Summary- being pregnant with twins was a wild experience. Kai was active in his pregnancy because it makes things easier. Though in the last month his back was killing him. Kai is very good at hiding pain but Kyungsoo was very good at knowing when his husband was in pain. So when Kai tried to hide contractions Kyungsoo shut it down quickly.
Kai had a great pregnancy. Mostly because he was active and tried to eat well and take care of himself. He still worked and didn't use his pregnancy as an excuse to not do something.
Literally everyone was excited for the babies to arrive. Whether they were close or not.
Kai was 6 months pregnant when he declared he wasn't wearing anything but leggings or comfy shorts.
With that statement Kyungsoo went and bought Kai every pair of leggings he wanted and every pair of shorts he liked.
Kai was cute pregnant.
He was thin everywhere but his baby bump. As he always had a small frame it was a very obvious bump.
Kyungsoo would come home some days finding Kai and Jae dancing in the living room. He'd video it and watch the cute videos over and over again.
Some days he'd wake up finding Kai and their daughter in the kitchen making breakfast singing and dancing.
Kyungsoo loved every moment of every day and he owed it all to one person who's given him 3 more people to love.
Kai was now 9 months pregnant. He was ready for the babies to be out.
He hadn't slept well the last few days from the babies shifting and kicking mixed with back pain.
They were all in the practice room as the rest of EXO had a performance at MMAs the next day.
Kai has been having small cramps since this morning and was in a bit of discomfort.
When he got a stronger pain he tried to hide it as he sat on the couch in the back of the room. Kyungsoo seen the discomfort but didn't say anything as they were almost finished with the song and he didn't wanna have to start over.
When they finished running through the performance he walked over to Kai
"What hurts? And don't say nothing I saw it." Kyungsoo kneeled in front of Kai who was still sitting on the couch.
Kai squeezes his eyes shut as another sharp pain shot through his abdomen and let out a breath
Kyungsoo knew what was going on and grabbed his stuff Jae was with Taemin again cause she loved him for some reason. (Me too girl me too)
"We are going to the hospital. I'll text you." Kyungsoo spoke getting everyone's attention. They all nodded not wanting to disturb Kai at the moment.
Kyungsoo helped Kai up and they walked to Shinees practice room
"Hey we are going to the hospital. Can you do me a huge favor and bring her up in like an hour?"
"Of course. Just text me the details and we'll be there" Taemin smiled "good luck"
Kyungsoo said a quick thank you and helped Kai out to their car.
Kai got another contraction as they got to the car and took in a deep breath leaning against the car
Kyungsoo rubbed the youngers back until the contraction was over and helped him into the car buckling him up before getting in driving off to the hospital.
*time skip to in the room*
Their midwife had just left the room after checking Kai and talking about a few things. Kai was at a 4 so he could rest a bit before things got worse.
Kyungsoo messaged Taemin telling him the room number. He then sat beside the bed rubbing kais back humming softly running a hand through the youngers hair.
A little bit later Taemin came in with Jae and Minho as Taemin didn't like to drive so he'd made Minho his personal driver.
"Mommy!" Jae spoke as she got in the room and walked over to the bed
"Princess" Kai smiled softly and picked her up holding her as she hugged him he closed his eyes just holding her
Kyungsoo and the other couple in the room smiled at the bond between the two.
Jae loved her mommy more than anything and her mommy loved her the same way. They were inseparable.
Kai held her breathing through contractions calmly
He and Jae decided to dance through contractions giggling with eachother making everyone in the room happy.
Kai was calm breathing through contractions and dancing. He wore sweatpants and a sports bra as he said the hospital gown looked like a curtain.
Taemin and Minho hung out for a bit Jae and Kai keeping everyone entertained
Kyungsoo noticed when the contractions started getting stronger and had Taemin and Minho take Jae out to go eat and do whatever telling them he'd message them.
Once they were gone he helped Kai up and the two walked around the room stopping with contractions rubbing his hips and back as the younger breathed through each pain
The midwife came in every hour or so checking him and his water broke a little bit ago making contractions stronger.
Kai was currently laid on his side gripping the bed rail breathing through a contraction
Kyungsoo sat beside him rubbing his back
Kai let out a small whine of pain as the contraction continued
Kyungsoo wiped his forehead and ran his fingers through kais hair. It'd been 12 hours since they'd gotten to the hospital so it was now around 7am. They'd gotten a bit if rest. Kyungsoo more than Kai as Kai had told him to sleep.
Kyungsoo had woken up around 15 minutes ago and Kai was grateful
As another contraction came not even 2 minutes after the last one ended it brought a lot of pressure
"I n-need Mm" Kai couldn't finish his sentence as the contraction got stronger
"Need what baby?"
"Push. I need to push" his voice was urgent
Kyungsoo pressed the button for the midwife to come in.
When she walked in she immediately grabbed the blankets for the babies putting them to the side. A nurse came in and helped move the blankets off of Kai who was breathing through another contraction still on his side
"Sweetheart let's turn on your back" the midwife spoke as she came over helping him "You know what to do. Just do what you need to"
Kai nodded as Kyungsoo ran a hand through his hair kissing his forehead softly.
Things changed quickly as he started pushing the first baby coming pretty fast.
He was in pain the burning sensation increasing as he pushed the first babies head crowning.
He winced at the feeling
"Push through the pain. It'll be over soon" the midwife spoke
Kai let out a soft groan pushing harder almost screaming as the first babies head came out.
"2 more pushes and the first baby will be here."
He pushed again
"Last push Kai come on"
He pushed one last time and the first baby was laid on his chest screaming.
"Baby number one is a boy!"
The next baby came pretty fast but not any less painful.
When she was laid on kais chest he sighed in relief looking up at Kyungsoo
"They're finally here baby" Kyungsoo smiled softly and Kai smiled sleepily as Kyungsoo cut the babies cords and they were taken to be cleaned up and weighed as Kai was cleaned up
The midwife brought the babies back the nurse helping Kai take the things off his chest so it was bare for the two babies to lay on.
As soon as they were laid on kais chest they calmed down. Kyungsoo took a picture and sent it to The group chat they had with the rest of exo.
Kyungsoo- they are here! Good luck on the performance!
Baekhyun- how fricken cute. Send me some pictures and videos manager wants to make a video for the encore so everyone knows where you are.
Kyungsoo- kk I'll send it to him.
Kyungsoo sent pictures and cute videos from the last 9 months. Including the ones of Kai and Jae dancing in the living room or singing in the kitchen or where Kai had a run of ice cream on his baby bump and he and Jae were eating out of it watching a movie evenbthe picture of Kai and Jae from the day before when she'd come to visit.
Exos performance
They performed 2 songs and were doing encore
"We are sorry to say that Kyungsoo nor Kai could be here tonight. They are a little busy. So here's a little video of the last nine months for them!" Suho spoke and the video came up on the big screen.
Everyone was laughing at the part where Kyungsoo was trying to reason with Kai on not wearing shorts in winter
"Baby its 20 degrees outside"
"Your point is?"
"It's cold! You can't wear shorts outside baby"
"I'm hot okay. I am sweating! You're lucky I'm wearing pants at all."
"Fine atleast wear a jacket"
Everyone was laughing and the next video came up of Kai and Jae dancing in the living room
"What are you two doing?" You could head Kyungsoo from behind the camera
"Getting jiggy with it daddy" Jae spoke and kept dancing
"What she said" Kai said and kept dancing with her
Everyone was in a fit of laughter as the video of Kai on the couch with a tub of ice cream on his baby bump came up with he and Jae eating out of it with spoons.
You could see where one of the babies kicked the tub of ice cream and Kai caught it.
"That was totally rude" he looked at his bump "don't kick the ice cream" and with that there was another kick to the ice cream "seriously?"
Everyone was laughing again that video was taken a few days ago.
The next picture that came up was the one of Kai holding Jae in the hospital bed the night before.
Then it was a video of Kai and Jae dancing in the hospital room through contractions.
The next was a video of Kai in the hospital laughing and breathing through a contraction telling Kyungsoo to shut up.
Everyone gasped when the picture of Kai holding the babies came up. And then a picture of the babies alone saying when they were born which was a few hours ago.
"Well we welcomed two new members today. Which is the reason Kai and Kyungsoo could not be here. We love you all! Please send lots of love to the Kaisoo family!!" Baekhyun spoke as they left stage everyone was clapping
