As the guy paces the room, Kate tries to figure out her relationship to this man.

Does she know him?

Has she seen him somewhere before?

But most importantly, how does he know her name?

Whether or not anything related to the situation, he still captured her and he still knew her from somewhere. But Kate hoped that for a slight chance that he did know her and it wasn’t someone in the bigger picture.

"Kate, you like it here? I don't know if this is a permanent location for you, but this will have to work for now."

The man talks, acting as if they were out for a sunday stroll. But with the chloroform still running through her system, all Kate can do is squirm and moan, barely comprehending what has come out of his mouth.

Kate knows that there is no one there to help her get away from this man and away from this place.  Her eyes slowly close as she thinks of anything weird that lead up to this.  But in her drugged state, her mind only came up blank.

"To make sure when the drugs leave your system, that you don’t escape."

The guy explains as he reaches over onto one of the shelves next to her.  He pulls out another pair of handcuffs and a roll of duct tape. He barely notices Kate's eyes showing remorse, pity and empathy.

He clips the handcuff onto the right side’s bed post, softly whistling as he worked.  The poll was sturdy, with no way to pull the cuff off. He grabbed Kate's wrist forcefully without any disregard to her moan of pain and roughly forced the other end of the handcuff around it.

Moments later, he sits back to observe his work, a large smile on his decaying face. His rotten yellow teeth, musty with the lack of care, cause Kate to cringe back as much as she could.

Kate looks to the barred window above her and not even a moment later, the sound of duct tape rings out through the barren room. He smiles in delight, licking his lips before ripping off a piece with his teeth.

Before the piece of tape reached her mouth, her drug idle state comes to an abrupt end. Realizing this, Kate lets out a shrill scream, hoping it would be heard by someone, anyone. The man sighs in annoyance as her scream continues.  In an instant, his revolver is out of its holster and pinned to Kate’s forehead and tape is roughly placed over her lips.

"If you dare to make another sound, it will be your last one.” He spits menacingly.

Shock and fear sprint through Kate’s body, causing her to go stiff.  All she can reply with is a curt nod, confirming she agrees to what has been said. He looks happy, cockily waving the gun back and forth above her head.

The morbidly vile man strokes Kate’s cheek with the tip of the weapon, looking at her breasts with clouded eyes. Lower and lower the gun goes, leaving a trail of gooseflesh in its wake.  It finally stops its journey right at her breast, Kate now holding her breath in fear of what to come next.

“Oh, they are very lovely.” He whispers, leaning closer to Kate’s face.  Her skins grows pale to what could possibly happen next and thoughts of rape roam Kate's mind.  Her head shakes in despair, wanting this to cease from happening.

A phone rings, at first the man ignores it, continuing to get closer to Kate. The constant sound drives him to pursue Kate even further then before. But, before he can touch her, the thought of it maybe being his boss. He quickly leans back, reaching into his front pocket and pulling out an old flip phone.

"Shhh," he says to Kate, putting one finger over her taped lips in mockery.  Snapping open the phone, the man absentmindedly places the gun back into its holster, clicking it into place.

The man, who remains nameless, begins to talk on the phone in a worried voice, continuing to place another layer of duct tape over her mouth. Last he uses it to wrap her two legs together, sealing her in place.

The man is obviously very used to not letting other people listen into his conversations as Kate can’t make out a word of what he or the other person are saying as he steps into the hallway, his eyes on Kate the entire time.

Then suddenly, he talks a bit louder, like he wanted Kate to hear the next sentence. And it stunned her.

He said, clear as day, "the package has been delivered".

Kate’s blood runs cold, her skin going pale in fear and anger.  How dare he treat her as if she were just a piece of garbage! But before she could yell and scream at him from behind her duct tape mask, he gives her a quick wave and a gruesome smile that made her stop in her tracks.

“Have fun, Kate.” Is all he says before slamming to door shut with a metallic boom.

With the man finally gone, despite being chained down and locked in a mental hospital, Kate finally felt calm for the first time while being in this creepy place.  But that can never last long.

Kate begins to scream and yell again, hoping that the man will not come back to finish her off.  At this point though, the emotions beyond fear can be heard in her voice.

Throughout the locked door, almost muted by the heavy metal, the maniac’s car can be heard.  The engine roars and can be heard speeding out of the lot.

The maniac has fled, to where, Kate hopes she will never find out. She let's out a sigh of relief at his absence. The the reality finally sinks in and her breath comes out struggled through her nose.  Seeing her chance of survival is most likely, one in a million.

Her mouth is taped, no one is there to hear her next words. No one to hear the pitiful truth.

"I might die today."

Kate mumbles through the tape, her eyes starting to water and pressure building up behind her eyes. For a moment, she tries to fight to oncoming tears, but soon the truth is given away and it comes rushing down on her face like a waterfall. One descends after another and it’s like they cannot stop.

The tear take her make up with them, causing black and skin coloured streams to run down onto her shirt.

Images of rain play around inside of her hopeless mind. All of this, just because of one quick trip to Shady Holmes.

Out of nowhere, Kate's cellphone vibrates. Never before has she been so happy that the man was looking at her breasts then at her pockets. The feeling of relief and joy flood her body, maybe she will be okay. But there is one slight problem, the phone is in her pants pocket, very far away from her chained hands.

It could only be one of her friends, who are probably waiting for her to show up.

Who else would call at a time like this?

But as soon as Kate thinks it, it leaves her mind completely. Kate's mind is on a chance to freedom, nothing else.

She doesn’t want to think about what would happen if she didn’t escape, the mystery behind what would happen next. The phone continues to ring, wearing down Kate’s hope back into fear.

What if the man came back and found her phone?

What would she do then?

Kate stops for a moment to observe her situation.  Both of her hands are chained to the posts above her, both of which don’t budge, despite all of her efforts. Her mouth is taped so even if she could get on the phone, it would be pointless.  And with her legs also duct taped, she could not run even if she did escape from the chains.

She refuses to give up though, for there must be a way out.  Kate struggles against the cuffs, only stopping when the searing pain becomes too much. She can feel the warm blood dripping down her arm.  Kate scolds herself for trying to get out of something so tight, but she had to try, didn’t she?

From one arm to the next, large drops of blood roll down from her wrists, landing on the pillow next to her head. Letting out a pain filled sigh, Kate examines her hand, only to notice that the cuff did not move at all.

She lets out another long sigh, restlessness and desperateness growing inside of her.

By this point, her phone had stopped vibrating, causing what little hope Kate had to go down the drain. Kate emotionlessly gazes at the ceiling, finally giving up and hoping that whatever came next would be painless and quick.

Soon, despite the frightening circumstances, Kate falls into a restless sleep, her last thought on freedom.
