and forth for a while until I finally left him on read. That was a few dats before the accident though"
"What the fuckkkk..." I muttered as the room door opened. Liyah walked in while shaking her head
"Kids and sugar just don't work for me"
"That's cause you basically the only one that ain't a parent yet"
"Trust me I'm not having kids..."
"I said the same thing I said" Lena told her "now look at me. But trust and believe this is my first and last one"
"And that's the same thing I said" I responded to Lena "now look. I'm putting one to sleep while the other one getting chocolate wasted for her birthday"
"That's because Kentrell intentionally got you pregnant. Him and baby joe always talkin but unlike you, My birth control kill the fuck outta them sperm cells"
"Well first of all fuck you"
"NOELLLLLLLLLLL" a voice yelled out my name causing Nasir to jump up from his sleep and I exasperated loudly. He immediately tried to climb up on me so I sat him on my lap while the room door swung open. Of course it had to be kendell
"Why?" I asked him and he smiled, walking over to me
"Cause I'm grown as fuck. Next question?" He responded while grabbing Nasir from me "Come on nephew. You in here with too many hormones"
"Shut up stupid" Elena muttered and he smiled at her
"Sup fatass"
"I don't like you.. I mean I REALLY don't like you"
"I know. And I love it" ken responded to Elena then slapped liyah upside the head before walking out of the room with Nasir
"That boy irks my nerves" I laughed while the room door was pushed open again. This time Kentrell walked in like he was looking for something
"What's wrong baby?"
"You seen my wal-"
I reached over to the nightstand and grabbed his wallet, reaching out to him. He grabbed it from me then went through it. He grabbed a couple of bills and tossed it back to me before walking over to the bathroom
"Well throw all your shit on me then"
"I will" he responded from the bathroom. After a few seconds he walked out this time without a shirt on
"You can't ever keep a shirt on?" Elena asked him
"Shut up fatass" Kentrell responded then slapped liyah upside the head
"Why do y'all keep hittin me? I ain even say nothing"
"Guilty by association" Kentrell responded while walking out of the room . Elena and liyah looked at me but I mean what could I say. Instead I just scratched my head and laughed
