Natalia was sitting beside Renesmee in the back of the car as Bella drove and Jacob sat in the passenger seat beside her. They were on their way to Charlie's house, Bella knew her father would want to come and visit her and Renesmee and with a house full of vampires it wasn't a good idea so it was best for her to bring Nessie over and Natalia couldn't help but agree. In the beginning, the blonde wasn't going to come with them but Seth personally told Jacob to bring her with she couldn't say no.
Besides, it was a good change, from everything that was happening at the house. She didn't like the idea of staying in the house without Renesmee. She was what kept her from encountering Ace or Edward who the girl was still trying to ignore which was hard when it came to Ace who was known for not giving up easily.
Natalia decided to tune into Jacob's and Bella's conversation when it was starting to get interesting. She kept her eyes on the road but her ears were taking in everything that was being said.
"I'm surprised you took a break from Jedi training," Jacob said amused.
"If I don't take Renesmee to my dad, he'll come to us. Twenty-seven vampires, one human. Not so great." Jacob looked back at Renesmee and Natalia to see if they were listening before looking back at Bella and whispering lightly.
"I know that's what you told Edward." From the corner of her as she faced forward she could see Renesmee watching Bella and Jacob with a small smile on her face causing Natalia to get a ghostly smile on her face. Renesmee didn't talk much and was only a child but she was very clever.
"Whatever. I'm just glad to get away from all those reeking bloodsuckers." Both Natalia and Bella looked over at Jacob with matching expressions, they weren't offended by what he said but it still made them look his direction with a raised eyebrow and that 'are you serious' look causing Jacob to scoff.
"I'm sorry. I know. They're the good guys. But come on, Dracula One and Two are...Creepy." Jacob made an exaggerated facial expression of Stefan and Vladimir causing Bella to laugh and Natalia to get a teasing smile on her face as she leaned forward so her head was in between their seats.
"Now Jacob, didn't your father tell you to respect your elders? Especially if they're a thousand years older than you and are vampires?" Now it was Jacob's chance to get a teasing smile as he looked back at the older girl with a raised eyebrow.
"You mean like you? How old exactly are you? 500? 600 years?" Jacob started to laugh harder while Natalia and Bella shook their head with wide smiles on their faces. Natalia looked over at Bella while pointing at Jacob with a smirk.
"Don't you know you shouldn't ask a lady about her age Jake? Do you see this Bella? This is what I meant when I said that back in the 1700's men had better manners towards the ladies. No respect whatsoever." Jacob rolled his eyes as a laughing Bella parked in her father's yard.
The moment that the car parked Renesmee was the first to jump out of the car and right into Charlie's arms causing him to twirl her around. Natalia smiled at this as she got out after Jacob and Bella.
"Wow! Look at you. You've grown half a foot! Seriously. Like six inches." Charlie looked back at Sue who only chuckled making Natalia smile. The two looked good together, they both needed each other. Sue looked over at the two vampire girls and Jacob with a wide smile.
"Come on inside. Lunch is on the table and Seth couldn't wait for you to finally get here." Natalia rolled her eyes with a smile as she and Sue held eye contact with a knowing smile. At the beginning Natalia was worried that Sue wasn't going to like her, she was worried that her reaction towards her would be the same as Leah's at the beginning of knowing each other. But thankfully that girl was completely wrong and the woman welcomed her with open arms like she was her second daughter which made Natalia more than thankful towards her.
"We got a tree to decorate, huh?" Charlie said looking down at his granddaughter.
"I've actually got a few errands to run, guys. I'll be back soon, okay?" When Bella said that both Jacob and Natalia looked back at Bella who got in the car as Charlie, Sue, and Renesmee ran into the house. When Bella's car drove off Jacob looked over at Natalia with a raised eyebrow asking her if she knew anything about what Bella was planning but the blonde only shook her head before walking in the direction of the house with Jacob walking in after.
"Don't ask me, Jacob, I know nothing..." Jacob looked over at the blonde when he saw her furrowed brows and he grabbed her by the arm before they could enter the house with a concerned look.
"Are you alright? I've noticed that you and Edward haven't been as close lately." Natalia only shook her head smiling and thanking Seth subconsciously that he didn't say anything about her recent emotional problems to Jake.
"Don't worry Jake, I'm all good." Jacob opened his mouth trying to reason more but he was interrupted by the door of the house being loudly opened with a slightly agitated Seth looking between Jacob and Natalia and his eyes lingering a bit longer on Jacob's hand holding Natalia's arm.
"Come on Jake, stop keeping her all to yourself." Before Jacob or Natalia can say anything Seth grabs Natalia's arm gently before pulling her into the house. At this action, Natalia couldn't help but roll her eyes and let a small laugh leave her mouth.
As she was being pulled by Seth the pair passed by Charlie and Sue who looked up when they heard the teenagers walking.
"Hey, Natalia I haven't seen you in a while. How are you" Natalia and Seth stopped in their tracks and she smiled at Charlie as Seth's hand still gripped onto her arm.
"I'm very good what about you? Did you catch anything good lately?" The man laughed shaking his head.
"No, wasn't so lucky lately. Would you like to eat something? Sue made some delicious meals."
"No thank you I already ate, but maybe next time." Charlie nodded his head before looking down at his granddaughter. No waiting any second longer Seth started to pull Natalia away from the sitting room so he could show her what he intended on from the beginning.
Seth pulled Natalia into the kitchen before letting go of her arm and moving to the back to get something.
Natalia sat down at the table waiting for the boy before he appeared back with a big box and a wide smile framing his mouth. Seth stood in front of the girl holding the box right in front of her causing the blonde to look between him and the box with a raised eyebrow.
"Seth... We didn't say anything about presents... I didn't get you anything.." The boy only rolled his eyes showing her that it didn't matter because it really didn't.
"That's not the point in getting someone presents. I didn't get you this so I could get something back from you... I got you this because you've been sad lately and I wanted to make you smile." Natalia's mouth parted slightly as she smiled.
"You couldn't have just said a joke? You had to go out and spend money on me?" Seth shook his head fixing his stance with a proud smile on his face.
"A joke would have only kept you happy for a while, this will keep you happy when I'm not there to make sure of it. Besides... I would do much more than spend money to make sure you're happy." Natalia was speechless by what he said, she knew she wasn't good enough for Seth... she would never be able to be good enough. He loves her so much that it scares her... It scares her so much that she doesn't know what to say.
Shaking her head as the venom built up in her eyes Natalia reached forward to grab the box and as she did she was shocked to see that it was heavier than she expected. Seth watched the girl closely as he pulled the ribbon of the lid slowly, he was getting so nervous that there were a few sweat droplets on his forehead.
Before Natalia lifted the lid of the box Natalia looked over at the boy with a raised eyebrow because she could hear how quickly his heart was beating.
"Don't be so nervous Seth... I'm going to love it no matter what it is. Even if there is a massive stone in there I will still like it." Rolling his eyes Seth nodded.
"Right, right just open the box." Shaking her head with a small laugh Natalia lifted the box and when she looked inside her eyes widened shocked. She quickly looked back at Seth and her shocked facial expression changed into a wide smile as she threw the lid away.
"Seth.." She dug into the box as its soft fur touched her fingers and she pulled out the snow-white kitten that had massive blue eyes staring right into hers. She pulled the kitten delicately to her chest scared that if she applied any more force she would crush the little thing.
Natalia looked over at Seth with wide eyes that glossed over from the venom and she couldn't utter any words. She couldn't believe he would do this. For the first time in a very, very long time the girl felt truly happy. The happiness that she felt was so strong that it was infectious. It started as a tingle in her fingers and toes. She feels it pass through her like a warm ocean wave, washing away the stress of her day to leave her refreshed inside. As the wave fades she savours the memory of its gentle touch. The feeling is a blissful evocation of time spent on the beach.
She quickly puts the kitten gently away and pulls Seth into a tight hug causing him to quickly hug her back and let his hands fall to her waist. There was something so warm, something that felt right, smelt right about this hug in particular. She let her body sag, her muscles become loose. He gave her the respect of an equal but cradled her like a cherished child. In that embrace, she felt her worries lose their keen sting and her optimism raise its head from the dirt. Perhaps the hope had been there all along, but without some love, it was trapped, like crystals in a stone.
"Thank you... Thank you, Seth..." It was quiet but it was powerfully showing the boy just how much she meant it causing him to smile and he held her.
"Don't thank me. I would do anything for you."
"Why?" It was only one word but it was powerful. Why? There are countless answers to the question of why, but she didn't expect him to say this one.
"Because I love you." This made Natalia's eyes snap open, love is a word that is so strong it can either heal you or break you. The word holds more power than it should.
"I love you too." A sad smile played its way onto his face when he heard her speak up because even though she said she loves him it's not the way he does.
It will never be the same way.

So I have been watching the Netflix show 'Dynasty' lately and I have been thinking about having a book surrounding that show, I already have a small idea forming in my head. I would start that book only after I have finished 'The Purest of The Cullens'
I'm not yet set if I would be doing that or not but would you like to see me doing a fanfic surrounding it?
