I laid in Nahla's bed watching her sleeping peacefully.
After being up all night crying she finally fell asleep. It hurt me seeing my best friend like this. My heart ached for her.
Yesterday was the day they finally laid Trey to rest. The funeral wasn't anything but easy for her. If it wasn't for Mir, Vontae and her brothers she would've jumped into that hole with him.
I couldn't imagine the pain she was in. Just 5 years ago she lost both her parents whose death she still wasn't 100 percent over and now she loses her brother.
That has to be the worst pain ever and I don't wish that on nobody not even my worst enemy so for it to be happening to my best friend. Someone who I loved deeply hurt me to the core.
"She sleep?" Mir asked walking into her room
"Yeah finally. She barely fell asleep about 15 minutes ago" I told him as he took a seat on the bed
"I can't stand seeing her this way bro. I just want it to stop" He shook his head
I knew he was trying to stop tears from falling as well
I didn't know Trey as long as he did so I didn't really have a good bond with him but it still hurt because he was cool people and the two people I was close with were hurting behind this so it was taking a toll on me too.
"I know Mir I know" I hugged him
"What's going on?" Lala asked as she woke up "Mir?" She asked getting up "You okay?" She came over to him taking him into a hug as well
"Yeah I'm good. I just wanted to make sure you were good before I took off for school" He hugged her back
"Yeah I'm good you guys can go to school now I'll be fine" She half smiled at us
"You sure?"I asked her
I was iffy leaving her alone especially because nobody was home to keep an eye on her
"Yeah I'm good. I'll probably just lay in bed all day anyways" she shrugged
"Ight but if you need us text us" Mir told her and she nodded "Get ready I'll wait for you" He turned to me
"Okay"
I grabbed my things walking into the bathroom so I could quickly change.
I walked out the bathroom heading to her room seeing her and Mir laughing which caused a smile to creep on me cause for the first time in days I heard her laugh.
"I'm ready. I'll be back her after school" I told her while I grabbed my bag making sure everything was in there
"You don't need to P. I know you miss your own bed" She told me but I wasn't tryna hear it
"I already told you I was staying here yesterday and today so don't even try and change my mind" I waved her off causing her to laugh
"Hurry yo ass up Monkey face" Mir told me
I turned back looking at him
"Shut up chipmunk looking ass up before I drag you out this bitch by yo mini dreads"
He sucked his teeth getting up off the bed
"Man I'll catch you later Lala" He hugged her kissing her forehead before walking out
"Yeah we'll see you later" I gave her a hug walking out her room and down the hall
We walked out the apartment heading down the hallway
"You think she'll be good by herself for real?" Mir asked opening the door for me
I walked out first with him right behind me
"I honestly don't know. I never seen her in this state so if anybody should know it's you"I told him
I met Nahla when we were 12 which was 2 years after her parents had passed away so I never saw her in this state.
"I mean she's not that bad because when her parents died it was bad. I mean horrible. There were plenty of times I thought I was going to lose her because she became suicidal. I was scared to leave her alone for a second" He shook his I'm guessing trying to make the memory go away
"I mean I would've too if I lose both my parents the same night" I said as we walked up the stairs of the school
"Yeah I would too but I just don't want to go down that road no more" He said
"I hope we don't"
"Hey ya'll how's Lala?" Blast asked coming up to us with the rest of the guys
"She's holding up" Mir told them
"I'll see ya'll later" I told them walking away heading to my locker
"Aye" I heard someone yell behind me
I turned around seeing Blast coming after me
"Yeah?"
"You still mad at me?" He asked me which caused me to roll my eyes "I'll take that as a yes" He laughed but I ain't find shit funny
"You done?"
"Man I told you I was busy G. I'm dead ass I ain't mean to stand you up I promise. Ima make it up to you" He pulled me in for a hug but I turn my head away
Blast and I were trying to see if a relationship could work between us since we were both so different but it was honestly hard. Especially because he didn't take shit serious.
"You hear me?"
"Yeah I hear you"

I paced back and forth in my room trying my hardest to keep myself from crying.
At this point I was tired. Tired of everything. I was tired of crying and hurting. I was tired of living.
"LadyBug?" Montez said as he knocked on the door as he walked in
"Hey. I thought you left" I stopped walking looking in his direction
"I did but I came to check on you. How you feeling?" He took a seat on my bed signaling for me to take a seat next to him
"Honestly I'm just tired. Tired of everything. I can't sleep because every time I close my eyes I see mom and dad laying there lifeless just how Trey looked"
"I wish you didn't have to see any of that. I know how much seeing people dead right in front of you fucks up your mental and it's even worst when it's someone you love. I know this can't be easy for you because all it's doing is bringing bad memories back of the night mom and dad died but you can't let them win Lady bug" He pulled me to him so now I was laying my head on his shoulder
When my parents died in the car accident I was with them. We were coming back home from getting food for the family when a drunk driver ran us off the road making us land in a ditch. Thankfully I was able to walk away with minor injuries but unfortunately my parents didn't make it. They died right away from the impacts of the hits.
That night will forever remain in my head. Seeing them there laying in the pool of their blood crying for them to wake up but they had already left me.
Seeing Trey that night made me relive that night all over again. The pain that sucks the life out of you.
Everyday I asked god why he didn't take me. Why he kept me here but took my parents away from me.
"I just wish I could've done something Tez. Maybe if I came home a little earlier he would still be here or if I didn't go out with Mir and them I could've saved him" I started crying again
"Nah don't even try and blame yourself for something that didn't have to do with you. No matter what you did you couldn't have stopped what was suppose to happen. We live a dangerous life in these streets. We know what comes with it. Just like Trey knew that one day a fuck nigga was gonna catch him"
"Tez get out the streets. You and Dre please. I don't think I can take another loss. Please" I begged him
"We're trying baby girl. We trying"
