During the search, Amanda found a picture of Mr. Munson and his wife on some kind of vacation with a fellow CO. The women who is his look out. Olivia asks Amanda to sit in on the interview with her, hoping they could mange to get her to confess and give us something that will nail Gary's ass to the wall. It works, and Olivia gets his partner to turn and tell us what we need to know. There's a women outside of prison, a sister of an inmate that he visits every Sunday. Finn and I go to visit her, and she agree's to testify against him. The next week, without Garry in attendance Leanne, Charrise, Orita and Mrs. Munson all go in front of a grand jury. They indict him. Olivia and Dodds warn us all to watch our backs and we all have a rather tense weekend watching things unfold in the media. However, nothing happens and the next time Barba steps in front of a judge it is with Gary on the other side that next Monday morning. The judge still disagree's against no bail, so he raises the price and bangs his gavel. We all gather together in our office to say goodbye to Dodd's and wish him well on his next adventure. As we all laugh and chat, Olivia comes over and says, "hey, guys, that was Lisa Munson. We need to do a clothes job."

"She's leaving him" I say back, "and he made bail?"

Olivia answers "yes, so she just needs a little support getting her out of there."

Sonny offers, "you want me to go with you?"

Fin also offers, "i'll do it."

Dodds jumps in, "you know what? I'll go."

Olivia looks at him, a bit shocked, "you're packing up, it's your last day."

He shrugs, taking one last bite of cake, "guy like that sees a sergeant and a lieutenant, he'll listen."

She smiles and agree's, "you're right" and the two of them leave the precinct.

Maybe an hour or two later, someone from Barba's office calls us over. Sonny and I quickly get there, and meet him in his office. He tells us the run down of what happened, and then we look at the tape, "okay, so you said he threatened you twice, when was the first time?" I ask him, looking at the young man on the video screen.

"Uh, after the Munson indictments, he stopped me in front of the courthouse, and said he could throw me down the stairs and crack open my skull." He tells us, visibly shaken.

"Why didn't you tell us about that?" Sonny pushes.

He replies, "i've been getting threats all year."

"All year?" I ask, "so this may have nothing to do with Rikers. When did the threats start? What kind of threats?"

He sighs heavily, "hangups, mostly, on my cell, from burners, a few texts."

Sonny says back, "okay, we're running this through facial recognition."

And I say as I text Amanda, "and I'm having Rollins call Intel, get you a security detail."

"Is there someone there you trust?" He asks, getting both of our attention. I pause on sending that message and he elaborates for us, "the threat started after I indicted the three cops who shot Terrence Reynolds."

Sonny and I share a glance and I get out of my test messages and tell him, "I'm calling Benson." She picks up after a few rings and I say instantly, "yeah, Lieutenant, uh, sorry to bother you, we got a situation here."

She replies, "yeah, well, I have a situation here, too. Munson is holding Dodds and Lisa in the house, and I think that he's armed." She doesn't let me explain when she says, "Chief Dodds just got here, I'll call you back." She hangs up and I tell Barba and Sonny what she just told me.

Barba says, "go, go. I'll be fine." And Sonny and I nod and he gets on the phone to call Amanda and Finn as soon as we move.

Sonny and I get to the Munson's too late to help and see the ambulance pulling away. Fin and Amanda got their before us, texting us updates as we drove. We run up to Olivia, visibly shook by the events that took place here, "how is he? How is Dodds?" Sonny asks.

"He took a bullet" She replies.

"How bad?" I ask.

"Bad. There was a lot of blood. He, uh, it was a gut shot, so they just took him to Lincoln Hospital." She manages to get out, clearly struggling to put sentences together.

"All right, let's go." Sonny nods and moves to get in the car.

We both catch on to her face becoming more pale, and her body tensing and standing still at the door. I ask, "Lieutenant, are you all right?"

"No." She chokes out, tears about to drop from her eyes, "we didn't search Munson. So I left Dodds in there. So this is on me." She swallows hard, her body shaking.

I just stare at my boss, but Sonny nods and assures her, "he's going to be just fine. Let's go. You'll see." And Olivia nods and gets in the car.

When we arrive to the hospital, Olivia meets his father in the waiting room, "chief. How is he?"

All of us gather around, "well, shot through the abdomen, bullet hit an artery. He, uh, he lost a lot of blood. But Mike's a fighter. I told him that."

"What can we do?" Amanda asks.

Chief Dodds only thinks for a moment, then says, "he's B negative. Highway's been dispatched to the blood bank, but they're going through what they have fast."

Sonny quickly says, "I'm O negative, that works. Where do I go?"

"It's right down the hall." The chief says and points in the direction, "all right, thank you." I follow behind him quickly, happy there is at least something we can do at this moment as we wait.

When Sonny comes out from getting his blood drawn, Fin asks, "any word?" having had stayed behind to finish things at the crime scene for us.

I reply, "still in surgery. Chief said he lost a lot of blood."

Amanda then says, "Dodds' last day at SVU, and he runs into a bullet" and she exhales heavily.

"He'll be okay. He bounced back from the last one pretty fast" Fin replies, "he's a tough dude."

She says back to him, "it hit an artery, Fin."

He replies, and I can tell he's trying to be the strong one here, "I'm just saying."

Sonny and I walk a hallway when Amanda comes quickly down to talk to us, "hey, facial recognition unit got a hit on the guy that threatened Barba."

"Please tell me he's not a CO." Sonny asks, moving to slowly start to put his jacket back on.

She shakes her head, "no, it's Felipe Heredio. He's a lieutenant in BX9. We put his brother away a couple of years ago, for gang rape."

"His brother? So it's personal." I say.

She answers, "well, maybe, or maybe the brother cut a deal with the COs upstate, or maybe--"

Sonny stops her from going ,on "wait, we should tell the Lieutenant." We turn to get her and see her resting on Ed Tucker. He looks behind at us, for some kind of input but we just shrug.

He sighs and walks over to tell her everything. After she is all caught up, all of us go into the hall to talk, "this guy threatened to kill Barba again? Where's Barba now?"

"We got the counselor a security detail, over his objections." I explain.

She asks, "we have a last known-- for Felipe?"

Amanda answers, "yeah. It's almost dawn, he'll be home."

"Start knocking down doors, all four of you, and please wear your vests." She pleads, clearly still exhausted.

Amanda assures her as we leave, "we're on it, Lieutenant." As we leave, a blonde women comes in looking for Olivia in a panic. Amanda points her out and we all get to the trunk of the car to get out some vests. We don't get to arrest Felipe before Olivia texts us to come back to the hospital. We make it there, but she and the Chief are in the room with Mike. But soon, she comes out from the room and I can see it in her face, we all can. He's not okay. She stops down the hall, tears coming down and we all know Mike Dodds didn't make it. I turn my head into Sonny's body to try and stop my crying. This is too much. He rubs his hand down my back a few times then we walk together back into the waiting room where we all sit in silence at this new world. They hold the funeral for him later in the week, and all of us show in our uniforms. Sonny is a pallbearer and I stand alongside Olivia, Amanda, and Fin walking down the steps with the other men and women in blue who worked alongside the wonderful Mike Dodds. At the bar that afternoon, I sit with Sonny and Barba at the bar top. I down a shot of tequila and ask the bartender for three more. He brings them over but before we can cheers to take it, Sonny says to Barba, "counselor, just so you know, we haven't arrested Heredio yet, but we have units posted on his block." Barba nods, then smirks and replies, "I'm not worried. Not in here." He lifts his glass and we all clink together "cheers."A few minutes later, Fin yells our to get everyone's attention, "okay, everybody. Listen up. Listen up!"

Everyone stands and stays quiet, and Amanda lifts her glass first, "all right, raise your glasses."

We all follow, and Sonny says it, "a toast! To the bravest cop we ever worked with."

Fin finishes it, "Sergeant Michael Dodds."

"To Dodds!" Everyone calls out after in different unison. I down the rest of my drink, and order one more shot.

Sonny comes over and wraps me into a hug, "I think you should take it easy, your father comes in tomorrow. Do you really want to be hungover?"

I shake my head and look back to him, "I guess not, but I don't want to be feeling anything either."

He half smiles back at me, "I'm sorry baby, I know this sucks. But, we get to go home to the cutest little babies in the world and if they can't make you smile, then I don't know what this parenthood thing is even about."

I hit him softly in the chest but agree, "you're right, I'll take it easy now. I love you."

"I love you, too." He kisses me,
