There were gasps all round as sharp pointy pendulums started to swing around Patricia who froze the moment a pendulum narrowly missed her face.
"Patricia, turn around slowly," Nina instructed the girl in a strained but calm voice. "don't move, just turn around."
"Nina! Make your mind up!" Patricia told her as she fought against the fear she was feeling trying to focus on the situation at hand. She slowly turned on the spot so she was now facing the Sibuna's but there was one pendulum swinging between her and them. Of course, that was the moment that every Sibuna member decided to try to help Patricia out which resulted in a wave of noise in her direction which didn't really help her out at all. "Anyone who does not have a pendulum swinging in front of their face, SHUT UP!" Patricia screamed at them all causing them all to fall silent as they watched her.
Patricia watched the pendulum swing back and forth, taking in the rhythm. She then closed her eyes and took a deep breath before taking a step forward to safety. The Sibuna's all crowded around her and hugged her being glad she was out of danger.
"You made that look soo easy," Amber told the girl who let out a nervous laugh at the blonde's comments, not hearing Ambers comment to Alfie and Camilla, "I honestly thought she might die..."
They then turned to watch the pendulums swing, all of them taking in their next challenge. Fabian let out a gasp in realisation pulling out his phone, "we can learn this," he told them all excitedly, "its just like a song."
"Eh, it's not like a song, its like a chopping board." Patricia countered.
Fabian shook his head at her, "no it's got its own rhythm," he explained and Camilla couldn't argue if it did or not because Fabian was the twin to get all the musical genes she could hold a rhythm dance wise but that was about it. Music and everything else was all Fabian. "so think of each Pendulum as chords. Say the suns are A,C and the moons are B,D."
Alfie was listening in as Fabian explained and couldn't help but nod his head clicking onto what the boy was saying, "Yeah, its that Pendulum hip hop man!" with that he started to beat box's as Fabian recorded the pendulums for them to practice against later.
"Oh, here we go..." Amber muttered.
"Who knew this would be useful." Alfie laughed to Camilla as he kept beatboxing.
"Do we want to know what's up with you two?" Patricia asked them.
"We broke up."
"No, we didn't!"
"The pattern loops!" Fabian exclaimed excitedly, "if we learn the song then we learn the gaps."
"We learn the gaps and we walk straight through!" Nina finished for him with equal excitement.
"Exactly," Fabian said looking to her with a smile which Nina was more than happy to return.
"more practice?" Patricia asked with a groan, she wasn't the only one seeing their free periods now being taken up by Sibuna shenanigans.
"Maybe not with real pendulums?" Fabian suggested getting nods from them all immediately.
Amber rolled her eyes at Alfie as he kept beatboxing before helping Camilla out the tunnel, the boy following behind them still happily beatboxing away to himself.
"I know it sounds complicated," Fabian told them all as they reached the study, "but it's really not."

Patricia and Nina took off their amulets, Amber following behind her arm not leaving its place around Camilla's waist. The tea helped but they could all tell she wasn't 100% just yet.
"It's not the song I'm worried about," Patricia informed Fabian, "it's the swinging pendulums of doom."
"That's why we need to practice." Nina explained as if it was the easiest thing in the world. "by the time we're finished you'll be able to do it with your eyes closed."
"that's the only way I'll be able to do it!" Amber spoke up causing a laugh from Camilla.
Nina rolled her eyes at her roommates before pushing the button to the door that led them to the cellar. The Sibuna's followed her out one by one, Camilla looking around as she felt as if they weren't alone but a quick tug from Amber kept her walking. She probably was imagining it.

Nina and Fabian's idea of practice was an odd one indeed. Somehow the pair had dragged one of the benches from the PE hall all the way to the student lounge – how they had managed to clear it was another question Camilla had no clue about.
"What are we looking at?" Amber asked as she pushed the final couch out of the way as Camilla and Fabian placed the bench in the middle of the room.
"This is our crocodile, can't you see?" Nina said to Nina ignoring the fact both twins said 'Sobek' as a way to correct her. Amber glanced down at the bench and clearly she wasn't alone in not understanding Nina as Patricia, Alfie and Camilla all looked equally confused.
"So, we'll take turns as pendulums, and on the beam, and rotate," Fabian explained to them all.
"to learn the gaps, we learn the swings." Nina cheerfully said.
"Is this what you two were whispering about at breakfast because if so you two were way to excited over something so weird..." Camilla couldn't help but said as she looked to Nina and Fabian.
"Eh," Fabian said looking down at his phone, "Patricia you are A, Camilla you are B, Amber you are C, and Alfie you are D, Nina you are our walker." Alfie, Patricia and Camilla all took their places as Amber stepped onto the bench looking confused towards Nina who was stood next to Fabian.
"Wait, am I U R or C?" Amber asked Fabian from on the bench.
"C," Fabian said through a burst of laugher as Amber took her place next to Camilla opposite Alfie with a nod. With that Fabian looked at his pendulums, "Okay Alfie give us a beat."
Alfie started to beatbox and Fabian started to recite letters – resulting in complete and utter chaos along with a lot of laughter from the Sibuna's as they jumped over the bench. None of them bar Nina, who was trying not to cry from laughter, and Fabian having any clue of any rhythm of the pendulums.
"A,C,A,C,D," Fabian called out. It was coming to the end of the Sibuna's jumping over the bench in order and they had finally got to the point they could add a 'walker' to their jumping. After 15 attempts Nina finally made it across.
"I did it!" Nina squealed in delight.
"Well done!" Fabian smiled as Camilla groaned and fell back in a chair. She had done more exercise in the last hour than she had ever done in any PE class ever.
Patricia turned to the girl slumped in the chair and laughed as she threw her the water bottle from her bag, "You know, you have the physical fitness of a really fat panda!"
"Thank you," Was the only response she got from the twin in an almost proud voice as Camilla opened the bottle and took a large swig before passing it to Alfie who was more than happy to take it from Camilla.
Fabian laughed as he held out a hand to Camilla, his sister groaning again as she got to her feet, "Okay Nina, you be A and Patricia your turn on the beam." Patricia nodded her head taking her place at the top of the benches. Alfie standing next to her so Fabian could slot in as a pendulum. "Ready?" Fabian asked getting nods all round.
Alfie started to beatbox and Fabian started shouting letter's again, the corresponding person jumping the bench whilst Patricia made her way along it, "A, B, C, B, A, C, A, C...." Fabian trailed off as they all show Patricia's shocked expression.
The Sibuna's all turned towards the door of the room to see Mrs Andrews in the doorway looking at them all in complete confusion. "What are you doing?" the teacher asked them all.
"Interpretive dance!" Alfie all but shouted from the end of the bench, none of them having any better ideas so they all just nodded their heads in agreement.
"And what are you interpreting?" the teacher asked.
"Its... an exploration into the cultural origins and influences of man's struggles... against oppressive institutions," Alfie lied through his teeth but what he said Mrs Andrews seem to believe.
"If that's not obvious then we are clearly not doing it right," Camilla added for the boy causing Amber and Fabian to nod in agreement with her.
"5, 6, 7, 8,!" Alfie screamed from the top of the bench before jumping onto it and doing a very in-depth flamingo dance across the bench until the teacher walked out the room looking like she had regretted asking the question in the first place.
"When did you learn to do that?!" Fabian burst out laughing along with the rest of them the moment they were free from Mrs A.
The laughter died down the moment Joy came running into the room, her eyes on Fabian a huge smile on her face, "hey Fabian..." she turned to look at Patricia and grabbed her arm, "Houston we have a problem," was all she said before dragging Patricia away.
"I guess we're done for today." Camilla shrugged, before looking around at the rest of them who nodded. Nina and Fabian going over to the bench to take it back to the PE hall whereas Alfie, Amber and Camilla went to put the student hall back to the way it was meant to be.

The problem Patricia had they all found out later in English when Mrs A gave her and Eddie detention. The chocolates the girl had given Eddie (Camilla wasn't sure when or why but okay) had worms in them, Eddie had then given those chocolates out to everyone around him. It sounded all very Peddie-ish to Camilla so she didn't bother to ask further.
After class, however, Camilla followed Jerome and hit him over the head before turning to look at him, "why didn't you tell me?! You and Mara?" Jerome rubbed his head and gave Camilla a confused look as he opened his locker causing Camilla to sigh, "You got her flowers? Poppy told me."
"This is ridiculous," Jerome said in an annoyed voice.
"You are ridiculous!"
"I asked you to help me with my dad and sister. Not to stick your nose into my love life!" Jerome told Camilla. If it was any other person, they would have stopped annoying him then and there, but this was Camilla.
"So, if you two aren't... whatever ship name you guys are, what was with the flowers?" Camilla asked the boy as she leant on Alfie's closed locker to look at Jerome.
Jerome let out a sigh, "she went with me to see my dad..."
"You saw your dad?" Camilla didn't know why but she felt a little hurt he'd asked Mara to go with him not her but she made sure not to show it on her face.
"Yeah... I don't know how I feel about it all. He's my dad but he must have done something to get him there." His voice was low but he knew he could be honest with Camilla and the girl wouldn't judge him.
Camilla reached out and rubbed his arm comfortingly, "No one is inherently evil, J,"
"Well, Poppy is inherently annoying, so I wouldn't put it past some people," Jerome told Camilla with a smile as he closed his locker being rewarded with a wide amused smile from the small girl. "talking of Poppy," Jerome said as he held his arm to Camilla who took it, "she accidentally let it slip that I am no longer in dept with a P.I." Camilla didn't say anything but she didn't look his way either which confirmed to him what poppy had said, "You paid him off? Why?"
Camilla sighed, "I know guys like that unless you pay them in full on day one, they will forever make sure you are in their debt." Camilla finally looked up at him, "I didn't want that for you, or Poppy."
"I will pay you back-"
"It's fine honestly,"
"No Camilla!" Jerome said, looking at her, "this," he pointed between them both, "is one of the few things that is uncomplicated in my life. I would like to keep it that way. let me please pay you back,"
Camilla looked at his expression before nodding, "fine, to keeping this," she pointed between them, "uncomplicated." Something felt icky about saying those words and Jerome didn't need to say anything to her for the small girl to see he felt something was wrong about them too. Neither of them knew what though and the remainder of their walk back to Anubis house was done in silence as they tried to figure it out.
