"Why-why would I have hurt you?"
"It's nothing."
"Tell me Evan, please."
"It's just that...my other dad...used to do that when I...when I got sick."
"He would hurt you?" the rage was clear in Alex's voice, and sympathy was illuminating in his eyes. "Why...Why?"
"Please don't-"
Alex sat me down on the counter and went to grab his phone. I saw him typing numbers. "Alex please," I begged.
He ignored me. "Evan did your mom know about this?"
"Well..."
"Did she?"
"She wasn't home most of the time it happened-"
"You didn't tell her?"
"Well-"
Alex looked up from his phone. "Evan do you know how dangerous your dad could have been?" I noticed scared panic in Alex's eyes, care hidden by terror.
"Alex it wasn't that bad."
"Can you stay with Ethan for a few minutes?"
I was stunned. "w-what?"
"Please, I need to take care of this."
"Alex he's dead it's not happening anymore."
"You don't understand, there are so many precautions we have to take-"
"We?"
"He'll be here in a second okay? Don't leave your seat Ethan will take care of you."
"But-"
Alex was already out the front door.
