Today you were going to take your first piano lesson...
Sorry, today you were 'forced' to take your first piano lesson since your parents wanted you to 'branch' out your experiences in music. Both mom and dad were in bands when they were both younger and they wanted you to be experienced in music as well.
You tried a lot of instruments: guitar, flute, bass, drums, heck even that triangle thing, that according to your mom "it's more complex than you think". None of these entertained you in the slightest, but they kept trying nevertheless.
So today they set you up with a lesson with some piano instructor they found locally on how to play the piano...great. You were walking to the address that they texted you and you stumbled upon a house. Nothing big or fancy, but not to small either. Seems like a regular two storied house.
You walked up to the door and *knock knock* then waited. You were expecting your teacher to be some old lady like in some movies that you've seen. Except when the door opened. Your eyes were set on the cutest girl you've ever seen. Skin pale as white, her smile, her eyes, just about everything. Your eyes were wide and mouth slightly opened.
"Are you (F/N)?" she asked.
"...oh...uhh yeah, I am." You replied still dazed.
Her smiled widened and she somehow was even cuter than 5 secs ago.
"Great come on in." and she opened the door and let you into the living room, which in the corner you can see a big piano.
"Just sit there (pointing at piano) and I'll be right back." and she went upstairs. As she walked upstairs, you were staring at her back. When she was out of sight, you mentally slapped yourself for being dazed.
"Come on (F/N), just calm down." You told yourself "You probably won't even see her as often."
You sat down on the piano seat and gently touched the piano keys. It's not like you didn't want to learn any instrument, you did wanted to learn how to play an instrument, it's just that none of the ones you played entertained you. You were lost in thought when someone sat down next to you on the piano chair. You slightly jumped and looked and it was the girl. She giggled at your little jump scare.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you."
"It's fine, just lost in thought,...uhh."
"Dahyun, Kim Dahyun. I'm your new instructor." She said happily and with a smile.
No way, she's your instructor. "You're my instructor?" You said
"Let me guess you were thinking of some old person weren't you." She smirked.
"Well yeah, wait how old are you." you said.
"18"
"Me too"
"Cool... so lets get started. So how much practice do you have?" she asked.
And the day went pretty much learning the basics of the piano. She was slightly impressed on how fast you were learning, in a couple of weeks, you learn some ballads and knew almost all the mechanics of the piano.
To be honest, the piano was something that you have thought was a bit boring. But Dahyun made you stay, she didn't say anything to make you stay, but you wanted to hang out with her more and if it takes learning to play the piano then so be it.

Throughout the week, you both got to learn each other a bit better, sometimes you guys would hang out more than the actual lessons themselves, the more you two talked, the more you started to like her, she was perfect in your mind: smart, cute, funny, adorable. You wanted to ask her out, but you thought she might only see you as her student so you left that in the back of your mind.
You two were on the couch right now talking when you learned...
"I'm your first student?"
"Yeah, not many people really like the piano as much. There's rock and pop and rap, that classical is sort of not here anymore."
"So what got you into this?"
"My mom used to play the piano for me when I was a toddler, I loved hearing her play whether it was a song or random tapping on the keys, but there was this one ballad, (B/N) *I don't know any ballads for the piano so just pick any one* she would play this whenever on special occasions or whenever I was feeling sad. It was beautiful to hear... but then she..."
She stopped mid sentence and looked down and you already guessed on what happened to her. "since then, I would tell myself to learn everything about the piano and spread it's music again. I wanted others to feel like how I felt when she played for me." And then a tear drop from her eye down her cheek, it was a sensitive topic for her to talk about.
You felt terrible for even asking the question, you didn't want to see her depressed, but it felt worse because of you asking. So you stood up and pulled her up from the couch and hugged her while stroking her hair.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked"
"No, it's okay, you didn't know"
"Still... but cheer up, Dahyun. I'm sure she's proud of you, learning all of this. And about classical being lost, just give it some time, others would come around, I mean you got me into it."
After about a minute, you heard her sniffle and she looked up at you *you're about a couple of inches taller than her* "Thank you F/N"
"No problem, now lets get onto practicing shall we." She nodded and you both went to the piano.

You came home after the lesson from today and went to bed only not to sleep, but think. You couldn't stop thinking about what Dahyun said. You thought about on what to do to cheer her up, help her, or something like that. You then remembered something at school.
A talent show. It was in about 2 weeks.
You thought about signing up, surely if you played a couple of ballads, some people would enjoy it. Then you remembered Dahyun say something about her mom's favorite. You looked up the ballad on your phone. You were a beginner, but you learned fast about notes and keys. Then you realized that this ballad, was difficult. You cussed at yourself at the hard notes, you were thinking about learning this to play, but after seeing this...
You mentally slapped yourself, for even thinking about that. Of course you had two weeks, so it might be doable. So the next day, you signed up for the show, and every night you would practice the (B/N) on your own with a piano that your parents had, you didn't even tell Dahyun about this. It was hard, you'll admit, but slowly you were getting it. As the weeks came by, the show was now tomorrow.
You invited Dahyun, and she said yes, excited to see you play on the big stage with what you learned so far.

This was it, it was your turn to perform, a lot of people showed up, including your parents and Dahyun at the front row sitting near each other. You breathed in and out and your name was called out. This was it, you were ready.
You stepped out and bowed towards the audience and looked at Dahyun, she nodded her head.
You sat and played your two ballads that you knew really well. Each on was well received by the audience. You then had your last one, the (B/N). You then started to play.
Dahyun immediately recognized the keys and notes, that was (B/N). But how...
She looked at their parents, "When did s/he..."
"S/he practiced every night, sometimes a couple of hours at most." Your dad whispered.
Dahyun was shocked 'S/he did?' she thought, and then looked back at you giving a performance that gave herself a big smile.
A couple of mins later
In your mind, it was going well. You were about 3/4 done, when you suddenly froze...
...you messed up the notes.
Your eyes went wide and you stopped playing. There was whispering in the audience, you shook your head and skipped past a couple of lines of notes and finished the ballad quickly.
F**k was all you were thinking in your head right now. You stood up and bowed at the applauding audience. You look to see your parents clapping, but Dahyun was gone. You thought that she left since you butchered the song. You were heartbroken and went off stage, you were looking down when you were taken into a big hug by none other than Dahyun herself.
"(F/N), that was really great, I can't believe it." She was ecstatic about you playing. She looked up, "What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry Dahyun, but... I messed up."
"So, who cares, you performed it really well. It was really beautiful."
"Yeah... I was thinking of you while performing it."
She looked down with blush on her pale cheeks. You realized this was it, the question you wanted to ask.
"Look Dahyun, I really like you and I wanted to say if you would want to go ou-"
But you were cut off by Dahyun's lips on yours. It was only a couple of seconds, but it felt like heaven to you. She pulled away and smiled at you.
"Yes, I would love to go out with you." And she pulled your hand away towards the entrance of the school."
"Hold on" You texted your parents that you were going to be a bit late for home. They said ok and that they were proud of you. You smiled and put your phone away and looked at her.
"Dahyun" she looks at you.
"Thank you for the lessons" You said.
"No F/N, thank you" She replied and she laid her head on your shoulder as you both walk out of the school.
