I wouldn't write about the picnics or dinner dates

I wouldn't write about the gifts or the constant "I love you"

I wouldn't write about how he made me feel or how he spoiled me

If I was going to write about love,

I would write about how imperfectly perfect you are

I would write about how you look at me with adoration in your eyes

I would write about how you smile when I walk in a room and how you turn when you hear my name

If I was going to write about love,

I would write about the joy in your voice when we speak and how you wish for my success

I would write about your embrace and it's power to comfort me

I would write about how you walk on the left side of the sidewalk

I would write about how you protect me and ensure that others respect me

If I was going to write about love,

I would write about your words and how they have the power to uplift me

I would write about how you guide and your heart to provide

I would write about your hope for our future

I would write about how you show your heart not your wallet

I would write about how you make me laugh after I cry

I would write about how put me first above yourself
