Caleb's POV.
"Hey dude sorry about what I said before about your fiance. If I would of known before hand I wouldn't of said anything."
"It's cool nothing I haven't heard before."
"How'd you two meet?"
I told Brad how Jade and I met.
"That's cool. You seem happier."
"I am! I haven't been this happy before.
What have you been up to? Seeing anybody?"
"I've got an office downtown. And no girlfriend currently. I broke up with my now ex girlfriend about three months ago."
"I'm sorry."
"It's cool she was sleeping with her boss."
"Damn."
"Yeah oh well. Jade looks a bit on the young side."
"Todays her 21st birthday."
"Damn way to go. But be careful."
"What do you mean?"
"A girl that young wanting to get married already. I'd make her sign a prenup."
"Naw Jade's not like that. She may be young but she's already been through a lot of shit."
"Well you'd know better then I would."
I'm not sure why but I got a weird vibe from Brad.
"Hey sis."
"Hey Derek."
"You ok? You sound kinda down?"
"I'm fine. It's just that-"
"Hey baby."
"Nevermind. Hey babe. Do you know where Theo is?"
"He's probably in the study. Why do you wanna talk to him?"
"I've just got a question."
"Ok. I'm gonna go upstairs to change."
I walk out of the living room and walk down the hall.
(Knock knock).
"Come in."
I walk into the study and shut the door.
"Hey Theo. Can I talk to you?"
"Sure have a seat. What's on your mind dear?"
"Ok since I have no one for my side of the wedding and my parents have both died. Um do you think you could walk me down the aisle?"
"You have no idea how honored I am. Of course I will Jade!"
"Oh thank you so much Theo!"
I stand up and hug him.
"DINNERS READY!"
Theo and I walk down the hall to the dining room.
"Oh my goodness! Maria everything looks delicious! Thank you so much for this!"
"Anything for my soon to be daughter! Happy birthday sweetheart!"
Maria gives me a big hug.
I look at the table and notice the only free spot is between Caleb and Brad.
"Hey Derek switch me spots."
"Um sure sis."
I take my seat next to Caleb.
"You ok baby?"
"Yeah why?"
"Well you asked Derek to switch seats with you? Do you not like Brad?"
"I don't bite Jade."
"I just wanted to sit next to Theo. He actually has some news to share."
Everyone looks at Theo
. "Jade asked me to walk her down the aisle and of course I said I would."
"Oh Theo that's wonderful!"
After dinner I decided to help Maria with the dishes. I was bending over putting dishes in the dishwasher when I felt a hand on my ass.
I of course thought it was Caleb.
"Babe what are you doing?"
"What's it feel like?"
But that wasn't Caleb's voice. I stood up and turned around. It was Brad!
"What the fuck are you doing?"
"I've been checking your ass out all day. So I finally decided to get a hand on it. Very nice."
"Are you serious right now? You're Caleb's best friend. How do you think he'd feel if he knew you were groping his fiance!?"
"Honestly? I don't think he'd care."
What the fuck is this guys problem?
Does he honestly believe Caleb wouldn't care? I know he's his best friend but I don't think he'd let him get away with it.
I looked up and noticed Brad was walking closer to me.
"Back off."
"Or what? What are you going to do about it?"
I took a couple steps back hitting the wall.
"I've got an idea. After Caleb goes to sleep sneak out and join me in my room."
"Get away from me!"
"What's going in here?"
I hear Derek's voice.
"Oh nothing just talking about Caleb. Will continue our conversation later."
"No we won't."
Brad walks out of the kitchen.
"What was that all about?" "
Can I talk to you Derek."
"Of course."
"Not here. Let's go somewhere."
"Ok sure whatever you need."
Derek's POV.
I have no idea what just happened in the kitchen but Jade is visually shook up.
We get into my car and we just start driving around.
"Are you gonna tell me what's wrong?"
"I tried talking to you earlier but I couldn't. I wanted to tell you I get a bad vibe from Brad."
"Bad vibe?"
"Yeah something about him isn't right. And I know what that is now."
"What's that sis?"
"He grabbed my ass in the kitchen!"
"Are you serious right now!?"
"Yes. He then told me Caleb wouldn't care. And that I should sneak into his room later!"
I had a feeling something happened in the kitchen earlier.
I would turn my car around go back to the house and beat Brad's ass myself but she's got to tell Caleb.
This is his situation. Jade needs to tell him and Caleb needs to hands it.
"You've got to tell Caleb."
"I know I do but I don't want to tell him until after our engagement party. I don't want him to get into a fight."
"Ok I can understand that."
We drove around for a little bit longer then headed home.
Caleb's POV.
"Mom have you seen Jade?"
"No I haven't. She was helping me in the kitchen but that was over an hour ago. Come to think of it I don't know where Derek is."
I wonder if there together.
"Hey Caleb can I talk to you. It's pretty important."
"Yeah let's go into the backyard."
Brad and I walked into the backyard and sat down.
"What's up?"
"Ok I don't know how to say this but I think you should know about it."
"What's going on? You're kinda freaking me out."
"Jade was hitting on me earlier in the kitchen?"
"What are you serious?"
"I wouldn't be telling you this if it wasn't.
She told me she'd meet me in my room after you fall asleep!
I kept telling her I couldn't do that to you but she said whatever he doesn't know won't hurt him."
I walked in the house with Derek looking for Caleb. I go up to our room and I hear him in the bathroom.
"Caleb I'm back and we need to talk."
He walks into the bedroom and he looks pissed! I wonder what happened while Derek and I were gone.
"Caleb I need to tell you something that happened with Brad earlier."
"Oh you mean when you told him you wanted to fuck him!"
"What? What the hell are you talking about? That never happened!"
"Oh really cause Brad told me everything you said to him earlier."
"I said nothing to him except to get the hell away from me! He grabbed me! He was hitting on me!"
"You know anytime a guy is nice to you doesn't mean he's hitting on you!
I've known Brad for over ten years. I know he wouldn't lie to me about this."
"Oh really? He wouldn't but I would?
You think I would lie to the only man I've ever loved?
You really think I'd just go and sleep with someone I don't know?
Look me in the eyes and tell me you believe him over me."
"I'm sorry but I do. I don't think we should go on with the wedding."
"Fuck you Caleb!"
I throw the ring at him.
I walked out of the room slamming the door behind me and run down the stairs.
I found Derek's car keys and took his car. I'm sure once he knows what happened he won't mind.
I kept driving until I see a hotel. Then I realized I have no money. I left my credit card at his parents house.
Good thing I have my phone in my pocket.
So I decided to make a call.
