Why? Why did I join him? Why did I turn my back? On Annabeth, on Chiron, and on...
Him.
Him and his sea green eyes! His wild, raven hair! He was the only one who could beat me! He was... A challenge.
But I threw that challenge- along with everything else- into the trash where I belong.
I tried not to fall asleep as I lay in my standard, metal army bed.
At least I- unlike the other recruited, recrutes- wasn't forced to sleep in the cabin where everyone else slept- guy or girl. It didn't matter.
Even if my walls where plain white, with nothing covering them. At least they weren't metal.
At least I had windows.
So who cares if my bed was a bit lumpy?
Who cates if I left my soft, wooden one behind when I betrayed the one I loved most.
Because Luke Castellan, sure didn't.
I tried to keep my eyes open- I really did!
But Kronos' soft, superior lull eventually pulled my sky-blue eyes shut.
My last thought before I fell asleep- into his waking arms- was:
Please- let him be generous tonight.
