Graduation is supposed to be the happiest day of a student's life because they are finally free from high school. But when you graduate from high school the number of times the Cullen's have it becomes just another diploma they can add to their growing list.
But this doesn't mean that every time the Cullen's graduate it means completely nothing, they still enjoy it just maybe not in the same way all the other students do. Of course, this graduation was different because Edward was with Bella and because of the party that was going to happen after.
This thought made Natalia sit beside Alice with a bigger smile than usual because they would be celebrating with other people.
"When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our answers were things like astronaut, president... Or, in my case, a princess. When we were ten they asked again. We answered, rock star, cowboy. Or, in my case, a gold medalist. But now that we've grown up, they want a serious answer. Well, how about this? Who the hell knows?" The crowd cheered applauding the girl. Natalia smiled proudly at Jessica because of how well she wrote her speech.
"This isn't the time to make hard-and-fast decisions. This is the time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere. Fall in love, a lot. Major in philosophy, because there's no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind, and change it again, because nothing's permanent. So make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday, when they ask what we want to be... we won't have to guess. We'll know." Natalia smiled down knowingly as the crowd cheered again, if only it was that easy for her to fall in love again. So she could fill in the hole in her heart. But how can she fall in love when no one comes at least near enough?
When they came back home as the party got in full swing Natalia went up into her room quietly to do something first. It was a little tradition Natalia had made for herself each time she would graduate from high school and sometimes even college. A little painting of her father stood on the table making her smile. She brought out her diploma and placed it in front of her father's painting.
The painting perfectly showed her father, he had the same stone-cold expression and a glass of alcohol in his hand.
"Look at this father! I have another diploma I can add to my collection! I wish you could see this or be here and maybe even congratulate me, but I know you are looking down at me smiling proudly at what I did." The blonde went to many colleges and once even studied law, everyone except Carlisle was shocked to hear this because she just didn't have the character for a lawyer.
But she didn't do it for herself but for her father, she wanted something to make her feel closer to her father. A voice in the room made Natalia look away from the picture.
"What are you doing here? You should be downstairs enjoying yourself." Alice said as she stood in the doorway with her hands on her hips. Natalia laughed putting her diploma back on the desk.
"I'm sorry, shall we go down now?" Alice rolled her eyes pulling the girl by the arm and down the stairs. But as the two were walking down the stairs Natalia felt Alice let go of her arm and freeze in the spot. The blonde looked over at Alice knowing she was having a vision.
"Alice?" When Bella heard Natalia's voice she looked over at the two girls to also notice Alice having a vision.
"Alice, what'd you see?"
"The decision's been made."
The suddenness of Jacob's voice made Natalia only notice him now. "What's going on?" The blonde looked behind him to see two other boys from the tribe standing not too far away from him. From the smell she got of them she knew they were both also wolfs.
"You're not going to Seattle." Alice looked down at Bella shaking her head.
"No. They're coming here." When Alic said that Natalia shared an uneasy look with Bella.
"We need to tell Edward and Carlisle." As the blonde said that she walked down the stairs with Alice, Bella, and the rest of the wolves who followed after her into a room in which the rest were currently in. As Natalia walked in she was the first to speak up.
"We're not going to Seattle." Edward looked over at his sister confused.
"What? Why?" Natalia went and stood beside the wall sighing.
"Because they're coming here." Carlisle looked over at Alice with a concerned look.
"How much time do we have?"
"They'll be here in four days."
"This could turn into a bloodbath." Natalia shook her head at Carlisle's comment.
"It already has." Edward frowned looking over at Alice.
"Who's behind it?" Natalia looked over at Alice who was standing by Jasper.
"I didn't see anyone I recognized. Maybe one." Edward read Alice's mind nodding recognizing his face also.
"I know his face. He's local. Riley Biers." Natalia looked down trying to think this over while shaking her head before voicing her opinion.
"But he didn't start this, he has no reason to."
"Whoever did is staying out of the action." When Alice said that Natalia realized that whoever this was they knew about Alice's abilities and they knew she would know, whoever was behind this wasn't a stranger.
"They must be playing with the blind spots in your vision." Said Carlisle thinking the same as Natalia
"Either way, the army is coming and there aren't enough of us to protect the town." As Jasper said that Jacob looked between the Cullen's confused before finally speaking.
"Hold up. What damn army?" Natalia looked over at the wolves remembering again about their presence in the room. She was so captivated by the whole situation that she forgot they were in the room, she even couldn't smell them anymore.
"Newborns. Our kind." One of the wolves that was with Jacob, Embry looked over at the blonde girl confused.
"What are they after?"
"They were passing around Bella's scent. A red blouse." Said Alice remembering her vision of Riley holding Bella's blouse.
"They're after Bella? What the hell does this mean?" Jacob asked angrily not liking the fact that someone was after Bella...Again...
The blonde looked over at the human girl with sympathetic eyes. This girl just seems to be able to have all the vampires going after her. First James and Victoria and now this army.
"It means an ugly fight with lives lost." When Jacob heard Carlisle say this he looked back at the two other werewolves in the room who nodded back at him, Natalia furrowed her brows fearing knowing what this meant.
"All right. We're in." When Jacob said this Natalia couldn't help but raise her eyebrow at the wolf and when Bella responded to his declaration the blonde couldn't help but chuckle.
"No. You'd get yourselves killed. No way." On the contrary, with the help of the wolves and fighting in a known place, this fight won't be that bad.
"I wasn't asking for permission." Natalia's dark blonde eyebrows lifted in surprise, and so the wolf showed his teeth. Bella looked over at Natalia knowing that the blonde was against fighting in general.
"Natalia?" Natalia's golden eyes went away from the wolves and back at Bella with a small smile.
"With the wolfs on our side it will mean higher chances of our win. We won't be able to hold down a whole army of newborns. We would be severely outnumbered." When the blonde said this it was like Bella's last chance of keeping Jacob out of this vanished.
"Jacob, do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?" Asked Carlisle looking directly at Jacob.
"As long as we get to kill some vampires." As Jacob said that he let a little grin escape onto his lips.
"Jasper?" Asked Carlisle because of Jasper's knowledge of the newborns.
"The newborns won't even know they exist. That'll give us an edge." Natalia looked over at Carlise.
"We all will need training. Fighting newborns requires knowledge that Jasper has. It would be better if you came too." The last part was aimed at the wolves as Natalia looked at Jacob.
" All right. Name the time and place."
And like this, the two enemies united to defeat a common enemy.
