"I don't have it in me to deny it"
I had fully planned on sleeping in today, that is until my brother threw my hairbrush at me telling me to get ready because the whole family is going out for breakfast. I just put on the first things my tired eyes saw.
Tiredly walking down the stairs the first thing I see is my parents bright smiles and the annoyance on my brothers face from having to get up so early.
"Why're we going out for breakfast? and why so early? it's like 8am." I ask while putting my shoes on
"Because it's my only day off this weekend and I want to spend it with my family." my mother answers before opening the door and heading to the car, the rest of us following behind her.
It was no surprise we ended up going to pops, it's the only place around that would be open this early, not like there's anywhere else to eat around here anyways.
There wasn't anyone else here other than us and the workers, which Is a good thing for me because i look like I came straight out of the walking dead. I should probably talk to pop about picking a few shifts, it's been a while since I've worked.
"Welcome to pops what can I get for you?" the waitress Sally asks looking at me first
After taking our order it took about 20 minutes for her to come back with our food. I gave her a small thank you before digging into my food. I ordered my usual breakfast at pops which is his infamous waffles and a side of bacon.
Since we were to bust eating we didn't get to talk much, but when we did it was about little things like school and my non existent love life, you would think my parents would be against me dating but they're always telling me that I need to get out and meet someone, my mom says it's cause she wants grandbabies and my dad says it's cause he want's a reason to whip out his old shotgun.
I heard some other people arrive as we left but didn't pay any attention to them. I just wanted to go home and take a nap.
"Callie!" i hear someone call my name, turning around I notice it was Quinn, who is accompanied by sweet pea, fangs and a pink haired girl.
I smile and wave as they make their was over to us, it feels like it's been forever since I last saw Quinn.
Looking over to Logan and our parents I notice the curious looks on their faces.
"Guys this is Quinn, Fangs and Sweet pea." I gesture to three of the four serpents, considering I don't know the other girl. I Can't help but notice Logan admiring Quinn, it makes sense, I mean she's beautiful.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you." my mom says to them before turning to look at me.
"your father and I will just wait in the car while you talk to your friends." she says to me before grabbing my dads hand and all but dragging him back to the car, most likely to spy on us like a couple of little kids.
Turning back around I look at the pink haired girl and decide I should introduce myself.
"I'm Callie, it's nice to meet you." I say sticking my hand out for her to shake
"Toni Topaz, and i know who you are, Quinn and Sweet pea talk about their new northside friend all the time." she says shaking my hand before letting it go
"Logan, Sweet pea and Fangs are actually the ones I ran into when I got lost." I say to Logan, finally getting him to stop staring at Quinn like a weirdo.
"Which time?" he says chuckling
"But in all seriousness, thanks for making sure nothing happened to her." he says looking at the boys
"Anytime." Sweet pea answers, which causes me to blush like an idiot.
"How're you doing? I'm sorry I haven't had the chance to call lately but I've been pretty busy." Quinn asks me
"I'm okay, it sucks obviously but I've got my brother and he's the only friend I need." I say looking over at my brother who pulls me into a side hug and smiles down at me.
"You guys seem really close." Sweet pea says
"We are, there's nothing I wouldn't do for my sister." Logan says back
"Man, i'd hate to see what you'd do if someone ever breaks her heart." Fangs suddenly jumps into the conversation
"It would be the last thing they ever did that's for sure." Logan says back seriously
"We should probably go, our parents won't wait forever." I say to Logan
"Yeah you're right, it was nice meeting you guys." Logan says, his eyes lingering on Quinn a little longer than the rest.
"I'll text you later if that's okay?" I ask Quinn
"Sounds good, nice seeing you."
"you to." i say back, glancing at sweet pea as I do.
Getting back to the car, I can't help but look back one more time, only to see the tall serpent already doing the same.

We arrived home a few minutes later, I could tell my mom wanted to say something the whole way home but didn't because of the other two being there. Deciding that I should ask her what's wrong I pull her aside and into the kitchen.
"You looked like you wanted to say something earlier." I state
"What's up with you and that boy? the tall one." she asks
"Who sweet pea? We're kind of friends I guess, why?" I ask back
"Because the whole time you were talking to the girl, he wouldn't stop looking at you." she says with a smirk on her face
"Well there's nothing going on between us, just friends." I say while trying to control my blush
"What a shame, he's a cutie." she states
"Little young for you don't you think mom?" I say smirking at her
"Oh hush, I meant for you." She says rolling her eyes playfully
"Oh yeah sure, totally. Just try and remember you're a married woman." I say
Just as she was about to answer, the guys come into the room and declare they want to make chocolate chip cookies. My mom and I looked at each other, rolled our eyes and shook our heads before getting the ingredients out. This wasn't going to end well.

I was right about it not ending well. Every time we try and bake something together someone always ends up making a mess of some sort, and this time it was a full on food fight. It started when dad thought it would be funny to sprinkle flour on my moms head, and then she retaliated but throwing some at him and well... a few flying balls of cookie dough and heaps of flour later and we're all sitting on the floor laughing like a couple of hyenas.
"Why don't you kids go get cleaned up, we'll start cleaning the kitchen." my dad says between laughs
We do as he says and go to wash off all the flour and dough. By the time I'm done getting cleaned off the kitchen is done.
"We ordered pizza for dinner, go pick out a movie to watch while we eat." mom says before heading to the bathroom I was just in to clean up, considering Logan is still in the other one.
I decided i wanted to have a Thor marathon, Chris Hemsworth here I come.
We spent the rest of the night laughing and enjoying our time together. This day would be one i'll never forget, and I'm glad to have spent it with such an amazing family.

Sorry it's late i've been super busy but I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Don't worry the next chapter will start focusing on her relationship with sweet pea!
