I awoke feeling odd. Something didn't feeling right, but I couldn't figure out what it was.
I sat up, stretched and yawned.
Woah, this feels like deja vu...
I got up and started getting ready for school.
"Good morning Kami." I heard Amber's voice.
I turned. "Hey Amber."
"You okay?"
"I don't know."
"Wha do you mean?"
"I don't feel right."
"Like...? Are you sick?"
"No, not like that. Like something changed about me?"
"Like what?"
"I don't know, that's the problem."
I looked at myself in the mirror and started thinking.
Was that a dream last night? It felt surreal, was it like a vision into another reality? But John was aware of it too.
Wait, I felt weird that 'morning' too, could it be that my ability is gone? But why?
"Kami?"
"Huh!" I jumped and turned around to see Sera.
"Hey Sera." At least I'm in the correct reality... I think.
"Hey Kami, sleep well?"
"I guess."
"What do you mean?"
"It's hard to explain."
"Amber told me you didn't feel right."
"Yeah." I stood up. "I'll be back."
"But you have to get ready for school!"
"I'm usually on the roof anyways." I said as I left the dorm.
I started running towards the guys dorm and ran inside.
"Where's John's and Blyke's room!" I groaned. I ran down the halls until I found it. "Hah!" I knocked on the door and Blyke answered. "Can I speak to John real fast?"
Blyke glared at me. "John!" He called.
I stood there waiting.
John finally appeared and Blyke walked away, but glared from a distance. Jealousy... honestly I don't think I'm ready for that kind of relationship.
"John, I have a problem."
"Did you dream it too and thought it was real?"
"Yeah, but that's not exactly what I'm talking about."
"What?"
"In that dream, I woke up the same way, with the weird feeling. I think my ability is gone."
"That can't be possible, how could it just be gone?"
I shrugged. "John, I'm panicking."
He looked at me worried.
"What's going on?" I could tell Blyke wanted to interviene.
"Blyke this doesn't concern you."
"John, that's rude."
"I'm just saying."
"But He is my friend, and friends deserve to know. I only came to you first because I wanted to see if he remembered the dream."
"Dream?"
I walked in and sat down. "Sit." I patted the sofa. "Lemme explain."
"And now you're caught up." I sighed.
"So it felt like a real dream to you two?"
We nodded. "But part of it is still with me, my lack of ability."
"Are you sure."
"I had the same feeling when I woke up this morning as I did in the dream."
"But that doesn't explain anything."
"Does it have to? Nothing ever seems real in this reality, but it is!"
"Okay, calm down."
"Blyke I can't! I'm very panicky and anxious!"
"Kami," Blyke put his hands on my shoulders. "Your friends are here for you, so please, calm down."
I took a deep breath. "Okay.."
"Now, how are we going to figure this out?"
"A professional?"
"But we don't know any."
"Doc Darren?" John looked towards Blyke.
"The one that used to heal you like everyday when you played cripple at Wellston?"
John nodded.
"But remember when Sera's ability disappeared? We all thought she would never get it back."
"Well she has it now though."
"But they could never determine whether she would or not."
"So what?"
"What if they can't predict anything with Kami and she starts freaking out."
Are they seriously talking about me like I'm not here? "Umm hello?"
"Oh, sorry Kami."
I sighed. "What am I going to do?"
They shrugged.
Knock knock—
"Who is knocking at this hour?"
"Is that what you thought when I came here?"
"Originally, yes."
"Go answer your door."
Blyke groaned in disgust and went to the door.
"What?" He said rudely.
"Oh, did I wake you?"
"Nah, we just are still tired."
"What's up?"
I decided to turn and look and seen a tall muscular guy standing there. He had copper colored hair and it looked like he had two different colored eyes.
"I'm just now moving in and I wanted to greet my new dorm neighbors."
I turned to John. "This late in the school year?"
"Kami, it's only March."
"Wait we had prom early?"
"Yeah, where've you been?"
"In space I guess." I laughed.
"What's your name?" Blyke demanded.
"Frestial"
"What?" I whispered jokingly to John.
"Shh." He laughed.
"Frezteeal?"
"Kami, shush. He might hear you."
"Sorry I'm funny."
He then hit me jokingly.
"Can you two can it?" Blyke turned his head and smiled. He must have heard us. "Anyway nice to meet you."
"Same to you. So are you in your eleventh year too?"
"Nope, twelfth."
"Wow, so your going to graduate."
I then saw Blyke slouch. He must be getting tired of this.
"What's your power levels." He just blurted out.
We all stared at him.
"I'm 4.5." Blyke spoke.
"You two?" The guy peeked inside the room.
"It's not important." I waved my hand.
"I'm a 8.9" John just said.
"Kami, just tell the poor guy your level."
"Well what's his?"
"It's already pretty low." He said. "It's 4.7."
"Elite tier."
"Yeah, well I'm in the presence of a god tier, so what's there to lose?"
"Fine." I never liked sharing my level, and honestly right now, I don't think I should even say anything about the dream situation. "9.7"
He stared in awe. "Seriously?"
I nodded.
"What is it?"
"Omnily."
"Omnily?"
"Yes, Omnily."
"Kami, he clearly doesn't know what that means."
"I can use any ability as long as I can think of it."
"That's fucking over powered."
"Yeah, Thanks, I know."
"No I mean, it's awesome and all, but I feel like I've heard about someone like you before..."
"Well I don't know you so I don't know."
"That's right, on the news a many months ago."
"You must be mistaken."
"No, your the one that destroyed the Wellston high school in attempts to rid EMBER."
"Don't know what you're talking about."
"You're still wanted!" He then took off.
"Fuck!"
"Kami, calm."
"I can't do shit anyway, I don't have my ability, and I probably won't anymore!"
