Her name

'It had been three days after the vehicular accident that involves the famous boy group, Bangtan Sonyeondan's Park Jimin and the group's manager took event. In the current investigation released by the Police Investigation Unit, it was said that the night the accident happened, sasaengs were seen closely following behind the member's vehicle, which unfortunately caused the tragic event. The casualty created is greater than expected.'

The room was solemn, it was silent and all eyes were glued at the television.

'Generally, eight civilians were hospitalized for minor injuries including Bangtan Sonyeondan's manager. Fans around the world showed mixed reactions over the accident. Many worries about the boy group's safety and majority of them prays for Park Jimin's vast recovery. No statement is released by BigHit at the moment.'

Kim Namjoon, the group's leader, quickly reached over the remote at the side table and turned off the television. It's pressuring to think of it. Almost all of the Korean media outlet feasts for the news and it's been days that they were all feed up about the accident. They can't even see the light of the day.

Temporarily, all of the group's activities were postponed due to the accident. Their schedule for the week is full-packed—they should be attending The Fact Music Award, a press conference and fan signing event prior to their comeback, but it was all cancelled because the members prefer to support their member. It's no use going to awards and facing massive crowds of media when one of them is in a tragic state. It isn't Bangtan Sonyeondan anymore.

It was devastating to look at it. Jungkook, Hoseok and Seokjin were stressed. Outside the patient's room were an open waiting area, spacious to start with, where a television is displayed in front to kill boredom. They look worried—horrendously worried for Jimin.

Jin were non-stop walking back and forth with both of his arms at his waist and with his head bored down. Jungkook were seated at the chair, his hands are tightly intertwined together, praying to the stars for a miracle. Hoseok, on the other hand, were blankly staring in the wilderness.

Namjoon silently heaved a deep breath. Watching his members like this is hurtful to begin with. It drains his energy... it stabs a knife at his back. He breathed again before going inside Jimin's room. Luckily, the hospital has had strict watch over media outlets and respected the company's decision of privacy.

As he entered, he was again welcomed by an unconscious Jimin. He was in a deep slumber and wasn't awakened for three days. A bandage was wrapped around his head. A nasal canula was connected to supply oxygen and an IV to supply additional nutrients to his body. His eyelids didn't move or even his fingers. He was cocooned around the hospital sheets.

"Jeongyeon."

Namjoon called softly to see a woman sleeping at the side of the bed where Jimin lays, with her head bored down.

Jeongyeon woke up, evidently looking tired and worn out but she still looks presentable enough.

"I think it's time for you to rest." Namjoon said and neared. "We can handle it. We got the members here with Chim."

The leader smiled. His dimples were seen. But his eyes never lie.

Jeongyeon slowly nodded her head, rather in acceptance, she was hesitantly declining his offer.

"A-aniyo." Her voice sounded light. "It's okay, Namjoon. I can stay a little bit more."

Namjoon can see that she really worries for him. She never left his side ever since day one and it's traumatic for her, Namjoon knows. It was traumatic for all of them. Namjoon was happy for them, especially for Jimin that he found what he was looking for—that he found someone worthy of his existence. Namjoon knows how Jimin loves Jeongyeon. It started in a simple awe between groups, Jimin idolizes her ever since before they debuted because of the connection between JYP and Bighit, then it grew to simple meetings during music shows, simple conversations at the backstage and it grew even more... they grew to love.

It went on for a year and they finally announced that they really are dating for almost three weeks from now. But sadly, the accident happened and broke millions of fan's hearts from both fandoms, Twice and BTS.

"Ne. Namjoon is right, Jeongyeon. You have to rest." Taehyung answered solemnly, who is sitting at the corner with Yoongi who is currently sleeping.

"I can take it from here." Taehyung stands up and released a small smile.

With no other options, Jeongyeon silently strayed away from the chair and let Taehyung took over, the man patted her shoulder and smiled before sitting.

"Take care, Namjoon." Finally said Jeongyeon and faced the man. "I hope you are doing fine."

"I hope you are too."

The leader smiled genuinely but with a tint of sadness. They all can feel each other's sympathy. Sadness. Pain. Agony. It was hard to accept the reality, especially for Jeongyeon. She knows it was difficult to begin with. She has so many plans in her head. This few days, it's been hectic for them both. They hadn't had enough time to see each other personally that's why they send their hi's and hello's through online messages. Jeongyeon had so much in her head. She said to herself, she would catch up to him. Try to give him surprises to cope up with their full-packed schedules. But look where it led them.

Jeongyeon's smile faded as she exited Jimin's room.

It suddenly came through her. Once she closed the door, an unpredictable feeling washed through her and encased her whole body. It was quick and vast. And all those tears she tried to control, those emotions she tried to sway away hunted her.

Tears fell from her eyes. It was warm on her cheeks.

"Jeongyeon!" called Jihyo, Twice's leader, who just arrived with Nayeon for a visit.

Instead of answering their calls, Jeongyeon made a sharp turn and headed the opposite direction. She wasn't trying to be the center of the attention; she had just been overwhelmed of those clamping emotions. And it came to a part that she can't control any of those anymore.

Jeongyeon's vision blurred as tears further fell down uncontrollably. She's looking for a restroom or anywhere she could compose herself back again. Despite of it, Jihyo and Nayeon run up and followed her.

"Jeongyeon!" Nayeon called louder, obviously panicking of her friend's action.

Jeongyeon made a right turn once she saw the sign for restrooms. She went inside unhesitant of what the other two could say. She almost collapses near the sink with her wobbling legs but she got a great grip from the rails provided.

"Are you okay?" It was Jihyo's voice.

"We were worried sick for you and maybe... maybe you needed someone to talk to."

Jeongyeon sniffed and wiped her cheeks using the palm of her hand while looking at the mirror.

"P-please, not now,Jihyo." tears continued to fall.

"Jebal." She repeated. Her voice barely a whisper. "I need time for myself."

There was a long pause.

"Arasso." Jihyo answered back softly.

"Jeongyeon, we are here when you need us."

Jeongyeon heard their footsteps façade away and she was now left alone. Her fingers were trembling so bad she can't even get a grip on the faucet. Her lips were shaking as she tastes the salt in her tears. Oh god, how she hated herself being so vulnerable. Ever since she got the news of the accident, she didn't cry because she knows it wasn't the right time. Jimin needed the brave her, the strong Jeongyeon. She kept it to herself too well that she was loudly sobbing now. She can't lose him. She can't. She won't. And she has to be strong for him.

For Jimin.

After minutes of contemplation, Jeongyeon bid enough time to contemplate herself. She looked herself at the mirror for the last time before leaving the restroom. As she neared the location, her heart drooped down. She instantly felt fear in her system, an uncomfortable feeling that claws in her mind once she saw them all outside Jimin's room.

Namjoon was constantly talking and the other looked sad, devastated even.

Jeongyeon silently approached them and once they'd sense her presence, their attention was diverted at her.

"Is there something I needed to know?"

"Jeongyeon." Namjoon called lowly, even he looks stressed out.

He neared and faced her, gazing directly at her eyes.

"The doctor came a few minutes ago." He said and examined her reaction. "He had explained a lot of information about Jimin's condition."

"W-what about it?" out of breath, Jeongyeon tried her best to listen.

"He was involved in a vehicular accident and he was the one who received major injuries, especially in the head."

The woman nodded, trying to absorb all words from him.

"Jimin underwent for CT scan a couple of times this past few days to check his neurovascular functioning, fortunately, the doctor said that he's neurovascular vital signs are stable and he have high possibility of waking up anytime soon."

Hearing from Namjoon, there's a tint of hope for Jeongyeon.

"But there's something you need to know."

Jeongyeon only watched him in silence. She knew there was a downside of it. Her eyes trembled in anticipation, in fear, in horror of what it might be. But she listened.

"Due to the gravity of the accident, his head were the first one to receive the impact. It was severely damaged and injured. Jeongyeon, the most critical part of the body is the brain." Namjoon paused, his voice began to stutter in between sentences.

"According to wh-what the doctor said, some parts of the brain were affected." He paused again and swallowed. "Parts of the brain that is responsible for the body's balance, thinking... memory."

Jeongyeon can feel the heat underneath her eyes. She knew where they are heading at. She doesn't know but she doesn't want or assume or to conclude. No.

"Luckily, the doctor said, there are no physical constraints to Jimin's body. His balance is not affected, even his thinking. There are no problems found in his speech also." There's a stretch of silence. "But—but he may forget somethings. Once he awakens, there maybe some majority of events he can't recall or reminisce. Or maybe, he can't even remember anything at all."

Namjoon watched her and look into her eyes, deeply, because this is also what he fears. His voice stuttered and yes, Namjoon is in the verge of crying but he can't. He has to be brave for his members. For Jimin. It was difficult to take in. He knows. But he can't be weak. Not now.

"Jeongyeon," he said, his voice almost in a whisper.

"Jimin is in a state of amnesia."

*'''*

Anterograde Amnesia. A state in which the person loss the ability to access events that occurred before the injury. In simpler terms, it is the inability to recall past memories. It can either last 1 to 2 years, depending in the extensive damage caused by the accident. Or maybe, it can last 15 to 25 years.

Or it can be permanent.

It was the doctor's given diagnosis to Jimin's condition. Amnesia. Of all illnesses, his memories are the ones affected. Jeongyeon hadn't been able to think at all. She was preoccupied by the fact that there is a possibility of Jimin forgetting everything. It's a lot to take in. She knows. It grips her heart thoroughly.

Jeongyeon can't just lose him.

After another three days of knowing the doctor's diagnosis, Jimin finally woke up today. This evening. She hadn't talked with him—of course, she was joyed that he finally awakened, thanked the stars for everything. But she was terrified, of the looks in his eyes, blank and emotionless. Of the words that may come out from his mouth, maybe she can't hear her name being called by him again?

It's killing her slowly.

Jeongyeon nervously gazed back and forth at the door of his room. All of the members were inside and she can't imagine what would their faces would look like once they open the door. Will they be devastated? Hurt? Anything can happen. It's almost an hour once the boys went inside. She was left alone with Jihyo by her side.

"How's—" Jeongyeon paused and swallowed, she definitely looks nervous.

"How are the members? I hope they're doing fine." She said.

Jihyo smiled slowly and looked at her, watching her side profile.

"We're fine. The girls are doing great." The leader hummed. "Nayeon and Sana misses you."

Jeongyeon chuckled, her voice sounded sweet. It's the least Jihyo could do today, make her laugh and feel accompanied. From the leader's perspective, Jeongyeon spends her time visiting Jimin for the past week. It feels indifferent because they are used to being together from the start of day to the end of the night, but now, there are times Jihyo would look for Jeongyeon and she isn't there anymore. She knows it affected Jeongyeon a lot.

That Jeongyeon really loves Jimin with all her heart.

"Aigoo~ Those girls." Jeongyeon smiled and laughed shortly.

"I hope everything will go back to where it was." She continued and stopped for a while, thinking. "I—I have to see Jimin for the last time before focusing on work again. This night, I hope I can talk with him. Just for a short time."

There's sadness in her eyes and agony in her voice. She has no assurance of what will happen but she wishes for a miracle. A miracle that will bring back everything that had happened. But it's impossible. Too impossible.

Unexpectedly, the door opened, showing Jung Hoseok followed by the others. They looked down and silent. All of them eyed at Jeongyeon's direction.

Jungkook advanced a couple of steps and forced a smile. He stared at her for a short time.

"We think it's best for you to see him."

Jeongyeon stayed wordless.

"Come on, Jeongyeon." Jihyo's voice lingered her ears.

Once and for all, Jeongyeon nodded slowly and travelled to the door. She can feel her heartbeat fast. Her fingers trembled as she opens the handle of the door. She breathed deeply and finally let herself inside.

The first thing that welcomes her is Jimin, positioned in a sitting position with the blankets covering his lower limbs. The bandage that surrounds his head were removed and was replaced by a gauze that covers the specific part of the wound. A nasal canula still provides oxygen to his body.

Jimin gazed slowly at the figure in front, who's unknowingly staring at him for seconds now. Jimin stayed still in the bed, they made eye contact and all he could do is to... look back at her. He closed his eyes and opened them again.

"Another visitor." He said, rather than giving reaction, even just a small smile, his lips did not move.

Jeongyeon softly nodded.

"Yes."

Jeongyeon moved beside. Cautiously dragging the chair near her and sat down. She was exactly facing Jimin, at his side. She only watched him under her vision. It was the same Jimin she knew—his noble nose, his sharp jaw, his perfectly shaped lips. Everything. Jeongyeon only gazed at his features. Oh, how she missed this.

The woman breathed deeply. There are millions of words that lingers in her lips waiting to be said and heard. What if...what if? Jeongyeon dragged the idea away and let the silence seeped between them. She's greatly terrified of what will happen. She doesn't want to lose the man she truly loves. She wanted the old him... the old Jimin back. If only she could, she will send her prayers to the gods.

"Do—" she paused. "Do you remember who you are?"

It was the first thing that escaped her lips. Jeongyeon glued her gaze to his, never letting go.

"No." Jimin simply stated.

"Even your name?"

Jimin finally gave back the stare at her. He wordlessly looked at her to the core of her eyes. He watched over her innocent face and calm expression but he knows she was dying inside, terrified, scared, broken.

"No." he paused midsentence.

Jimin closed his eyes and shot them open again.

It was clear. Once he had awakened, it was the first thing that came into his mind, the first thing he reminisced... the first thing he remembered. It was clear as a crystal. It's tragic how he ended up not knowing himself, his name, his members or any of the people closest to his heart. Still, there's one specific thing that never left him at peace. The time he opened his eyes until now.

"But for some reason,"

Jimin continued, directly gazing to the woman in front of him.

"I remember yours."

Jeongyeon. That's her name.

Yoo Jeongyeon.
