Aaron's POV
I sit beside the bed and stare at the girl sleeping in it. She looks so peaceful and lifeless.
"Please wake up, Roni", I whispered.
I was the only one in the room with her. The others were still practicing but I finished already so I decided to go here. It's been 2 days since Roni almost died. I couldn't sleep for the past two nights. All I could think about is her. How I love the way she smiles. How I love the way she snorts at my jokes. How I love the way she smiles genuinely. How I love the way she sings to me just to comfort me when I should be the one comforting her. I sigh and feel a tear going down my cheek. I stared at the lifeless-looking body in front of me.
"Please wake up, Roni. I need you", I said, voice cracking, eyes teary and body shaking.
I hear the door open and I wipe my tears away and look at the person who entered the door.
"Hey", Nessa said as she smiled sadly at me.
I nodded at her and kept looking at Roni.
"Is she still asleep?", she asked and sat at the oposite side if the bed.
"Yeah", I said while holding Roni's hand.
She sighs and looks at me.
"You love her don't you?", Nessa asked me.
I was shocked but in reality, I shouldn't be. It really was obvious. The way I look at her. The way I smile when she replies to my text messages. The way I laugh when she struggles in playing basketball. The way I hold her hand when I help her up.
I smile at the thoughts that run inside my head then another tear falls from my eye. I know she's just in a coma but I can't help but think the 'what ifs'. What if something bad happens and she ends up dying. What if she gets an attack and her coma lasts longer. She's literally in a life and death situation! I can't lose her. I really can't. I'm full on crying right now. Nessa looked at me and frowned.
"Hey, don't cry", she said.
"I-I'm sorry. I'm s-sorry that I coul-dn't protect her. I'm sorry th-at I le-left her alone. I'm very very so-rry that... that I wasn't godd enough f-for her", I'm crying loudly now.
"Hey, it's alri-", Nessa was cut off by the opening of the door.
"Hey br- why are you crying?", Alex said as he ran up to me.
He knelt down and took my hands away from my face. He looked at my face. His eyebrows furrowed and his lips curved to make a frown.
"W-why?", I asked, still crying.
He gave me a mirror and I looked in it. My eyes were red. And I mean red. My lips were swollen. My face was red. My hair was really messy and the collar of my shirt was a little wet.
"Aaron, you look horrible", Nessa said.
"No sh*t sherlock", I said.
"Don't curse, Burriss", Paul said.
"Sorry, sir", I said and looked down.
"What's wrong, Aaron? You never curse", Alex asked.
I sighed and looked at Roni. Another tear falls on my face as I hold her hand and carress it.
"Oh...", Alex said.
He sat beside me and pat my back.
"She's gonna be okay, Aaron", Nessa said.
"How do you know that?", I asked, my eyes glued to Roni.
"Aaron, I'm her twin! Of course I know that", she said.
"I can feel it, Aaron", Nessa said.
"How?", I asked.
"I just do. Aaron, sToP aSkInG qUeStIoNs!", Nessa said and everyone in the room started laughing except for Roni and me.
I just smiled and looked at Roni again. I sighed.
"I don't know how many times I've seen you sigh like that", Athena said.
"GAH!", Nessa said as she holds her chest.
"TINA WHAT THE HELL!?", Alex said.
Athena shrugged and looked at me.
"How did you- When did- What?", I asked.
"I'm trying to be mysterious, stupid. Now, get up and go shower. She ain't going anywhere even if anyone who isn't her friend tries to touch her", Athena said.
"How?", I asked.
"I put a forcefield on her, dammit! Why are people so slow in this dimension?", she whispered that last part.
"What was that?", Alex asked.
"I'm not gonna say 'nothing' because obviously that was something so I'm just gonna say that I won't answer your queation", Athena said.
"You really could've just said 'nothing'", Nessa said.
"I know but y'all wouldn't believe me so why even try?", Athena said as she shrugged. (I'm really not like this in real life but meh. XD- Athena)
"Because--", Nessa was cut off.
"--In trying, you have a slight chance of doing something right and you shouldn't waste your chances", Athena said.
"Ho--", Nessa was cut off again.
"I don't know. I think I have the mind stone now. I'm starting to have visions that contain the future", Athena explained.
"Oh really? Can you see my future?", Alex asked.
"Sure", Athena said and closed her eyes.
"I can see sadness in your future", Athena said. (Laurex fans, where you at? :'( - Athena)
"Really? What kind?", Alex asked.
"I don't want you to cry too so I won't answer that question", Athena said.
There was a short silence.
"Can you see my future?", I asked.
"Sure", Athena said and closed her eyes again.
"I see a lot of happiness in your future", she smiled and opened her eyes.
"Can you see who's in my future?", I asked.
"Hmm okayyyyyy", she said while smirking at me.
"I can see a part of your future where Roni and you are sitting on a cliffamd Nessa and Alex were behind a bush wearing disguises. I think they were spying at you", Athena said and we laugh.
"And then, your face lit up. You stood up and picked Roni up. You started jumping up and down with Roni in your arms. You put her down and then you...", Athena trailed off.
"And then what?", Alex and Nessa asked.
"Ohh, nothing", Athena smirked at me.
"Ohhh, my brother is blushing", Alex said.
"No, I'm not!", I said as I covered my face.
"Ooohhhh", they said and kept teasing me.
"Guys, stop it", I said..
"Besides, she doesn't even think of me like that", I said sadly.
"You're right. She doesn't think of you like that", Athena said which made me frown even more.
"What?!", Alex and Nessa said.
"Don't worry, Roni! He'll know soon anyway", Athena said while looking at nothing.
She realized what she said and covered her mouth.
"Uhmmmm... Oops?", Athena said.
"Were you--", Alex was cut off.
"Yep, I was talking to Roni", Athena said.
"So that means--", Nessa was cut off.
"Mhmm. She heard everything", Athena said and laughed.
"Oh my gosh, this is so embarrassing", I said as I covered my face in my hands.
"You have nothing to be embarrassed about, Aaron Burriss", Athena said when she stopped laughing.
She never called me by my full name so I looked at her.
"Huh?", I asked.
"Because Veronica Jo Merrell loves you too", Athena said.
