Stefan: "Thanks for coming guys." He says as Alaric and Jaylan walk into the house
Damon: "Can I get you something to drink? Coffee, bourbon, bourbon in your coffee?" He asks as Jaylan rolls her eyes and sits down next to Alaric
Alaric: "Elena mentioned you needed our help."
Stefan: "Yeah. We were, uh, hoping you could help shed some light on the Lockwood family."
Jaylan: "The Lockwoods?" She asks confused
Alaric: "Why would I know anything about the Lockwoods?"
Damon: "Well, you wouldn't. But your dead Not-dead vampire wife might."
Elena: "Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke together."
Stefan: "You said that she had spent years researching this town."
Alaric: "Isobel's research here in Mystic Falls was rooted in folklore and legend. At the time, I thought most of which were fiction."
Damon: "Like that amazing vampire story."
Elena: "Aside from vampires, what else?"
Alaric: "The lycanthrope."
Jaylan: "Wait, like werewolves?"
Damon: "No way. Impossible. Way too Lon Chaney."
Stefan: "Is it?"
Damon: "I've been on this planet 160 some odd years, never come across one. If werewolves exist, where the hell are they?"
Jaylan: "Why suspect the Lockwoods?"
Damon: "Because vervain didn't affect the mayor on Founders Day, the Gilbert device did. And it affected his son Tyler."
Stefan: "And at the school carnival, his Uncle Mason exhibited inhuman behavior when he fought one of the carnival workers. It suggested some sort of a supernatural entity."
Jaylan: "That's how all the men in the Lockwood family are," She says sighing "Why do you think I was happy when the doctor said I was having a girl."
Elena: "We were hoping that Isobel's research could help us figure out what it is."
Alaric: "Well, all of her things are still at Duke. Ahem. I mean, her office is still there. She's technically still missing."
Damon: "So can we get access to it?" He asks as Alaric looks skeptical about it "Ric, we need to know what we're dealing with. If this wolfman thing is true, I've seen enough movies to know it's not good. It means Mason Lockwood is a real-life Lon Chaney. And that little Tyler punk may just very well be Lon Chaney Jr. Which means Bela Lugosi, meaning me, is totally screwed."
Damon: "Sure you don't wanna come? It'll be fun."
Jaylan: "Spend hours looking at your face?"
Damon: "It's a beautiful face." He says smugly
Jaylan: "Mmh pass." She says leaning up against the side of the car
Damon: "Are you ever gonna forgive me?" He asks as she ignores him and keeps looking forward "You can't say that you hate me. You stopped Bonnie from killing me."
Jaylan: "Being mad at you and wanting you dead are two different things."
Damon: "So you don't hate me. There's hope." He says getting close to her ear before going inside the car and honking the horn
Jenna: "Elena, are you coming?" She calls from in the doorway of the house
Damon: "Sorry you can't come too, Stef."
Stefan: "Call me if you need anything."
Damon: "I'll take good care of her," he says as Elena grabs Stefan and pulls him into a kiss
Jaylan: "Alright that's enough," she says pulling them apart with a disgusted look on her face "Do that when I'm not standing right here."
Damon: "Okay, time to go." He says getting in the car as Jaylan moves to stand on the curb
Stefan: "Bye." He says closing the door for Elena as the two watch them drive off
Bonnie: "I don't know how to make a day-walking ring." She says to Jaylan and Stefan who are sitting inside the grill
Stefan: "Emily made mine, made Damon's too. Your grandmother made Jaylan's necklace."
Jaylan: "She did?" She asks looking down at her necklace in surprise
Stefan: "Instructions must be in the Grimoire."
Bonnie: "That doesn't mean I can cast a spell."
Stefan: "Bonnie, ahem. You know how to drop vampires with a single look. Okay? I think you can figure it out."
Bonnie: "Caroline killed someone, Stefan."
Jaylan: "So did I," She says making Bonnie look at her shocked "Gonna try to kill me again?"
Bonnie: "I can't make it easier for her to do it." She says choosing to ignore Jaylan's statement
Stefan: "No we're not making it easier for her. We're giving her the chance to survive. Every day she's cut off from her old life, from you, from Elena, from Matt it'll make it harder for her to hold on to her humanity."
Bonnie: "And how do you know she won't hurt anyone else?"
Stefan: "I don't. But if we don't do everything we can or at least trust the fact that she can keep it together we might as well just stake her right now."
Bonnie: "I don't know if I can trust her. Not with this."
Stefan: "Then trust me."
Jaylan: "And I mean if we're gonna look at what lead up to what, Caroline wouldn't have had to kill that guy had it not been for Katherine killing her due to Damon's blood being in her system. Which he wouldn't have needed to give her had Tyler not crashed his car. However the crash was caused due to the Gilbert device that had somebody done what they said they would, it never would have been activated. So I guess we should be pointing the finger at..you" she says looking over at Bonnie making Stefan sigh quietly to himself "So how about you crack open that spellbook of yours." She smiles falsely at her
Caroline: "So I don't get to choose the ring I have to wear the rest of my life?" She asks looking at the ring on her bed
Bonnie: "Hey, if you don't want it-"
Stefan: "No, she wants it."
Caroline: "Now what?"
Bonnie: "Now's the part where I explain the rules. The witch who spells the ring has the power to de-spell it. So if you do anything to hurt anyone-"
Caroline: "I'm not gonna hurt anyone." She says interrupting her
Bonnie: "You're a vampire. That means the urge to kill is a part of who you are. The minute you let it take over, I will stop you."
Caroline: "Bonnie you're supposed to be my friend."
Bonnie: "I can't ignore what happened, okay? You're gonna have to prove that the Caroline I remember isn't gone. Now put the ring on the bed."
Caroline: "Do you really think I meant to kill that guy at the carnival?"
Bonnie: "He's still dead."
Jaylan: "Need I replay the chain of events again?" She asks looking over at Bonnie with an irritated look
Bonnie: "Do you want me to cast the spell or not?" She asks done with everything before doing the spell "All done."
Caroline: "Hmm So that's it? I mean, nothing witchy happened, heh. You know, no flickering lights, no gusts of wind. Have you even done this before?" She asks putting the ring on
Jaylan: "Caroline." She says warningly
Caroline: "Well, I just wanna make sure it worked." She says as Bonnie rips the curtains open making her jump back a little in fear
Bonnie: "It worked."
Caroline: "What if it hadn't, Bonnie?"
Bonnie: "She's all yours." She says looking at Stefan before leaving
Caroline: "So, what do I do when I see the rabbit?" she asks as they walk around the woods
Stefan: "Chase it, catch it, feed on it."
Jaylan: "Try not to be completely disgusted by what you're doing." She throws in
Caroline: "Isn't killing cute, defenseless animals the first step in becoming a serial killer?"
Stefan: "Well you sort of skipped serial killer and went straight to vampire. Hey Caroline if you're not serious about this, you should tell me." He says after seeing the look on her face
Caroline: "No, I am. Look, I swear that I am, okay? But it's just I haven't been in the sun for days. Everyone's at the swimming hole, and Matt is there. He finally told me he loved me, but I've been blowing him off. And now you want me to eat bunnies, and I'm kind of freaking out, okay?" She says as Stefan and Jaylan look at each other before laughing a little "Now you're laughing at me."
Jaylan: "No, I'm not laughing."
Stefan: "None of this is funny, trust me. It's, heh It's just that, uh."
Caroline: "What?"
Stefan: "When someone becomes a vampire all of their natural behaviors get sort of, uh, uh, amplified."
Caroline: "What do you mean?"
Stefan: "I mean, uh, as a human, I cared deeply for people and how they felt. Uh, if they were hurting, I felt their pain. And I felt guilty if I caused it. And, uh, as a vampire, all of that got magnified. Same with Jaylan she was sarcastic and stubborn with motherly instincts. And now all that has amped by 100."
Jaylan: "It hasn't gone up that much."
Stefan: "You literally now never let me go hunting without you."
Jaylan: "I'm sorry, who was the one who got kidnapped and tortured by vampires that were locked in a tomb for years." She says as he keeps quiet after that
Caroline: "So you're saying, that now I'm basically an insecure, neurotic, control freak on crack." She says drawing the conversation back to her
Stefan: "Well, I wasn't gonna say it like that, but hey, listen. Let's hunt, okay?"
Caroline: "Ugh."
Stefan: "And then after that, we'll go to the swimming hole."
Caroline: "Really?" She asks excitedly
Stefan: "Matt is the closest connection to your humanity. And I think that being around him is a good thing."
Caroline: "Okay."
Jaylan: "Come on." She says putting her arm around her shoulder pulling her along with her
Caroline: "Okay. Bunnies."
Jaylan: "Yum." She says playfully
Caroline: "Why are you looking at him with your serious vampire look?" She asks as Mason passes them in his truck
Stefan: "My what? My serious vampire look?"
Caroline: "Mm-hm. It's different from your worried vampire look. Neither stray too far from your "Hey, it's Tuesday" look."
Jaylan: "I know those looks." She says pointing at her in agreement
Stefan: "Oh, I get it. Okay, you think I'm, uh-You think I'm too serious, that it?"
Caroline: "I mean, I wasn't gonna say it like that, but-"
Stefan: "Hmm." He says as they go to walk around
Jaylan: "Hey, I saw that, you compelled her."
Caroline: "Yeah, she deserved it."
Jaylan: "Caroline, nobody deserves to have their mind messed with for shallow reasons. You remembered what Damon did to you."
Caroline: "You know, why is everyone sticking up for Aimee freaking Bradley?"
Jaylan: "You're letting your jealousy get the best of you."
Caroline: "Oh, so now I have magnified jealousy issues too. That's great."
Jaylan: "Told you this wasn't gonna be easy."
Caroline: "Yeah, well, might as well have stayed dead. My entire personality is killing me" She says as Jaylan can't help but crack a smile at her trying not to laugh "Shut up" she says as they go to walk around a bit with drinks in their hands "So what are you gonna do about Damon? You gonna forgive him?"
Jaylan: "I'm already over what he did it's just..."
Caroline: "Just what?"
Jaylan: "There's something between me and him. And it feels good. But.."
Caroline: "Katherine." She guesses from what she learned
Jaylan: "He spent his entire vampire life dedicating everything he did for her. And the minute she rejects him he runs to me. I just don't wanna fall for him and only end up being the rebound."
Caroline: "I know how that feels."
Jaylan: "I don't know what to do about him. Everything is so..complicated."
Caroline: "Tell me about it." She says linking their arms as they go walk around some more
Caroline: "He's mad at me." She says looking at Matt who's standing by his truck
Stefan: "Go talk to him. We'll wait" he says as his phone goes off and Jaylan follows him "Hey."
Elena: "Hi. Listen we've learned some stuff here. And I know it's gonna sound crazy, but I wanted to fill you in."
Stefan: "What's up?" He asks moving the phone between both of them
Elena: "I don't know what it means, or if we should even believe it, but it's a full moon, Stefan. and after what you saw Mason Lockwood do-" She says after telling them what they learned about wolves
Stefan: "I'll be careful."
Elena: "There's one more thing."
Stefan: "What is it?"
Elena: "According to the legend, a werewolf bite can kill a vampire."
Jaylan: "Fun," She says sarcastically before looking over to see Caroline and Matt gone making her slap Stefan's shoulder "Stefan."
Stefan: "Listen, um, I gotta go. I'II, uh, see you when you get home, okay?"
Elena: "Okay." She says as he hangs up
Stefan: "Let's spread out. See if we can find them." He says as she nods and speeds off in a different direction
Jaylan: "Tyler?" She asks walking down the stairs after finding the entrance for it
Tyler: "Hey."
Jaylan: "What is this place? I've never seen it before." She asks looking around in interest
Tyler: "My family's old place used to be over it."
Jaylan: "And you just happen to be spending your alone time here?" She asks skeptically
Tyler: "No I uh- I was with uh- but she uh-" He stutters making her put the pieces together
Jaylan: "Aw did somebody get rejected?" She asks playfully as he pushes her shoulder away from him
Tyler: "Shut up." He says as she looks around and sees chains on the floor
Jaylan: "Family got a kinky side?" She asks holding them up
Tyler: "No. Those were for the uh for the slaves." He says as she nods her head before seeing a bottle of something on the floor making her pick it up and smell it "We should get out of here. We're not really supposed to be in here."
Jaylan: "That used to be our motto ." She says teasingly secretly putting the bottle in her pocket
Tyler: "Yeah and we always got in trouble."
Jaylan: "Which was the fun part."
Tyler: "Come on. Let's go." He says allowing her to go first
Tyler: "Hey. What are you two doing?" He asks when they see Stefan and Caroline
Stefan: "What are you doing here?" He asks but gets cut off as a wolf jumps out and attacks Caroline
Caroline: "Stefan!" She yells trying to get it off making Stefan speed run and knock the wolf off her
Tyler: "No!" He yells at the wolf making it look over at him before speeding off shocking everybody
Caroline: "You're not gonna remember what I did to you. Or what you saw me become."
Matt: "We were just making out in the woods."
Caroline: "And then an animal attacked you. And bit your neck."
Matt: "It's weird, it just came out of nowhere." He says as she walks away from him over to where Jaylan and Stefan are standing
Caroline: "What are we gonna do about Tyler?"
Stefan: "I took care of it. I'll get Matt on vervain. Keep you from being able to compel him. But it'll also keep you from being able to drink his blood."
Caroline: "I can't believe I hurt him."
Stefan: "I know."
Caroline: "He's the one person on this entire planet that I never wanted to hurt."
Jaylan: "It doesn't get any easier, trust me. You're just gonna have to work that much harder."
Caroline: "I shouldn't be with him, should I? Not if there's any danger."
Stefan: "I'm the last person to make that decision for you. If I followed my advice, I would've walked away from Elena a long time ago."
Caroline: "Do you ever think you should have?"
Stefan: "I know I should have. I just can't."
Jaylan: "Hey. Welcome back." She says when Alaric walks through the front door
Alaric: "Thanks."
Jaylan: "How'd it go?"
Alaric: "Lots of information. Gonna need a minute to process it all."
Jaylan: "And the whole Isabel thing?"
Alaric: "It was a closure moment. Actually needed it."
Jaylan: "That's good," She says before seeing the look on his face "Jenna's in the kitchen." She says giving him a look making him laugh a little
Alaric: "Thank you."
Jaylan: "Oh hey before you go do whatever it is the two of you do. Do you have any idea what this is?" She asks opening the bottle she took out of her jacket so he could smell it
Alaric: "I don't think so. Where'd you get it from?"
Jaylan: "It was at the Lockwoods. Thought it might be something important."
Alaric: "Want me to look into it for you?"
Jaylan: "Uh..no don't worry about it. I'll figure it out. Plus you'll be occupied with something else." She motions to the kitchen making him laugh a little
Alaric: "Goodnight." He says as she goes up the stairs
Jaylan: "Try not to have too much fun."
