After another glass of wine, my face had flushed the color of the sweet Rosè. Neither of us were drunk but we held each other's waist like the other was about to topple over. We made our way out to the cabs, by this point laughing at the smallest things.

My eyes were set only on his smile. His soft dimples and perfectly aligned teeth distracted me from the beauty of the city lights around the grande house we were in. It distracted me from the accumulating snowfall that stuck to Grayson's hair and the tips of his eyelashes.

The laughing didn't stop when we reached the hotel, but I knew I had to keep my distance from him. He went in before me, giving me a small wave, and got the ice cream. Then I entered the building, buying a bottle of their fanciest bottle of wine, putting it to 'my tab' knowing damn well Joey would be paying for it all.

Rounding the corner to the hallway, I see that he stayed outside of his room waiting for me, back rested against the door, a hip cocked. I show the bottle off to him as I near and he smiles down at me with a small giggle. A swipe of his keycard and we enter the room. Identical to mine, I already know my way around. I slip off my heels and jacket and sit down on the bed.

Biting my lip, I unwrap the seal on the wine bottle and twist off the cap, can't be too fancy if it's a twist off. "Here," Grayson tosses me a t-shirt. "You could stay in the dress if you'd like, but the t-shirt will be much more comfortable." He shrugs and slips his sweater off over his head, ducking into the bathroom. His tanned and defined torso sends a chill down my spine.

"Jesus Christ," I mumble under my breath so that he won't hear me. I set the wine down on the night stand and begin to slip off my dress and tight bra. "Stay in there for a moment would you?" I laugh.

"Sure," He replies. I move quickly and slip the t-shirt over my bare figure.

"You're good," I shout and jump back on the bed, crossing my legs.

"I got you Half Baked, hope you like it." Grayson's wraps his hand around the lid and he tosses it my way, a spoon following its path through the air not long after. I pry the lid from the top and place it on the night stand. Grayson does the same and flattens himself on the bed, beside me. I stretch out parallel to him, my knee just brushing against his thigh.

I dig my spoon in then let it melt in my mouth, a small moan escapes my throat. "Damn this is good," I say, Grayson nods in agreement. His spoon flipped over in his mouth.

"I missed this," Grayson admits. I stick my spoon back into my ice cream, but my hand falls and remains wrapped around the cold container.

My slightly drunken mind is filled with only one thought. The saying is, If you love something– let it go and if it doesn't return let it be because it isn't meant to be in your life. But Grayson came back, the moment of confusion that we had seemed to be a mere blimp, a speed bump on a long winding road. Something to be looked over.

I loved him. I let him go. But here he is, back by my side. These few moments we have shared have been monumental because I know now that no matter how fucked up our relationship gets, we will always love one another. We need one another.

"I missed this too," I let my head fall to the side so that I can see his face. He does the same and takes a deep breath, letting his eyes scan my face. The longer I gaze, the harder it gets to hold myself together. All of the thought that fill my mind when I see his face, they make me so happy, but so sad at the same time because I know how much I had hurt him.

"But it all changes tomorrow," Ha reminds me, facing the ceiling. His spoon finds its way back into his mouth.

"Yeah," I look up as well.

"We're not playing around anymore," He says. "We're finally doing what we were warned of." His chest rises and falls with a great sigh.

I take another big spoonful of ice cream then cap it and set it on the night stand. After finishing my spoonful, I grab my glass, taking a sip to calm my nerves.

"Let me have a sip," Grayson suggests. I look to him over to him to find the same mischievous smirk that I had fallen in love with all of those months ago. I hand it to him, watching as he finishes the glass. He hands it back to me to set on the night stand.

I do so, then snuggle up next to him. My head on his shoulder, my leg fitting perfectly between his, my fingers drawing slow circles on his bare chest. He raises his arm and wraps it around me. "You're comfy," I think out loud unintentionally, closing my eyes. Grayson's chest vibrates with a laugh. I tilt my chin upward to see his smile. He looks down to me, his smile only growing.

"Am I now?" He teases. I nod, my eyes flicking down to his lips for a moment. His smile holds on his face as his hands raises to my jaw. He leans his head down to my level and he presses his lips to mine. The sensation that fills my body reminds me of the first time we had ever kissed. The euphoria, the excitement, the love, it's all magnified. I push my hands down on his chest and shift my leg to his other side. His hands navigate down to my waist, slowly sinking to my hips.

In one moment I'm the happiest woman alive, the next, we hear a knock at the door. I nearly gasp but Grayson puts a gentle hand over my mouth. "Dolan open up! I need to talk to you!" Dani's familiar voice calls. With Grayson's hand still over my mouth, I look down at him with wide eyes. I grab his wrist and remove his palm from my lips.

"Fuck!" I mumble, crawling off of him and ducking behind the bed.

"One minute man!" Grayson calls, looking down at me with wide eyes. I nearly start laughing and the smile that lightens his face shortly after does nothing to help to situation. I reach up and push his head down.

"Go!" I whisper, straining to hold in a laugh. I hear his feet against the floor and push myself under the bed.

I close my eyes and listen. The door opens and Dani clears his throat. "Hey man," He starts. "um," The tone of his voice is tense and my heart starts to beat faster. "Can we talk?" He asks.

"Yeah," The door opens further and Grayson's feet shift. "Come on in." I have to control my breathing as my anxiety continues to build.

"I need to talk to you about Arianna," Joey takes a seat in the chair in front of the desk and Grayson sits at the foot of the bed.

"What about her?" Grayson let's out a sigh and I ball my fists, not sure what Dani is going to say next.

"Well, um, she," He clears his throat again and I narrow my eyes with my lids still shut. I suck in a tense breath through my nose and hold it. "She made some deals with me." I push my head up against the bottom of the bed and shake my head. Grayson was never supposed to know about the deal we made.

"Oh yeah?" Grayson questions. "What king of deal?"

"I'm the medic for the mission, I'm the person that will rush in to get you out of a shit storm and Ari knows this," I bite down on my lip, fighting the urge to stop him. "After learning this Ari made her promise something," My hands start to shake so I clench them tighter. "She made me promise that if it came between saving you or her I would choose you." I hear Grayson harshly exhale and wish I could jump out and punch Dani in the face. "But," My eyes shoot open. "I can't do that. This is not a threat on you and I do not mean any disrespect. Not only do I simply care for her, but I received orders Joey that she is the one I save before anyone. I wanted to let you know that she had said something and let you know that she still cares about you." I hear footsteps heading for the door and before I know it, it's only Grayson and I in the room again.

Hesitantly, I crawl out from under the bed and my eyes stare into his slouched back. His jaw turning to be parallel with his shoulder, he eyes sink to the ground. Even when I look at his expression, I am unable to read what he is feeling.

"I would say you don't have to do that," He starts, a sigh leaves his lips and he gazes down at his hands. "But it seems that you can't." A ghost of a laugh is pushed through his nose.

"Grayson I-" I begin, wanting to explain.

"No," He stands up, facing me half a smile. "I don't want to fight or have any tension between us because of this. I know why you did it and we both know it's something that I would do too if given the chance." He shrugs, the corner of his mouth still raised.

I smile back at him, silenced by his words. A step takes me closer to him, then another and my arms open. His do the same and I walk into them, my arms locking behind his back. His soft skin acts as a pillow for my cheek to rest on.

"This can work," I tell him, I look up at him. "We can make this work if we keep improving like this." I smile fully and returns the expression. I press up onto my tip toes and connect our smiles. His hands raise from my back to the sides of my face. Comfortingly, he holds me in a gentle grasp, his lips moving perfectly against mine.

With a growing smile, he bends down to gentle grasp the backs of my thighs, lifting my legs to wrap around him. I pull back for a moment to smile down at him and wrap my arms around his neck. The energy that radiates from us is pure and makes me uncontrollably smile and giggle to myself.

"Yeah," He nods, furrowing his brow, but keeping his smirk. "We could make this work." He confirms, making me pull him closer.

Still holding my steadily, he lowers our figures to the bed. "I will always love you, Kitten." He tells me.
