Camilla was curled up on her bed shivering despite the hot water bottle to her chest and the multiple blankets over her, her head on Amber's lap. Sickly pale but other than that she was fine for the most part. After coming back from the hospital Camilla had not done well, she had raced up the stairs to the girl's toilet to be sick in and couldn't keep any solids down. Nina, Fabian and Camilla knew this was due to the fact the girl had given Nina's gran some of her energy to fight the power, apparently, that meant the girl had taken on the old woman's sickness as a response.
Amber pushed some hair from Camilla's pale face, worry gracing her own as Patricia and Nina watched on from the end of the bed. Nina had filled the Sibuna's in on Camilla's act and they couldn't help but all hope it was worth it to see Camilla suffering – not that the girl would say otherwise - Nina and Fabian had also filled them in on their 'timepiece' realisation when it came to Nina's gran.
"I can't believe it," Amber whispered as Nina finished the explanation.
"you mean, the 'timepiece' is... granny Martin?" Patricia whispered in shock.
"Camilla's helped a bit but..." Nina trailed off as she glanced at the sick girl once again.
Camilla gave the three a small smile, "I can handle some pain in order for your gran to heal," she told Nina.
"Guy's she's been hexed," Nina explained to the pair, "just like us. How did Senkhara even get to her?"
"she's a magical Egyptian spirit Nim..." Camilla weakly spoke up, "the fact we didn't think of it sooner is the question we should be asking."
Nina, however, ignored the girl's weak sassy response in her hysteria, "I don't even know how long she's been cursed for, she started getting sick when she was staying here!"
"We all know Senkhara's one mean spirit lady," Amber told Nina as Patricia pulled the girl in for a side hug.
"Now we've failed the constellation test... it's game over for all of us, all because of me!" Nina cried out slightly.
Before any of the Sibuna girls could say anything there was a knock on their bedroom door and Joy came into the room with another hot water bottle and a cup of tea. "Vera asked me to take these up to Cam..." she whispered slightly as she walked to the bed where Amber was helping Camilla sit up. The female twin gratefully taking the cup of hot tea from Joy.
Joy went to leave but hung back, before turning to Nina. "Hey..."
"it's not a good time for this..." Amber spoke up warningly, as she pulled the blanket more securely around Camilla who was using her as a lean as she sat up.
"yeah..." Joy softly spoke looking to Camilla who nodded her head encouragingly, clearly, the girl was trying to apologise. Joy took a deep breath before looking to Nina, "Well I just wanted to say sorry... for the Jackal Anonymous thing. I guess it was a slow news day."
"it's fine Joy," Nina told the girl, glad she had come to apologise at least. "you were right, maybe I wasn't taking enough care of my grandmother."
"Nim, admit to nothing," Amber told her American friend before she turned to look to Joy. Camilla was too weak to be their defender right now so the blonde girl was taking up that job right now, "Joy if you have something to say to anyone you should have the courage to say it to our faces! Not write it on a website pretending someone else!"
"XoXo Gossip Girl at Anum Academy..." Camilla spoke up quietly, but they all heard her in the silence that had fallen after Amber's shout.
"exactly! If anyone in this room should be embarrassed, it is you!" Amber continued.
Joy looked around at them all before rushing from the room, Amber letting out a dramatic sigh as Nina and Patricia turned to her with wide eyes, "what it was just my opinion."

"How are you feeling?" Fabian instantly asked as Camilla wandered down to breakfast and slipped into her seat next to him, a hovering Amber right behind her clearly worried for her best friend.
Fabian looked over Camilla, she was still pale but not the scary sickly pale she had been the night before. She didn't seem to be shaking from the cold anymore either.
"I'm not 100%, but I'm fine Fabby," Camilla told her brother and Amber reassuringly as she piled her plate high.
"Oh, Cam's defiantly back," Alfie laughed as he watched the girl dig into her food, "the only other people who could eat that much food is myself and Eddie!"
Thankfully a distraction came in the form of Nina who had wanted to phone the hospital for an update on her gran, before joining them for breakfast. As she slipped into her seat Fabian asked, "Any news?"
"Gran's a little better and stable thanks to Cam, but that's it," Nina told them.
"You're amazing," Fabian told his sister with a smile her way.
"I know!" the girl replied cheekily through a mouthful of French toast.
"The hospital said they'd call if she changes anymore," Nina told them all with a small smile on her face watching the twin's interaction along with everyone else.
Fabian turned to the American girl, and then the rest of the table, "look if your gran is the timepiece, we all know its more important now than ever that we find a solution to this task!"
"But how?" Amber asked them all, "the staff's have gone and we've got nowhere to put the reflectors."
"technically the staff's arent completely gone... the hands are still above the ground." Camilla corrected the girl.
Alfie looked to Camilla as an idea popped into his head at her words, "why don't we just hold the reflectors ourselves? Like Cam says we can see where the staffs once were. Just stand over the hands and hold the reflectors."
"guys there's seven reflector's and only six of us." Nina pointed out with a sigh.
"Soo.. why don't we borrow someone?" Patricia offered in a tone of voice that clearly told the Sibuna's the girl had a plan in mind. "like another Sibuna Temp, like Jerome when it comes to Rufus."
"no way!" Nina instantly argued back, "I'm not letting Senkhara mark someone else! There has to be another way."
"Is this a girl scout meeting or can anyone join in?" Eddie asked as he ambled through from the kitchen to see them all whispering to one another.
"Anyone but you weasel." Patricia instantly flirted back causing a smile to creep onto Eddie's face as he sat himself down next to his girlfriend. "no seriously, this is girl talk."
"since when did you do girl talk?" Eddie asked Patricia before looking to Alfie and Fabian, "since, when did they?"
"You'll find Fabian is very good at girl talk," Camilla defended her brother pointing her sausage at Eddie, "he has to deal with it for 3 months out of the year when we are in Egypt and I can't access Amber as easily,"
"don't remind me about it." Fabian groaned dramatically causing a small bubble of laughter to come from Eddie, Patricia and Amber.
"Weasel Nina's gran's gotten really ill," Patricia turned to her boyfriend hating she had to guilt-trip him into leaving the table but it was for his own protection. "we're all being there for her."
Eddie's expression dropped into one of concern as he glanced to Nina who sent the boy a small smile. "I'm sorry I didn't know... I'll go back to the kitchen with my foot in my mouth if you need me" he looked to Patricia, "if you ever need me, Yacker," he added before getting back to his feet and rushing off slightly embarrassed.
The moment he was out of earshot Amber turned to Patricia in confusion, the Peddie relationship though together confused her more than the Jamilla one. It was like they loved to hate one another? How it worked Amber would never understand. "I didn't think it was possible but your actually meaner to him now your together than when you hated each other."
Patricia looked at Amber doubtfully before glancing to the other Sibuna's around the table who couldn't help but agree with the blonde.
"Seriously, Trish, you're the queen of mean."

Camilla made her way up the stairs as the Sibuna's left for school, her first class of the day was a magic one and Victor was mumbling about in his office so she assumed they were just going reading or something for the class.
"I heard you met the spirit bitch that's the bane of my existence this year," Camilla spoke up as she sat herself down in her normal chair opposite his desk causing Victor to look up at her in shock for a second before realisation washed over him.
"The Mark of Anubis."
Camilla lifted her wrist to show it to him, "branded,"
Victor leaned forward and dropped his head into his hands as he saw the mark on the girl's wrist. Senkhara had been doing the rounds apparently and the kids were in far more danger than he ever suspected. It finally made sense the stress he had seen in the young girl's expression all year, she was trying her hardest to protect her friends from death, complete tasks set by Robert along with dealing with Vera. His eyes focused back on his notebook again, knowing his young protégé could see the scribbles on it too.
"Anubis, Curses, Tutankhamun, Senkhara..." he mumbled slightly with a worried sigh. "Queen Senkhara..."
"why is she haunting Anubis house?" Camilla asked the man who didn't seem to have an answer.
"and what does she want with the Mask of Anubis?" Victor also added.
Camilla let out a frustrated groan at all the questions that didn't seem to have answers. "Victor, have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, your always three steps behind running to catch up with everyone else." Camilla sighed slightly, "every time I think I have wrapped my head around my life, something else pops up. Vera's evil little ways, Rufus..."
"There is literally nothing in nature that blooms all year long, so don't expect yourself to do so either," the man spoke looking to Cobierre a wistful tone to his voice at the mention of his ex-friend.
"do you miss them?" Camilla asked as she took looked at the bird she knew Sarah had gotten Victor as a gift, "Sarah and Rufus... well before Rufus became the Rufus I know."
"I miss parts of my life, but most of it I am happy I have forgotten in my long-lifetime." Victor told the girl looking towards her, "The great thing about the past is that it is the past."
"until it comes to haunt us," Camilla grumbled slightly.
"Indeed, in this house, the ghosts of the past haven't seemed to move on quite yet." Victor agreed with the girl, "I am sure Robert has a few more tricks up his sleeve before our time here is over."

Amber's words at breakfast stuck in Patricia's mind throughout the morning. Finally, she decided to act on them, seeing her boyfriend wandering down the corridor she rushed down to him, "Hey Eddie!"
"Oh, now you're talking to me!" Was the boy's response but he did stop to let his girl catch up with him so Patricia knew he wasn't actually as mad as he sounded. "I think I saw you more when we hated each other's guts."
"you're seeing me now..." Patricia lamely replied.
"yeah but... every time we get close to have some real quality time you have to run off." Eddie crossed his arms looking at her. Was it so mad that he just wanted to spend some time with his girlfriend? "every time!"
"Oh come on," Patricia scoffed at his exclaim, "that's like the biggest exaggeration in the world."
Eddie scoffed at her words, "well then, what are you doing tonight?" he asked.
"Actually, Sweetie Jr, you and I are going on a date." Patricia told him confidently, rather pleased when she saw the shock but excitement flit across Eddie's face at the news, "a very very special date. Meet me at the Frobisher library after school."
"what's so special about the date?" Eddie couldn't help but ask.
"we're starting over," Patricia told him confidently, "from scratch."
"Oh, from you walking into me and yelling at me? You are a glutton for punishment."
Patricia shook her head but the bemused smile on her face as she walked off had Eddie curious as to what the girl, he was falling for had planned.

Patricia had ordered a Sibuna meeting at the library. Camilla and Amber walked in arm in arm fashionably late (like they were going to meet in their uniform after school) just in time to see Patricia handing the man a picnic basket and other things, Fabian, Alfie and Nina looking as confused as the two girls.
"Thanks, Jasper," Patricia told the man with a smile.
"anything to help you guys know that," Jasper told them glancing to the twins who understood the man was team Sibuna in hopes of the pair forgiving him. though they already had. "one hour okay, then I have to open up. Good luck."
With that, the man darted off and Camilla spoke up, "what's going on?" she asked as Patricia wandered over to the fake bookcase and opened it up to reveal the tunnel passage.
"Trixie has some brilliant plan, apparently." Alfie shrugged.
"We need a Sibuna Tunnel Temp," Patricia started turning to them all, "I need to be a better girlfriend. So, I'm killing two birds with one stone." She told them all simply which added more questions than it answered really.
"Patricia, what have you done?" Fabian asked suspiciously.
"This sounds like the start of a bad bad plan," Nina 'whispered' loudly causing Fabian to hum his agreement.
"Guys trust me." Patricia insisted, "Alfie was right," this caused the boy to smile brightly and look to Amber who smiled back at him. "if there's enough of us down there we don't need the staffs. So get down there," she ordered pointing to the tunnel entrance, "get your reflector's out, but don't say a word."
"But we can't just –" Nina went to argue.
"For Nina," Patricia interrupted putting her hand over her eye in the Sibuna way, "for the mask, and Granny Martin."
"Sibuna all over that!" Amber exclaimed causing laughs from Alfie and Camilla who copied the girl.
Nina looked at Patricia before nodding her head nervously. "Okay guys," Fabian ordered, "let's go." With that, the Sibuna's all crept into the tunnel leaving Patricia alone in the library.
The girl quickly shut the secret door behind them and just in time too as Eddie came wandering in with a lazy smile on his face as he looked around the empty library. "okay..." Eddie spoke clearly confused about what the date was going to entail, "you really weren't kidding about the library."
"one thing I didn't mention," Patricia raised a scarf up to show Eddie, "this is a blind date." With that, she wrapped the scarf around the boy's eyes.
"oh, are you trying to kidnap me now Yacker?" Eddie joked.
"like I'd get any money for your sorry self," Patricia teased back before grabbing his hand, "come on, your mystery tour starts here."

The Sibuna's had all taken their places around the room. Fabian in the middle, Camilla facing the door they where hoping to open, Alfie and Amber to the right Nina at the opposite end to Camilla leaving two posts for Patricia and apparently Eddie.
"Everyone got their reflectors?" Fabian asked watching them all dig for their reflectors before showing them.
"remember if Eddie finds out it puts him in danger too," Nina warned them all causing an eye roll from Camilla but for once the girl kept her lips sealed, "so no one say a word. Okay? Not even a peep." Nina added looking to Camilla and Amber knowing those two were the two most likely to get the giggles.
"we can do quiet thank you very much," Amber sassed back a little offended by Nina's words.
"Well if its absolutely called for," Camilla added for her friend which Amber nodded her head in agreement with.
"You'll see. Me and Cam will be peep free." Amber confidently said.
"its kinda funky smelling!" Eddie's voice could be heard down the corridor.
"secret cellars tend to be," Patricia could be heard replying, "Hey leave that blindfold on! You are not allowed to take it off!" with that the Peddie couple emerged, Patricia guiding Eddie who had a scarf wrapped around his eyes so he couldn't see anything. This was going to be intresting. "it spoils the fun."
Patricia guided Eddie so he stood opposite Alfie who had the pocket watch ready. Patricia turned to her friends and put her hand to her eye which they all copied before she turned back to Eddie. "Okay, we are pretty much there."
"And pretty much alone." Eddie flirted moving forward to kiss the girl causing Camilla to bite down on her lip instantly so she didn't burst out laughing. This was going to be a lot harder than she thought.
"Yep! Finally, alone." Patricia agreed though the flirtation wasn't in her voice as she looked around the room at her friends. "Just me and you being alone."
Camilla looked around the room to see Alfie with his lips pushed together shoulders shaking as he looked away from the couple, Amber having to put a hand over her mouth to do the same.
"You know what, I'm kind of glad I've been meaning to talk to you but..." as Eddie spoke Patricia grabbed the mirror reflector from Fabian. "you've always been so busy."
"no it really is," Patricia agreed with him awkwardly, this was not the time for the pair to have a lovey-dovey chat with their friends looking on.
"I know things," Eddie kept talking softly, "have been weird with us. But I need you to know I think your pretty awesome."
Fabian having had enough of the weird chat placed the goblet under the magical light beam and started to try to angle the cup to the beam of light hit the pocket watch Alfie was holding.
"steady on!" Patricia glanced at Amber seeing the look in her eyes and the bright smile on the girl's face. Love Guru Millington was in the house now.
"I do and I was kind of glad you were jealous of Mara because it means you like me too. I've never met anyone like you before." He told her honestly, causing silent aw's from Amber and Camilla. "I think I'm falling for you Yacker. I just have to hear your winy British yack and I turn to mush."
Due to the fact, Amber was too focused on the adorable Peddie scene in front of her Nina had to silently hit the girl and point to Alfie who was moving the pocket watch around so the light beam would bounce to Amber who was holding the dolls eye.
"So, come on hit me, tell me how you feel." Eddie asked Patricia, "honestly."
Alfie's struggled caused Amber to let out a sigh, causing all their eyes to widen in alarm.
"did you just huff at me?" Eddie asked.
"No! just, eh," Patricia let out a dramatic sigh, "breathing enjoying the air. refreshing"
Within a few seconds, the light beam made it to the blonde goddess who started to angle the eye so it bounce to Nina and the shard of stained glass she was holding.
"would you look at that!" Patricia noticed Amber was getting close to finding the correct angle and knew the hard part was coming, her and Eddie trying to get the beam of light. "I've smudged my make up." Patricia mocked Amber slightly, "I really can't be seen with panda eyes, so here, hold this." with that Patricia handed Eddie the mirror reflector, "hold this mirror up."
"You've been hanging out with Cam and Amber way too much," Eddie told the girl as he did what she said. Patricia backing up with the mural piece in her hand as the two girls in question looked at Eddie offended. Camilla even flipping him off. There was nothing wrong with taking pride in one's appearance. They were badass beauties thank you very much.
"Yeah, whatever! Just hold the mirror." Patricia told him as she took her place just in time for Nina to find the right angle to bounce the light to her.
"Where did you go?"
"I'm right here next to you dufus!"
"eh, it sounds like you're a mile away."
"I'm actually long-sighted and I'm pretty sensitive about it. So, if you could not go on about it okay?"
Camilla looked at Patricia amused at this lie – like, what?!
"could you move it a little bit to the left and a little bit up?" She instructed as she focused her beam of light so it hit the reflector. "I just want to look pretty for our date."
This comment of Patricia's caused both boys in the room to mock being sick.
The light beam hit Eddie's reflector and Patricia looked to Camilla for where to go next. The girl pointed to Fabian then herself. They needed to complete the falcon before the light could hit its amulet and open the door.
"that's it! Don't move a muscle!" she shouted as the light beam went from Eddie to Fabian.
"Fine okay! You take makeup pretty seriously!" Eddie teased.
Fabian looked to Camilla who nodded crouching down and holding her hand up with the amulet, Fabian moved his hand forward and the light went in a straight line. The beam of light hit the amulet in Camilla's hand and changed colour to an orange before hitting the door. Causing the door to glow the same orange before with the familiar mechanical sound the door slid open causing silent celebration from the Sibuna's.
"What was that?!" Eddie demanded at the noise looking around.
"My eh, My eh," Patricia tried to quickly think of a lie, "my shoe? I've got chewing gum on my shoe and I was just getting it off."
"What are you wearing stone shoes?" Eddie asked.
This caused a giggle from Alfie and Camilla before both of them covered their mouths.
"Patricia that was a little freaky... are you sure we're the only ones down here?"
"Of course."
Eddie went to take the blindfold off and Patricia rushed forward and pushed him into the next chamber forgetting the only rule Camilla had told them she had. In doing so they all saw huge statues of Jackal turn towards Eddie their eyes glowing red.
What had Patricia just done?!

Random question? are you guys getting notifications for my story chapter updates - my last chapter didn't get as many likes/views than I normally get on average so I just wanted to know if my stuff getting pushed out to you when I publish it or not?
if not, that's rather annoying! I'll have to start posting updates on my wall-thing and hope that gets it to you! but remember I publish Monday-Wednesday and then additionally throughout the week if I can.
