i sighed and walked downstairs seeing payton and lydia asleep on the couch. i put a blanket over them and walked into the kitchen. i got a bowl of cereal, even though it was 4 am, i just couldnt sleep. i texted chase and asked if he was up, since it was only 1 in california.
almost immediately afterwards my phone rang.
incoming facetime call from huddy<3...
i answered and set up my phone so i could eat but he could still see me.
"hey baby." i heard him say, it was a dark screen and i sighed.
"chase if youre gonna facetime me, id like to see your face." i heard him get up and then the light was on, his eyes were red and puffy and i frowned. "baby what's wrong?"
"i miss you so much it hurts." he said, i looked down at my cereal and tried not to cry.
"i miss you too, hun." i hated that the only way could see and talk to him was through a phone screen.
"hey jen." i heard paytons tired voice, chase and i both put on a smile at the younger boy. "oh hey chase." paytob said rubbing his eyes.
"bub, why are you up?" i asked payton and he leaned his head on my shoulder.
"i had to pee but i heard you in here." he said.
"i miss you pay." chase said, payton smiled and hugged my waist tiredly.
"miss you too bro, imma go back to bed. love you both." payton said and kissed my forehead before going to get lydia to take her upstairs.
chase and i continued to talk until it was almost 7 am for me.
