"You are coming to the Garrison." Your friend Hannah raised an eyebrow. "Right?"
"Yes" You laughed.
"Well hurry up!" She shouted as she walked out of the room and down the stairs.
"I am coming!" You shouted back, walking down the stairs and walking with her out the door.
"I cannot wait to see all the men." Hannah winked and you rolled your eyes with a laugh coming out your mouth.
"Hannah!" You scolded her.
"What?" She raised an eyebrow. "There is nothing wrong with a little flirt and a free drink."
"Not at all." You rolled your eyes and the two of you entered the Garrison; immediately catching the attention of a lot of men in the bar.
"I wonder if the infamous John Shelby will be here tonight?" She questioned and we got to the bar. "A vodka with soda please."
"If he is, then we will just ignore him." You glared at her; not wanting to talk to that flirt, even if you found his attractive. "A double whiskey please."
"Double?" She raised an eyebrow.
"I can tell it is going to be a long night." You sighed, getting your drink and almost downing it in one hit.
'Let's go sit down." She pulled your arm and sat down in the middle of the pub.
You both start chatting about random stuff, enjoying your time as friends.
"I don't care. I love him. I really do." You shrugged and Hannah laughed at you. "And, given the opportunity..." You continued and sipped on your drink. "Yes, I would have his babies.
"Seriously? Douglas Fairbanks?" Hannah nearly choked on her drink, while you sat there nodding your head and fantasying over him. Your celebrity crush! "You would do Douglas Fairbanks."
"Oh, my God, yes." You gasped.
"Ew. Friend to friend, ew." She shook her head. "I don't know. Your life is so boring and plain."
"My life is not plain and boring." You defended yourself.
"Oh, it so is." She laughed and you choked on your drink, laughing so much.
'No, it's not!"
"Yes, it is." She said. "You've never left Small Heath. You pass the bar, you're gonna be what, a lawyer? Plus you will probably end up married to a human Valium-"
"A what?" You interrupted with a frown.
"Listen, I worry about you, is all." She breathed out. "So much potential and you've resorted to fantasising about Douglas Fairbanks."
"He's funny." You defended it again.
"He looks like a potato, honey." She giggled.
"Hi." You heard a male voice say; turning your head to see the infamous John Shelby. "Who looks like a potato?"
"Douglas Fairbanks." Hannah said to him, making you roll your eyes. "My friend Y/N here thinks he's sexy."
"That's weird, I think that your friend Y/N is sexy." John looked to you and winked; making you blush slightly, but nevertheless roll your eyes.
"Oh, my God. You did not just say that." You laughed, amused by his egotistical ways. "How old are you?"
"What are you, a lawyer?" He laughs.
"Yeah. A little bit." You shrugged and drank your drink; looking to Hannah.
"Come on." He gasped, not believing he was right.
"I know." Hannah raised an eyebrow at you.
"You are? Is she?" He looked to Hannah.
"Gonna be." You shrugged. "Don't you think you're a little old to use cheesy pickup lines?"
"Objection. Leading the witness." He laughed and you rolled your eyes, while Hannah laughed.
"You're wearing that like you're doing it a favour." He pointed to your dress.
"Oh, God. " You shook your head.
"That's a line." He smirked. "Me sitting there for the past two hours not being able to take my eyes off you is fact. I mean, there's lots of beautiful women in this bar. Your friend included. Hi-"
"I love you." She breathed out, staring into space at him and you shook your head in frustration.
"But I can't take my eyes off of you." He smiled. "That's a fact, it's not a line. I find you very attractive. Do you find me attractive?"
"She does." Hannah nodded her head.
"I don't." You shook your head again.
"Tsk. You do." Hannah looked to you and then up to John. "She does."
"Yes, she does." John agreed and you started to get agitated, the more she spoke.
"I don't."
"You do."
"You do."
"I don't."
"Y/N, can I buy you a drink?" John smirked.
"No." You snapped.
"You say no a lot, don't you?" He smirked more.
"No." You looked up to him, smirking slightly.
"Oh, boy. Permission to approach the bench?" He asked, bringing a chair to sit with you guys.
"Seriously?" You questioned as he moved close to you.
"Just, come on, let me deliver my closing argument." He begged slightly, making you roll your eyes, but you allowed him to continue.
"Sure. Proceed."
"Y/N, we live in a physical world, right?" He raised and eyebrow and you nodded your head. "And you're going to age, right?"
"Mm-hm."
"You're never gonna regret going home with that guy from the bar that one time that was a total tomcat in the sack. But I can't guarantee that you won't not regret it."
"That was a double negative. " You frowned.
"Okay." He smirks. "Y/N, can I buy you a drink?"
"Okay. You know what?" You began and chucked your drink back in one. "It's time to go home."
"Really?" He looked sadly at you.
"Mm-hm." You nodded your head and stood up. "Hannah, are you coming?"
"Coming" She mumbled sadly, looking to you and then John. "She loved it really."
"Hannah come on!" You shouted for the entrance; taking one last look at John Shelby.
You smiled, tucking the hair behind your ear and walked out with a massive grin on your face - which made you blush profusely - why did he care so much about you?
"What was that about?" Hannah gasped as she came out.
"What?" You frowned, walking forward so she wouldn't see your face as much.
"You were so rude to him or you were trying to flirt?" She breathed out a laugh.
"Can we drop it?" You breathed out, shaking your head and the two of you walked back home.
***
"You just need to be more adventurous." Jack said, a friend of Hannah's - who had been trying to flirt with you the whole night, but he was now being rude.
"What does that mean?" You frowned, looking at him.
"It means you are frigid." He began and laughed slightly; making you feel embarrassed. "You don't like to have a little fun."
"That is not-" You began to say but he cut you off.
"Thats why people call you frigid Y/N" He laughed and you stood up; throwing your drink at him.
"Fuck you." You snapped, flipping him off and walking out of the bar. It was raining, but you did not care.
The rain fell down your cheeks and you became soaked from it. Thinking of John, you tried to get him out of your head and the words of Jack, that he said a moment ago. John came into your head again and in the spur of the moment, you decided to go to Garrison and prove to Jack you were not frigid.
Walking into the Garrison, you saw John at the bar side, ordering a drink.
"You!" You made him aware of your presence and you looked to him intently - he turned around and faced you, a smirk/smile on his face.
"You remember me?" You breathed out, putting your hands on his chest.
"Yeah." He stuttered, completely bewildered - totally starstruck.
"You still find me attractive?" You asked.
"Yes." He smiled; looking you up and down.
"Still wanna take me home?" You looked down at his lips.
"Yeah."
"Let's go." You leaned in and pressed your lips on his, before pulling quickly away and leading him out the bar.
