Edward is stressed, as well as sick and tired of people telling him to act his age. At 15, he's ridiculed for playing with kids, and yet encouraged to not work to hard and relax.
I like stories like these because it exploits the small facts about fma, and Edward in particular.
He was, what? 6 years old when their mom died and he had to become a responsible older brother to Al. He was only 11 when they made the biggest mistake of their lives. And he was 12 when he joined the military. Edward had to grow up young, and that's one of the dark, but amazing things about him.
